Chapters 19. Experiment

Sam was on the second floor of the tower in the Divine Dimension. But right now, the room was not in an illusory state as usual, but rather like any other room. It was only a few hundred times larger. Right now, Sam is seen squatting in one place and drawing something with his brush. There were two large concentric circles formed with several small secret figures could be seen. This is the main skeletal skeleton of an inscription. It is mainly used to compress and compress inscriptions onto inscription objects. The large circles are about three feet long while the small circles are about two feet long. These circles will be different for each rank and it will be harder to draw the higher the level. 

The gap between the two concentric circles was used to place inscription runes, which were responsible for energy flow and energy conversion as well as for achieving inscription purposes. When Sam finally finished all the runes, he drew some lines connecting to a much smaller circle in the middle, which was the place where the object on which the inscription was placed had to be kept.

After you finish drawing. Sam stood at a point between concentric circles, where there were no runes. This is where the person doing the inscription should stand. Sam stood there and observed the inscription patterns he drew himself to make sure there were no mistakes. Sam still felt cautious because he had already experienced what would happen in the simulation. 

Sam has tried the same process many times and failed many times in a simulated environment. There would be a high reaction when the inscription failed. Sam took out an ordinary sword and examined it. The sword was one of the items Sam asked Marvin to buy in the list he gave. Sam came out of the circle of inscriptions and went to the side of the room where there were two logs of the same type and the same thickness. The sword in the log only used his spiritual energy in part. The sword was lodged in the wood until half way. This was Starwood, which was one of the most important resources available in the forest near Starwood city. It is a powerful material used to make weapons and handles for swords.

Even the low quality of Starwood was still extremely valuable. The log in front of him was also low level. Sam then took the sword back and walked back to the inscription circle and kept the sword in the middle and returned to its place. Then suddenly he started circulating his spiritual energy and the inscription circle was activated and the runes started to move as the concentric circles fused, the runes directed the spiritual energy in different ways and started condensing towards the sword. Sam did not even blink an eye as he closely observed the nature of the energy flow and how each rune directed the energy. Sam tried this in a previous simulation. However the simulation only shows the success and failure of the resulting inscription but the actual process is still not observable and the energy flow is not visible.

Sam actually observed the entire process but still felt a little disappointed, as it was very difficult to observe how the energy was changed and directed by each rune individually. Sam went to get the sword. There was clear writing on the blade. He then walked towards the intact Starwood log and swung his sword, this time his blade directly pierced through the log as if it was a hot blade cutting through butter. He slowly examined the wound and looked at the sword. Then he nodded with satisfaction. This is the power of written weapons.

Then he looked to where he drew the inscription and inevitably felt a little disappointed. Although he had clearly succeeded in inscription, he had completely failed in achieving his goal. Sam sat down and took out a notebook. He picked up a brush and started writing.

He turned the next page starting to draw on the next page. This was the picture of the inscription circle, he had done before. He looked at the circle of inscriptions and started observing the circle from various angles and started brain storming seriously.

After a while, Sam suddenly stood up when an idea came along. 'What if I split them one by one?' Sam thought while looking at the circle of inscriptions in his notebook. The runes with gaps between the inscription circles were all connected in some way. 'If I were to look at the runes as a series of gears and see the entire flow of energy produced as the ratio of the final gears, then each rune would be a pair of individual gears in a net. That means just as the input gears and output gears rotate at different speeds, the input energy flow for the runes is the input gear speed and the output of the energy flow is the output gear speed. Then the difference in energy flow between the input and output of the energy flow can be referred to as the ratio of individual teeth. Then like how in gear ratios,

As he thought up to this point Sam felt like he was enlightened and headed in the right direction. 'Now I know the input and output of the energy flow. If I can calculate the individual changes in the links one by one, then it will be possible to understand the energy flow. Because, I am also part of the gear train and I know my specifications, it will be much easier. Because, Sam was the one who put in the energy standing inside the circle, he was also the link of the energy chain created and an important link at the time. So, Sam turned the page and wrote down the ideas he got and stood up.

He went to where he made the inscription circle and took out a different brush and bottle of ink. This was the inscription ink he had made himself from the materials Marvin had brought. Different inscriptions have different requirements. But a neutral-type inscription like the sharpness inscription Sam had made earlier could be made with the same ink. So, right now Sam is practicing with neutral writing. Sam stood up and observed the circle of inscriptions in the notebook. He thought about how he should dissect them one by one without making a mistake. Sam began drawing the first and most important runes that would be to his left from where he stood on the inscription. He slowly and accurately drew a circle where he had to stand and then the first rune. The first rank inscription circle had a total of 12 energy nodes, consisting of inscription masters and 11 other runes. So, Sam had to try analyzing all 11 runes.

As he completed the first rune and extension line that would connect with the next rune, Sam stood up and put away the ink and brush and stood on the node and began to activate the runes with his spiritual energy. Then Sam saw how the runes processed energy. He could clearly discern the energy when it was sent in and out. Just like he was feeling a little excited. There is a change in energy flow.

*EXPLOSION*

The sudden change in his nature made spiritual energy unstable and mini explosions occurred. Then Sam flew up and landed on his back while spewing out a mouth full of blood. He gasped and tried to stabilize his breathing. After some heavy gasps, Sam finally sat down to see the clearly broken runes. Then Sam pulled out a notebook and wrote.

*BOOM*Sam then understands why this happened. Streams of rune energy and formations overlapped and created explosions. Sam took out his notebook again.

'Experiments-3 …..

Sam continued to experiment until he finally succeeded. This time Sam removed the formation flag as a knot and then used the runes instead. Formations can use any object as a node as long as the formation master can make it transmit spiritual energy. Because the second floor of the tower did not have any visible spiritual energy to be used by the spirit gathering formation. Sam used the Spirit stone. Finally, when Sam used runes as input nodes to the formation and connected the rune output to the next node which was the next formation flag, Sam finally succeeded.

Sam smiled as he saw the results and sighed in satisfaction.

The days passed slowly outside. Sam stayed inside the tower and continued to analyze the various runes and inscriptions along with the formations. He did not cultivate or practice anything as he continued to experiment. All this time, he had counterattacked many times and sometimes he attacked with his thought process. He performed hundreds of experiments as the day passed. The only other thing he did besides his daily routine was that he sometimes carved with wood. Every time, he was mentally tired, he would take the time to carve out various complex shapes.

A month passed outside and Sam was still inside the second floor of the tower. He sat exhausted on the floor, but he had a grin on his face as he looked at the ordinary sword in his hand. This was similar to the first sword-like sword in his first try. But this sword had so many secret marks on its hilt. The handle was literally covered by a large amount of mess with no space left. But Sam was not the least bit bothered by it. He seemed quite satisfied. He slowly stood up and thrust the sword into the ground violently and then concentrated the spiritual energy into the secret symbol in his handle. Then suddenly a dazzling sight appeared as a formation appeared in front of him. This is a binding formation. This will help stop the movement of the enemy for a certain period of time depending on the strength of the opponent.

Sam wrote down the complete formation on the sword hilt. It's like creating a disk array. But Sam just replaced the disk with the handle. But it's easier said than done. Even writing a disk array, itself was not easy at all. The person had to be great both in inscriptions and formations and even then, one would not write an Array disc unless he ranked 2nd in both trades. Then only he would be confident to write the array disk. But Sam who was clearly only first rank in both trades had scratched the formation and that too on the sword hilt. Sam stared at the sword and then slowly stood up as he exited the tower. There were two panthers who were slowly falling asleep. Yanwu, also in its original form was like sleeping on a tree. Sam smiled as he walked out of the Divine Dimension and landed on the bed.

The next day Sam wore his black fur coat on an armless vest as he walked down. Yanwu followed from behind. Sam went outside the mansion with Yanwu towards Philip. Along the way Sam notices that the streets are crowded with people and everyone seems to be discussing something. The whole city is beautiful. Sam walked towards the Evergreen family to meet Philip and the others.

"Oh, you're finally here." Philip seemed relieved to finally see Sam here.

"It seems you are happy" said Sam.

"Well, the admission to Starwood academy will happen in three days. I don't think you'll make it because there's no news from you. Now that you're here, I'm so happy." Philip said with a smile. "Let's go to your Mansion. It's time. The others will be there too" Philip said as the two of them along with Paul went to Sam's house.

After some time.

"My big house seems to be your meeting place" Sam joked.

"You don't use it anyway. So, what if we use it for a while" Freya said from the side.

"Now you're here. We're all relieved. We all thought you couldn't come to the day of reception" Marvin said from the side. Sam just smiled.

"Sam, I think it's better that you stay in my family for the rest of the day before the exam. The attention of other city lords and families may be directed at acceptance, but they are still watching over you. They probably already know that you're back and they might be planning something." Philip said from the side. Listen to what he said. The two girls felt a little awkward. After all, it was their families who conspired against their friends.

"My father said that these nobles would do anything to get what they wanted if it was in the hands of someone who had no status." Philip continued. Hearing that everyone remained silent and looked at Sam waiting for his response. They got a response. But that's not what they expected. Sam just smiled and said casually.

"There is a much better and easier solution than hiding. Don't you know?"

"What's that?" Philip asked. He thought that since his family was the only one who did not oppose Sam, it was best to stay there. But what Sam said next made all the jaws drop to the floor.

"just simple. Let's find status." Sam said as he stood up and started walking towards the door.
