Chapter 65. First Dispute With Participants

Sam began to pull out the thorns from the bear's body. By the time he was done, the remaining three came and the four of them worked together and dragged the corpse into the middle and started skinning it.

When Sam begins to dissect the bear and tear its body apart, he finds a small scroll inside, which surprises the four of them.

He took the scroll and opened it to see that it was a point scroll. There was a number 10 written on it and there was a secret figure with their token-shaped space in the middle. Everyone's expression immediately brightened upon seeing her. It's only the second day and they've already earned the points roll.

Eve and Shor feel more pleased and satisfied with their decision to follow Sam. As they are in their own fantasies, Sam's voice breaks their daydream.

"Each three for Jack and me. Two for you both. You mind?" Eve and Shor regained their senses and immediately nodded. After all, they did no great job other than following Sam's instructions.

Sam took out his token from his pocket to get their approval. The token has the number 6 on it and there is its name engraved underneath it. He placed the token on the scroll and the runes became bright.

Immediately, the number on the reels was changed to 9 and then 8 and when it finally reached 7, he took the token and looked at it. There is a 3 on the back of the token which indicates the point.

The points from the points scrolls could be seen on the badges, the points for survival and those obtained from battles were counted and recorded by the elders.

After four of them finished with points, Sam continued his cut and soon the bear was cut into pieces. He takes the main parts viciously and hands them to Jack and buries the bear's innards. Although they could be used as food, bringing them along in the forest was the same as placing a target on themselves.

After that they all took the bear's flesh, and nails it into the cave, but before doing so, Sam set up another wooden trap.

"Why set another trap?" Shor asked out of curiosity. Sam smiled and said.

"If someone comes here and accidentally gets hit, we can get points to beat the opponent."

"But will the elders consider it?" Eve asked this time. This time Sam answered rather loudly.

"Why not? After all, setting a trap was also my prowess and everyone who fell under my trap was clearly dropped by me. If they don't think so, I can't do anything."

Sam and the team go with their belongings and enter the bear cave. This cave was slightly deeper than the previous fox cave and was also wider. But this also makes it a little darker on the inside.

They light a fire in the middle. Shor and Eve are responsible for grilling the meat, while Jack and Sam are responsible for exploring the cave.

After enduring the horrible smell of blood and viscous blood within the cave along with the ground, they finally found two things inside the cave.

One was a weapon, which was an axe and the other was a defensive scroll. They took the axe and the scroll went back to the camp.

Sam and Jack walk out of the cave after giving Eve and Shor's defensive scroll as they take the bear's skin that he can cleanly remove from the bear and walk towards a nearby river.

They move silently and after making sure that the riverbank is clean and there are no other creatures in the river, Sam washes the bear's skin and makes use of the bamboo containers he made to collect water back to the camp.

After returning to the cave, the four people ate luxuriously with bear meat. Although it felt full of strange flavors, they did not feel any disgust at all.

After eating, everyone started to rest. Sam took the bear's skin and started making bags with daggers and thin ropes made of bamboo leather. An hour later, he had a bag in his hand.

Sam tried to pull and stretch the bag to test it out and then he smiled in satisfaction. The bag was nothing special. It doesn't even have an aesthetic look. All there is is is space to put things, cover not to expose the items and a fixed rope to hang them over one's shoulders.

Jack came and looked at the bag and nodded in admiration. He really wanted to know how Sam got so many ideas and how he was so familiar with the forest and had normal human survival skills. Of course he'll never know.

Sam washes the rest of the meat clean and air-dried. After which, he wrapped the meat with green leaves and stored it inside the bag along with the defensive scroll. He left some meat to eat at night. It's past noon. As he thought that they should go out and explore the area

"Ohhhhhh...."

A shout disturbed their peace. Sam and Jack looked at each other and smiled. The screams came from the direction exactly where they set the trap.

They looked at Shor and Eve as Jack asked. "Do you want to come or stay here?"

The two looked at each other and decided to follow them. Jack hangs a bag containing meat and rolls. He took out a bamboo spear and gave a dagger to Eve while he gave another spear to Shor.

Sam held the axe as the four of them slowly walked towards the place where they lowered the bear.

Arriving at the location, they saw a group of people swarming the tree where the bear fell. There's someone from another team. And it was also a team full of ten members. But only the person standing and the last one lying on the ground was unconscious.

The group looked very thin. He even saw some people from the river town of Misty and there was also a man who scored twenty points in the Tower of Will. The team members were quite confused when they saw the person lying down without any movement.

"Sam, I think we should go. They're more than us easily" Shor said from behind.

Sam smiled and replied. “Their number is the main advantage for us. Look at them, from their faces and situations, they don't even seem to have had decent food and water since yesterday. They may have difficulty, adapting to normal human beings with hunger and fatigue. This is the best chance to collect points."

Then Sam looked towards the tree nearby. There was a middle-aged man in black clothes looking at them. The remaining three also followed and felt a little surprised as they thought that the elders would not wear shoes at all.

"Elder, I'll get points for people who fall for wood traps right?" ask Sam with a smile. The elder did not answer but simply nodded.

The team that was in the tree finally sensed the arrival of Sam and his team. The man with twenty points who seemed to be the leader of the group took a step forward and asked.

"Yes, how could you use such a devious scheme?"

The teammate behind him started to complain.

Sam did not care about them and turned towards his three team-mates. "We're going to drop them. You guys have eaten and rested enough. So, all you have to do is drop at least one weapon and we can do the rest."

After he finished saying, Jack placed his bag near the tree and picked up a spiky bamboo that was almost as long as his sword. Shor and Eve also held their weapons tightly as they looked towards the group.

When their opponents saw Sam and the others had weapons like daggers and axes, they were filled with envy. Even the bamboo spear frustrated them. They also take the time to check the appearance of others. Although still covered in mud. Their faces looked fresh and energetic. Unlike them, who completely avoided danger.

"Derek, what should we do?" One of them asked the leader, who are the people with twenty points in the tower.

Derek was also somewhat dazed and burning with envy. He avoided danger as much as he thought he could start fighting after he found some weapons and scrolls in the forest. He thought that they might just be hidden in a few places and he just needed to find them.

But when he saw the four members in front of him, he thought that he would have to face danger head-on to reap the benefits. He also thought that the remaining six people were in the process of obtaining daggers and axes.

The question from his teammate woke him from a daze. He thought for a moment and his eyes were sharp as greed covered his mind.

"There are only four of them. If we drop it, we can get the weapon. Let's surround them." He said in a soft voice. Then he walked towards the people who had fainted from the wood trap and broke his token. An elder came and disappeared with the man.

Their nine members exchanged glances and surrounded the four people.

Sam just smiled and looked at Shor and Eve. "You just have to hold on until we can help you. If you can beat at least one of them. That's even better."

After saying that, Sam and Jack nodded at each other and moved. Since both of them were warriors, their prowess was useful here. Three men came to Sam and the remaining six were against two against 1 against the remaining members.

Sam swung his axe straight into the chest of the man in the middle. His movements are cruel and cruel. He doesn't care if he hurts anyone else.

The people targeted wanted to dodge, but both sides were covered by his teammates and he could only move backwards, but the axe still pierced through his chest and blood came out of it.

The remaining two were dumbfounded at the scene and before they could even figure out what was happening, an axe swung at one of them and stabbed itself into the stomach of another man.

The remaining people want to run away. Those three people simply could not resist. They are weak because they do not have proper food or rest. Sam had just thrown an axe that pierced through the back of the remaining man.

He walked towards them and broke their tokens one by one and picked up his axe as he looked at his teammates.

Shor and Eve leaned against the tree as they were surrounded by four people. Jack fights Derek.

Derek seems to be a fighter and he is quite skilled with his footwork and fist techniques. He dodged the bamboo spear that Jack swung at him and tried his best. But Jack seems pretty relaxed. His other opponent had already groaned in pain as he rolled around on the ground.

Sam throws an axe at one of the four members who surround Eve and Shor. The two held on there but the four people were not brave enough to make a move.

When the axe stabbed one of the people in the back and knocked him unconscious, the others were confused. Shor and Eve take this opportunity and take down two opponents. Only one man remained and Sam immediately dropped him.

When he finished dealing with them, Jack was still toying with Derek with a smile on his face. When he observed Sam and the others finished, he immediately moved and placed a sharp spear tip in Derek's throat to stop his movement.

Derek's face was unwilling and reluctant. But he still took his token and broke it and soon only four members were left on the spot.

"Sam, one point for that guy to fall for the wood trap. The remaining nine members were dropped by you as a team. The total number is 45. How will you share it?" The elder standing on the branch asked them.

Sam thought for a moment and said, "13 for me, 12 for Jack, 10 for Shor and Eve respectively. Is it okay for you?" He asked that question to his team-mates. They nodded without hesitation. After all, it was still a huge sum no matter what.

Sam said rations to the Elders, who nodded and disappeared. The four of them took the bag and went back to the cave. When we got to the cave, Sam said.

"We'll stay here tonight. We'll see what to do tomorrow morning. We have a good harvest today."

They live in caves while eating bear meat at campfires. They have the same settings as yesterday and take turns to keep watch and sleep.
