THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER

THE REBIRTH OF A GENIUS. CREATOR/DESTROYER
Chapter 63. First Hunt

The team members from team 6 all gathered after the bears left the area. Well, at least all the remaining members. The six members who came and joined Sam and Jack looked at the two awkwardly, not knowing what to say.

They ostracized him at first, because they were envious of his achievements in the tower of will. But now they were almost killed for their behavior. Now, they understood what the Elder had warned them about adapting and surviving. This exam is harder than they think.

"Thank you." Eve broke the silence with her slow and timid voice. He looked at his feet and did not look into his eyes. After a while, the other members also thanked him except Dustin. He still suffers from an embarrassing situation.

Sam observed the crowd and simply nodded at their words. Everyone went back to silence. Looking at the awkward situation, Jack said. "What's next?" He looked at Dustin while saying these words. The latter was more embarrassed.

"Sam, will you be the leader of that group?" ask Shor. The rest of the group also looked at him with hope. All but one.

Sam looked at their expressions and said after a moment of silence.

"If you guys want me to lead the team, I have some conditions."

"What's the requirement?" Val asked.

"First of all, you better listen to every command without question and if you don't want to listen you can get out of the group.

The second thing is that the roll of points you guys find is yours individually and even if we work as a team to get them, I will decide who will get the points share.

Third and final condition. If you fight with someone, you can take the points yourself and I will not interfere in the battle unless you ask me and then I will take my share of the points. The same goes for you too. If I have a battle to earn points, you are not allowed to obstruct me and interfere. If we fight as a team, I will decide on the points division according to everyone's contribution

If you are OK with all the requirements, you can follow me. If not, you can go alone now."

The other teammates were astonished by the condition. If they agree, they will lose control of their actions entirely to Sam. So, they hesitated.

"Why should you decide on a point split?" ask Dustin.

"I will provide a way to find food and I will be the one to give you a way to live safely and I will be the one to lead you in battle. Then who do you think should share the points if not me? " Sam spoke and sat by the tree leaning against the trunk and Jack followed his actions.

Sam looked at their contemplating expressions and said. "I don't have all day for you. The first day is the most important day and I cannot waste my time on you. Please, decide quickly." His voice carried a hint of impatience.

They all exchanged glances and started whispering to each other. The trio from the eagle cliff city seemed to take a decision and Dustin spoke.

"We cannot agree with your advice on point sharing. I'm going to be the team leader and decide on the points division and you're going to be in charge of the food and shelter for which I'm going to give you ten percent of the points from everyone. in the group above your section." Dustin said and the remaining two nodded their heads.

Sam looked at them with a funny expression and stood up while stretching his body lazily. "What about you guys?" He asked the remaining three.

"I'll join you." Eve said and took a step forward. Both Vales and Shor looked at each other and said. "We also agree with Dustin and the others. You decided the point division was a bit unreasonable."

Sam raised his eyebrows and asked. "Why do you think so?"

"What if you unfairly share your points with yourself?" Vales asked in return.

"So, you don't think there's gonna be a problem with Dustin?" This time Jack asked me this.

"What's? Do you think we're like you, village people? Do you think we should rely on this little trick to earn points unfairly?" Val sneers at Jack. Sam just kept quiet, but Jack asked the two people from the subordinate cities.

"Is that your business, too?" When he asked that question, he looked at them with a slight displeasure. Vales and Shor did not reply but from their embarrassed expressions, the answer was obvious. They really thought that Sam might use this to get more points and Dustin wouldn't, because in their eyes only those from the subordinate city who had fewer resources had to rely on that way. In their eyes, the people from the Count city were all noble and superior.

Sam could guess their thoughts without them talking. He shook his head with a wry smile. The more people he met, the more similarities he found about these people to those from the previous world. They really hold high opinions on people from a superior place. For example, most people from India have a big prejudice that all other Indians like them and their behavior is similar and Americans, are, those from wealthier countries will have a superior way of thinking and treating them as something special. [A/N when I say 'mostly', I consider the large population and I am not targeting anyone personally and by the way I am also Indian and there are times when I have that opinion.]

Sam looked at the remaining team members and said. "The conditions I say are not for negotiation. If you've listened to me about the bear incident, I'll stay on the team without being a leader, but once that happens, there's no chance anymore." Sam said and turned to leave. Jack and Eve followed.

"Wait, I'll join you." Shor said and immediately walked towards them in a hurry. Actually, he really didn't mind Sam being the leader. He agrees with Dustin because of his friend's suggestion to siphon candidates from prominent backgrounds in the Count city. They also thought Sam would agree immediately and would not leave the group. But when it came to the point, he chose to trust Sam more because he had just proven his worth.

The remaining four people remained there with unpleasant expressions on their faces. The three especially gritted their teeth in anger. They didn't expect Sam to leave decisively. They just want to try it out to take over the points division and if it doesn't work, they will try to get some profit. But Sam did not follow their scenario and left just like that after they tried their trick and now, they were hesitant whether to follow him because they felt that they would lose face to follow him.

Before they could make a decision, Sam and the other three left the place.

"What's so great about him? we can get to this forest. Last time was just because we were off guard." Dustin snorted as if trying to convince them and himself. The others nodded.

"Yes, once we get the cultivation scroll, we can get through this easily." Vales also said from the side. Jessie's the only woman looking towards Sam's departure. Others thought that they could easily pass this if they opened the cultivation seal. But getting the scroll was not easy.

Sam and his three teammates started walking in a certain direction at a moderate pace as he checked around. Soon, they stopped at an empty place surrounded by trees. They could hear the faint sound of streams.

Sam left his group there and walked towards the sound and soon found a small river flowing through the rocky bed. The flow is very small and the depth is also very low. The water is pure and transparent as gravel and gravel can be clearly seen under the water.

Sam took a handful of water and took a sip. The water feels normal and a little refreshing after a walk. He came back to the team and said.

"The water flows like that and the current is too small to attract larger animals. This place is good for now. We can stay here tonight.

Shor, go and collect the firewood. The wood does not need to be large, but it should be dry and carried as much as you can.

Eve, you take some dried leaves, dried grass, bird's nest, dried tree bark along with some green leaves, which are large. You two don't go too far. You should be within the visible range of this place.

Jack, you're gonna follow me."

Sam gave instructions and walked in a certain direction with Jack after he saw the other two leave.

Sam and Jack walked towards the direction where there was a small path between the grasses. They moved quietly and slowly without making a sound.

They finally stopped near a cave and hid in a tree.

"We have a target in the cave." Sam said to Jack in a low voice.

"What's that?" Jack asked curiously.

"I don't know exactly. But it was a beast but the danger was smaller compared to the bear we encountered before."

Jack says nothing and waits as Sam breaks a bamboo tree away from them. After that he searched for a while and finally found a stone whose tip was rather sharp.

He went back to Jack and asked. "How confident are you with your throwing skills?"

"I can do it well." Jack said in a confused tone. He did not know why Sam was asking this but still answered.

"Okay, then. In some time, the animal will come out of the cave and I will try to stop it from staying in one place. You have to hit his head from a distance and his punch should be as strong as possible. ."

"The cave is very broad. Is it possible to stop it somewhere?" ask Jack. Sam did not say anything and the two of them returned to the campsite. The other two had already returned with the items they gathered.

Sam put bamboo poles and stones on the ground and picked up some dry wood. The next action left the group confused without end.

He took out a flat piece of wood and a round stick and put it together. Then he peeled off the outer layer of bamboo stems, twisted and woven with a thin but stiff rope. He took out a raw stick and made a small bow in which the thread he made was a small circle around the round stick he had picked up earlier. He made a bow drill to light a fire.

He placed the stick attached to the bow on the flat wood and started operating the bow drill after about ten minutes of continuous action, Sam was already sweating and the hole formed in the wood started to emit smoke and he took out the drill quickly and took out some bird nests and placed a small splash on the wood in the nest and after a few blows continuously, the nest was burning.

Soon, there was a fire in the middle of the camp and teammates surrounded him. Although it was a little late at night and not too cold, they still enjoyed resting in front of the campfire.

They did not understand how Sam made fire from dry wood, but they were surprised and amazed at the tricks he did.

Sam didn't sit for long. He walked towards the bamboo pole and broke it in two. Each half measures up to three feet in length.

He took one and a half and split one end into several thin vertical pieces until it reached half a foot in length and began to hone the edges of each end. After a while, he took out a few sticks and broke them into small pieces. He then placed it at the bottom of the split end to make the pieces he spilled spread as wide as possible.

Now, the pole has one normal end and the other end is like an upside down umbrella frame without a canopy. He took the other half of the pole and filled the hole with some tree bark and dried leaves and covered it with green grass leaving only a small hole to reach the dry goods.

He gives the stone to Jack and takes two poles, then starts walking towards the cave as Jack follows him with the wooden stick still burning.

After they walked closer to the mouth of the cave, the two looked inside the cave as they hid behind a tree. Soon, they saw a fox entering the cave with a rabbit in its mouth.

After entering deep into the cave, Sam gestured for Jack to move and they took all the dry wood around the area and set it on the ground at the cave entrance leaving only a small area as if leaving a path.

After the setup was complete, Sam lit the dry wood as well as the bamboo sticks he filled with dried and green leaves and threw the sticks into the cave. Then he held a pole with an upside-down umbrella frame facing the path.

Soon the dry wood was burning and the inside of the cave was also filled with smoke and in the middle of the smoke a creature ran out and saw the fire that surrounded the cave and ran towards the only way is to go to the pole that Sam holds.

He immediately pressed the frame on the fox's head with all his might and squeezed it on the ground for a moment. "Jack now." Sam shouted and before long the rock with a sharp tip flew up throwing air and piercing through the fox's ears immediately catching its movement.

Sam slowly moved towards the fox and to be on the safe side quickly broke his neck. After that both of them put out the fire with the surrounding land.

Jack looked at Sam and smiled which was then replied with the same answer. The two walked inside the cave and saw a rabbit that had been half eaten.

They held torches and walked towards the cave a little deeper and in the light of the fire, they saw a small dagger.

The two smiled and Sam took a dagger while examining it. Now, he clearly understood the elder's statement. 'Every danger leads to opportunity.' The danger of facing a fox can be the reward of finding this dagger.

He gives Jack a dagger and keeps looking and finds nothing else. He tried to find the points scroll but nothing.

The two went out and started skinning the fox there instead of making it in the camp. Then they cut the pieces of fox meat and left the carcass there before walking towards the camp.
