Alcatraz's face was still visible when they returned to Jakarta. Their original plan was to stop by Arez's parents' house before returning to the capital, but they were forced to cancel due to Araz's condition. The man would not have been able to answer the question that Arez's parents would have asked him about his swollen face had he and Kanya stopped by their house.
During the trip there was not much conversation between them. Araz is too focused on the streets - perhaps also the remnants of the regrets that exist for Aksa. Kanya is more silent to give Araz a chance to embrace the wounds he feels.
Only occasionally, Kanya invites him to talk when Araz starts to not focus on the road. Kanya offers to replace Araz by driving, but the man refuses and does not let her take over the wheel.
"If Mas Araz is tired, we can stop first. No need to rush. It's the same permission Mas Hanung also if we don't go to the office today," Kanya said when Araz's concentration began to not focus. Several times he almost came out of the body of the road and it made Kanya more anxious.
"We stopped at the rest of the front area huh." Araz relent. For this time he complied with Kanya's request before anything unexpected happened to them, as the man was not focused on driving.
Actually, Araz was still thinking about the events that had just happened. It has been a long time since Aksa died, but only now does he know the contents of his sister's heart. If it wasn't for Kanya giving him the understanding that Aksa might have left a message for him, Araz wouldn't have known about his sister's feelings either.
Araz was devastated. Sure oes. All this time he admitted if he never gave his time to Aksa. Not only that, Araz also never cared if Aksa really needed him as a supporter who had a big enough share in his life. Araz thought only of himself until Aksa closed her eyes for good. Araz was not fully aware of his mistake as a big brother. As child. Until he finds Pandora's box that holds Aksa's feelings for some time.
The man came back crying as they arrived at the rest area. His thoughts were still filled about Aksa. Even though his parents had forbidden them not to return to Jakarta today. But, Araz was pushy just because he didn't want his parents to worry about seeing the situation. Now, it was Kanya who felt unbearable to see how tormented Alcatraz was.
"Mas, I can't give you any words of comfort, because I know that the most painful pain is loss. I'm not gonna ask you not to cry or have to stop crying, but ... ." Kanya took a long breath. He took Alcatraz's hand and carried it in the woman's arms. "Already, if you want to cry, just finish it. But, you should hear my word after this. Mas, you're the greatest brother to Aksa. That's what you should know. You must remember that there is not one of the greatest brothers in the world for Aksa other than you. The message Aksa left was not to judge you, Mas, but rather to convey how valuable you made him."
Kanya patted Araz's shoulder gently. The man is still sobbing. Little by little it starts to fade. A soft snoring sounded. The man fell asleep in Kanya's arms.
"You must be very tired. You should have heard Father tell Eomma to stay another day," whispered Kanya still did not let go of her embrace.
...****************...
Araz realized that he was closing his eyes at this moment. He realized that he was in Kanya's arms after arriving at the rest area and decided to pause. He was too unfocused on the streets and he didn't want to bother Kanya. So he chose to stop.
However, who would have thought if the initial goal was actually a cry and ended up making Kanya embrace him. And, who would have thought that when he closed his eyes, he dreamed of Aksa.
No, it wasn't a dream. However, Alcatraz's subconscious memories have been piled up many years ago. He remembered Aksa had dreamed of exploring the world with him. Although his only puppet sister knew that he would never recover, but his spirit of life always amazed Araz.
They were both born with the same condition. Both have congenital heart disease that is quite chronic. Although the state of Araz is much better, but it is Aksa who has the highest fighting spirit. He never hesitated to dream. As for Araz it is very difficult to have a passion for life. However, it is sombrono and likes to be arbitrary when feeling the condition of his body better.
Even so, it still does not make Araz have a higher spirit of life. He did all that delinquency just to challenge the father, and not just because he was grateful to have a better life than the younger brother. Even when Arez offered his heart to give to Araz, he refused. What was the reason if not because he did not want to live longer.
Now in his sleep Araz recalled the incident, he felt increasingly useless. His guilt for Aksa is getting bigger and he cannot bear it.
The man was crying. Sobbing in the arms of Kanya who did not also take it off until she fell asleep.
Araz felt it all. Even when Kanya lashed out in a soft voice until it pierced through the soup. Araz heard. However, the man's soul was too sick to make him just want to close his eyes. He was sucked in a vortex of sadness and guilt to Aksa.
"If only I could grant you one wish," Araz's inner voice screamed as he recalled his sister's wish. However, there was nothing he could do now but regret it. In his subconscious, he heard Kanya's voice again.
"Mas, we realize Aksa's dream to travel around the world yuk. From Sabang to Merauke. Uh, Jeju Island looks good too. We can stop by Soul. I'd like to know a grandfather who passed on almost all of his DNA to you."
Araz smile. Although he can not now distinguish between dreams and reality, in his heart believed that he would embrace the dreams of Aksa to explore the world.
