The house without walls that were only supported by poles from teak trees looked deserted. Even so, it still looks clean and well maintained, even though the petals of frangipani flowers are scattered on the frozen floor. There was the only tomb that looked so cold. Before returning to Jakarta, Araz took the time to visit Adhyaksa's grave and wanted to greet his long-lost sister. Introducing him to Kanya.
"Hi Sa, how are you?" greet Araz with a trembling voice. The man was always hit with regret when visiting his sister's grave. He tried to hold back the tears from crying in front of Kanya. "Look, I brought your future sister-in-law. Name's Kanya. Pretty, right?"
A bitter smile adorned Araz's face. The door of regret that he had been locked tightly, opened forcefully. Grunting in his chest. Also spread in the bloodstream and every breath.
That bitter smile still lingered on Araz's lips. Had Aksa been alive, Araz might not have introduced Kanya as a sister-in-law. They could have faced each other and bet over Kanya. They often bet on everything. Even trivial matters to the difficult things are out of reach. More than matters of the heart, Aksa never wanted to succumb to the brother. And vice versa. Especially when Aksa finds out about Kanya. Of course the only wayangnya sister will not stay silent.
Now who wouldn't fall in love with Kanya? The woman has the perfect definition to make anyone captivated to her. Highlight his sharp eyes, the firm outline of his jaw, his thin lips, the pair of eyebrows that overshadowed his two eyes, his smile, also about all the things hidden within his cranium. Perfect.
Araz sure very well, if only Aksa was still alive, surely at this time he had grown into a handsome man figure and enough to make Kanya interested in him. Aksa is so talented. Almost all of the fields he mastered perfectly. Music, art, arithmetic, even to the point that there was nothing he could not master. Moreover, his age was not much different from Kanya. Maybe just a few months older.
It was also what made Araz quickly familiar with Arez. Because, when he saw the figure of Arez, he was always remembered by Adhyaksa who could never be touched again. Especially invited to debate something that is not important or just talk about trivial problems typical of men.
Adhyaksa breathed his last as a result of the same illness that Araz suffered. They also receive the same treatment. It's just that, Aksa's physical condition is weaker when compared to Araz. If Araz can still move like a normal person after undergoing treatment and treatment, Aksa can only lie weak in the hospital until his condition improves. If Araz can survive longer without relying on certain types of drugs, then Aksa almost always assisted his breathing with oxygen cylinders.
That is why Bagaskara finally brought his family to move to Bandung and chose to build a house in the hills. Aksa needs fresh air to keep her healthy. Although for the sake of it Bagaskara paid it at a price that is not cheap. Bagaskara had to willingly relinquish his highest position during his time as police chief in the Capital. The man just wanted, his two children to grow up healthy without lacking anything.
However, in the difficult times faced by Bagaskara and his wife and youngest child, Araz actually left home and chose to satisfy his selfishness. He has big dreams and can not be dammed his wishes. Bagaskara's eldest son never cared for Aksa who wanted her brother to stay by her side. Aksa needs Araz to give her strength, but the older brother never cares and is busy with his own world.
Alcatraz's mind aches when remembering his selfishness in the past. How could he so desperately refuse his sister's request to go home, even though Araz knew exactly his sister was trying her hardest to fight her critical period. How Araz prefers to run away just because of his bad relationship with his father. Though the man who had bequeathed his entire nature to Araz, could never really be angry with him. For Bagaskara, Araz and Aksa are both fruits of God's precious jewel that he must take full care of. Bagaskara just wants the best for them. However, for Araz, Bagaskara's attitude was actually considered to pair his legs.
After years of Aksa's death, Araz may now understand why his father was so hard on him. Especially since the death of his sister. Araz knew very well, Bagaskara did not want to feel lost once more. And, Araz now really understands, if losing a loved one is more painful than the kind of pain that exists on earth. Araz almost felt all the pain, but losing Aksa was a painful thing that could never be cured. Moreover, the pain was wrapped in regret that could not be easily healed.
Araz's tears fell. The man remembers well when Aksa asked him to come home, before his sister was unconscious and left this world forever.
Mom, I really want to see you today. Araz is coming home.
Araz's coming home today, right? Go home, Mom. I want to meet Mas Araz.
Mas Araz, go home!
Come on, go home!
Mas Araz's. Go home!
The second, third and so on followed the first message sent by Aksa and had not received an answer. His only sister also made several calls that made Araz disturbed. The concentration of the man is divided. Irritated, he turned off the phone and focused on shooting the product he was working on. This time, he must not fail after the previous day his schedule fell apart due to events he could not avoid.
By midnight, when Araz activated his phone, a message from his mother knocked down all the egos that grew up in him.
Aksa breathed his last before magrib. He had previously lost consciousness. Go home, son. We buried Aksa tonight.
Araz is losing his way. Body weakens. Like a compass, he could no longer find the north. His heart is in pain. Tight chest. It hurt so much that he couldn't breathe regularly. Araz seemed to feel the death that had also picked up Aksa.
Like a man of loyalty, Araz drove his car recklessly to Bandung. He no longer cared if he had to catch up with Aksa in a different way. It was precisely in Araz's heart that he thought, even if he died that night, he wanted Bagaskara to feel more pain than anything in the world. It was all for the sake of avenging Araz's heartache to his father.
"I'm sorry Mas Araz, Sa. Until now, Mas Araz has not been able to be a good brother for you. Even visiting you, rarely did Mas Araz do." Araz smiled bitterly. "Don't you, Mas Araz still likes to fight with Dad and so lazy to go home. How selfish is Araz, right? It feels like Mas Araz is ashamed to visit you, but no day is missed without missing you. Greetings that Mas Araz secretly entrusted to the guardian angels, right up to you?"
Araz could no longer hold back his tears. In Kanya's arms, she was crying like a child. He felt sinful, as a result of never ignoring Aksa's request. Even at the last moment his brother was in this world. Araz felt so cruel. It was also the same thing that had made him refuse the request of Arez who wanted to donate a heart to him. Araz remembered Aksa. Had Aksa been lucky to get that help, perhaps Araz's remorse wouldn't have been this deep.
"God is still the best screenwriter, Mas. However, we try to challenge or reject what has been outlined."
"He's so young, His. And I'm not a good brother to him. At the last moment I chose to drift in my world and ignored Aksa's call. If only ... "Araz's speech was interrupted. He could no longer continue his sentence. For now, there is no point in him supposing a thousand times. The past cannot be changed.
