Renzana Alcatraz
My eyes blinked as the sunlight barged through the gap of the window that was not covered in curtains, touching my face. Still a little dizzy because I slept too late last night. While my immune system is not as healthy as it seems. Even though it is better now than before.
After not being able to resist sleepiness last night, I decided to sleep on the sofa living room of Kanya's apartment. Without the consent of the woman. Rather than me forcing myself, but instead had an accident on the road due to drowsiness. I don't want to die yet, let alone in such a ridiculous manner. Moreover, there was still something else I had to do before my life was truly over.
I stared at the black and gray living room. Although not as large as the living room in my apartment, but it feels warm and comfortable. The room temperature is also set right up to make a long-lasting feel. Not cold, but it feels cool. Moreover, the minimalist space arrangement with a bookcase divider that separates the living room and kitchen as well as the dining room.
Looking at the readings arranged on the shelf, I can find out Kanya's fondness for literary works. Novels by the maestro Pramoedya Ananta Toer, Ahmad Tohari, Danarto, to as popular as Djenar Maesya Ayu, Dewi Lestari, and Ayu Utami, neatly lined up. Not to mention the collection of poems owned by Chairil Anwar, Joko Pinurbo, Sapardi Djoko Damono, W.S Rendra to Aan Mansyur and Usman Arrumy. Even all books have been covered and seen once if the owner diligently takes care of him.
I went through Kanya's collection of novels and pulled one from her place. Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. One of the things I read to fill my free time. I don't know why, reading it dozens of times never bored me. I guess, Kanya did too. See how I write that book compared to the others.
The corner of my lips lifted. Could we have the same reading tastes? Maybe one day I can ask him.
I put the novel back in its place. For a moment I glanced at the clock that was coiled around my wrist. Before the girl woke up and realized I had been staying overnight without permission, she had to get out of her apartment as soon as possible before she was found out. Naas, the white-painted door that connected Kanya's bedroom, opened before I could even lift my body from the sofa.
"Mas Araz, how come it's here?" yelled Kanya hysterically.
Obviously, the woman I carried up to her bedroom in a deep sleep. While I casually decided to sleep in his living room without asking permission first. Damn, I never knew if Kanya was among the people who regularly wake up early. There is no 07:00 this morning.
"Hey, good morning, Kanya. Did you sleep well last night?" ask pleasantries.
Obviously that wasn't the question Kanya wanted to hear. The woman just needed a statement as to why I was already in the living room of her apartment this early. He even glanced at me with a sharp look. As if ready to make words.
"No need to miss Mas, just answer how Mas Araz can be here?" ask Kanya in a higher tone.
I scratched the back of my head that didn't actually itch. It's just that I often do it if I'm misbehaving and don't know what to do.*****, if this is how much more I can do than admit last night.
"Sori yes if I was presumptuous, I was sleepy last night so willing to return after you. Ehmm, rather your carrier goes into the apartment, if I may be honest," I replied prepared with all the rage Kanya. But my fear did not happen. The woman's cheeks turned red withstanding embarrassment.
"Mas Araz take me to my room?" ask Kanya after being able to master her nervousness. I just nodded in return. "Why not build it?"
"You are sleeping very much. I didn't wake up either. Even I wait until almost the middle of the mallem, but still sound good too. Yes, because I'm sleepy, I'm just carrying up here. And well, I'm sleepy after you too. Rather than me dying silly from a sleepy accident, I slept here anyway," I said at length. Kanya just looked at me with a look of disbelief. I also felt ashamed of my confession.
"Geez, *****so much lo Kanya. Let others be difficult just because they are not strong drowsiness," he means to himself. I smiled silently watching her behavior.
"Sori yes, I was going to go back as soon as I woke up. Uh but first one has a house."
"It's okay Mas, I should apologize for bothering Mas Araz. You're here, want to have breakfast together, right? Below there are those who sell chicken porridge really good."
My smile expands upon Kanya's invitation. It seems like not only my smile is expanding, but also my heart is blossoming. After being able to say good morning in person, I was even able to skip breakfast with Kanya. Once more.

Before long I waited for Kanya to change her costume yesterday with a more casual t-shirt and knee-length shorts. To complement his casual style, Kanya uses a black cardigan that matches her shorts. Although only washing his face, he looks fresh with bob hair shoulder to shoulder that is allowed to decompose.
The fragrance of green tea emanated from his body which was only a few centimeters away from me. We were in the elevator and had to share it with the other residents. That's why our distance is so close now.
"Why is that?"
"Soalnya chicken porridge is very famous in this area. So sometimes it's gonna take a long time to line up."
"No problem anyway, as long as the queue is the same as you, I'll just hold it," I said starting to launch a racketeering seduction action.
For some reason, seeing Kanya misbehave made me even more anxious at the woman who was eight years apart from me. Her timid face with a red hue on her cheek often made me want to pinch her.
"Mas Araz loves to be a gombalin guy. Not the same as the others, is it?"
"depends."
Kanya turned her head towards me who was trying to put on a serious face. Both of his eyes were wrinkled. I have been looking at what might be confusing to him.
"Depends on what that means?"
"It depends if you're jealous if I like girls. If you are jealous I will seduce all the girls to see how your pouting face," I replied making Kanya's face more blushing.
Even some people who were also using the same elevator, held back a smile hearing my answer. I don't care, as long as I can see Kanya's face shaming, but looking happy.
Unknowingly, I smiled at her adorable behavior.
Ting...
The elevator had already reached the ground floor when someone pulled Kanya's body away from me. The woman was as surprised as me. My gaze was examining the figure of the man I had met some time ago.
"Son, what are you doing here? How do you know I live here?" ask Kanya with anger that she can't stand.
The woman's face instantly turned irritated when she realized who the person who had already pulled her hand was. Anger was clearly sculpted on his face. And I could do nothing but watch the two men noisily not far from where I stood.
"It's not important I know who you live here from, but what the hell is this? Do you even live like that guy?"
"If you do what? I ask now, what does it have to do with you, where do I want to live and who is the same? What do you care?"
"Obviously I care about you! Because lo..."
"What, I what?"
"Because you're my sister. I also have a responsibility for your association and safety, Kanya. From now on," the voice of the Son began to humble itself as he said that sentence. Even so, it was quite clearly heard in my ears.
"Unfortunately, I don't need a brother like lo. I've been quite happy living without parents, let alone siblings" Kanya said before walking up to me and pulling my hand away from her place making a fuss.
The girl no longer took me to a chicken porridge stall that she said was delicious. He took me to the basement and headed towards my car. After drowning almost half of his body in the passenger seat, his cries broke without being held back.
There was nothing I could do but let the girl cry. My brain was ambiguous, all this time I thought that Putra was a special figure for Kanya in the past. But today I learned the fact that they have a bond as sisters who actually increasingly look like lovers in my eyes.
