It was a busy weekend. From morning Araz asked me to get ready. Though the clock on my bedroom wall still shows at 06:00 in the morning. While the man had been busy in the kitchen for some time. When I woke up, the smell of food was already smelling from the kitchen and stirred up my appetite. Since I returned to Jakarta my weight seems to have gone up three kilograms from the last time I weighed. That's because Araz wouldn't let me starve.
As it is today. Last night he decided to sleep in my apartment to prepare provisions for our picnic today. He said it was a holiday and there was a chance to enjoy some time together. That's why he took me on a picnic. I just agree without wanting to reject it. However, I will not be able to refuse Araz's invitation to keep me happy, although lately he is busy with various office affairs that can not be left and must he himself handle it.
"What's Araz cooking? So good at the smell? So hungry" I said to avoid asking her to take a shower. It's still 06:00 and there should still be half an hour to enjoy my bedtime.
"No word hungry, take a shower first, get ready, we have breakfast," said Araz still busy behind the frying pan. I don't know what else he prepared. His face that was so serious about preparing provisions looked so handsome. It seems, I am now starting to unhesitatingly admit also praising every single thing related to Araz. In fact, I will not hesitate to show if I really love this man.
On a whim, I walked over and hugged her from behind. I felt his body stiffen. It may also inhibit its activity of holding a spatula as well as frying simultaneously. Even so he still let me hug him. I was peeking out from behind Araz's back what he was actually cooking on the frying pan.
"Oh, the beaches smell really good" I said as I knew Araz was making fried rice complete with slices of sausage, meatballs, chicken, and scrambled eggs.
"Yes that's why take a shower, honey, that's why we have breakfast. Okay?" said Araz while releasing my hand from his waist. Before pushing my body away, he kissed my forehead and my two eyes. "Well, take a bath there, you stink of tofu."
"Ish, you know the smell is still being kissed." I stuck out my tongue before I went back into the room and obeyed Araz's request to take a shower and get ready to leave.
"Bring him not for long, Him. We have a long way to go today."
Araz's screams are still heard from my room. Yes, of course it sounds. This apartment is not as big as the house left by Father who is now still well maintained by Mama and Eka's father. Or the size of Araz's apartment which now belongs to the Son. So miss them. Though there has not been a month since my return from the city where I grew and developed, but it feels like I have missed and want to go back home. Ironic not, but before I hated the word home. If it wasn't the man who was cooking that strengthened me, maybe I would still have lost my way until now.
Meeting Araz was a lucky thing for me. And, having that man by my side is a form of God's love that I never doubted. Really, I don't exaggerate to think of Araz as a form of God-given affection. In fact, the man was present when I really felt alone and was devastated by circumstances that I could not avoid. Then God sent reinforcements through the form of Araz which of course I am grateful for its existence. If it wasn't for that man, maybe now I would have piled up regret.
Yes, because I never knew what would happen if I remained stubborn and refused Eka's father's request to go home. What if Mama didn't survive an accident that required her to have surgery or something worse happened? I can't imagine. My decision to go home was and should not have been.
"Him, don't take a long shower," Araz's voice sounded again. This time closer. Surely the man went into the room and either prepared especially. Though this was only a one-day trip, but it seemed that Araz paid so much attention to the entire preparation that everything seemed perfect. Most importantly, don't let anything get left behind.
"Relax, I took a shower not long. At least another hour had just finished," I chanted to make the man knock on the bathroom door.
...****************...
It was never in my mind that Araz would take me to the beach after a grueling nearly two-hour trip. However, all of that paid off when it came to its destination. The place that is not so crowded makes the atmosphere of the beach more comfortable. Especially the sight that spoils the eyes.
I don't know where Araz knew this place from, but I admit that the choice was perfect. From where we stand today, we can see cliffs stretching with coral rocks that stand firmly in the distance. Although not as high as the cliff in the distance, this place is also quite high. Need to walk down the path if you want to go to the beach and play the waves that seem calm.
While Araz rolled out a mat and prepared the supplies that had been brought, I chose to take a walk around the cliff and enjoy the breeze of the beach. Sometimes I aim for moments that can not be missed just through a polaroid camera that I deliberately brought.
"His, here it is," cried Araz as the man had finished preparing his provisions and laid out a mat. I smiled at him.
"Yes, Mas. Wait, there's a moment that can't be missed" I said as soon as I knew Araz was sitting and smiling at me. The man's smile grew wider when he found out I was directing his alarm at him.
"Your hobby is now a photographer huh. Let me see how it turned out?"
I just laughed in response to Araz's statement. While waiting for the photo print on the polaroid paper so, I walked towards him. Kupandangi a variety of foods that arouse the taste. Araz knows best what I want. I crumpled the strawberry pieces, then lay down next to Araz who was still sitting in his original position.
"Ck, it's really pretty, Mas Araz. It is not wrong that many people have come here. The source from here turns out," I said as the polaroid paper became more and more clearly showing Araz's image.
"Began, try where here look."
Laughter breaks. I showed you my shots that seemed to make Araz like it, too. We both laughed while enjoying pieces of fruit that felt so fresh beat the weather today which was quite blistering. Even so, from being together, we are still happy.
