Chapters 388. Gathering

Sam and Sai arrive at the tempest valley in a few hours. Sai initially feels he has to walk slower because of Sam, but it turns out the opposite. Although Sam would not be able to beat his top speed, he was as fast as the Pre-transcendent at Harbinger.

He could faintly see that it was not his top speed.

After reaching the storm valley, Sam kept his marker and stood there with Sai.

"It's better to let the beast out" Sai said and Sam let Raiju out.

Sai was a little surprised when he saw the beast. There are some changes he can make. But he was sure something had changed with this beast.

He picked up the white fur just in case and the three of them started walking in.

When they reach around the central area with the most lightning, Sai said.

"Sam is here."

Actually, his words were unnecessary. What he did not know was that the giant Raiju behind the lightning had already looked towards Sam after they entered the valley.

It was too lost in that face, that it spoke nothing. The beast was too familiar with that face. The first person to cross this valley and enter its core without dying as well, when he was only a Nascent stage cultivator.

After Sai left, Sam finally turned around and the beast said.

"You have a smell, which should not exist in this world."

Sam smiled. Hope's right. This beast is not of this world. It's from the upper realms. As for the smell that the beast spoke of, it was the smell of Yanwu and the others.

Only at this moment, the old beast looked at his grandson and his frown turned into astonishment.

"Why did his bloodline become pure? What are you doing?"

"The Bloodline Refinement," Sam replied. This was the first thing he said to the beast.

"That's impossible. The refinement of the bloodline does not exist in this world. This is a higher level technique."

"You're right. The refinement of bloodlines does not exist in this world and so does this." With that, he took out a ferocious beast. Yanwu, Sky, Mia, and Shadow mouse appeared in front of them followed by Golden Ape.

The old beast was surprised.

But now, he had seen them in this mortal realm.

"How's it?" The beast asked in surprise.

Sam took a deep breath and said.

"I'm not his son." His words shocked the two beasts.

"Whatchu mean? I can clearly smell his bloodline. You are his son."

Sam pursed his lips for a moment and decided to come clean. He did not want enemies at this level. No matter how arrogant Sam was, he still knew his worth. With his observations, Sam can see more than he can see.

If his guess was correct, the ferocious beasts here were trapped. Or rather in prison. Constant lightning is a form of oppression. But that lightning despite the suppression also helped the beast grow. It also eats lightning.

"You get a rare beast with an excellent bloodline and you can even perfect the bloodline, you have every chance to take the beast. Why did you come here and explain? I can see that this ferocious beast and you have a special contract binding you. You will be able to make a contract with him as well and live with your life."

Sam thought for a while and decided to go with the truth.

The Beast snorted a little which was almost like a small laugh.

“Sending souls is not as simple as you think. Do you think the rules of this world will accept souls coming from other worlds? Even such an entity that could exist would be so powerful and out of control of the natural rules of your world yet to reach that stage.

As for what you think, indeed you are not the Sam of this world, at least not completely.

But the memories you have come from the remains of Sam's soul in this world. They just don't come here. The entity that brought you here did not push your soul into the body. He breaks Sam's soul of this world and escapes from the attainment of samsara.

Those broken pieces join your soul that was forcibly brought into this world.

That means you are the Sam of this world as well as your own person. You two are not separate people.
