The launch of MediaPena was a success. Many welcomed the enthusiasm of the cyber media that I initiated with Hanung. Even our previous colleagues shuddered two thumbs up on the bold move we took. They congratulated us on leaving our comfort zone and being able to be independent.
Moreover, the launch is not only marked by a mere thanksgiving, but there is also a simple public discussion about social politics that invites famous figures ranging from activists to government officials. For this business, I entrust to Hanung fully who is longer in the world of journalism than me who is more hobby of photography and writing about culture. I don't want to take the risk of changing the theme in the middle of a discussion that has been connected and comfortable between the moderator and the source just because the chat is boring.
"Hey, Raz. I never thought, you finally came out of LF and made your own media. The chief director. Cool this one."
Bianca, a colleague while still at the LF greeted me who was standing some distance away from the special stage of public discussion on the MediaPena office page. The woman attended the invitation on behalf of the company. If only Kanya had been here, last night's chatter about her jealousy would have looked at us with a jutek face. Because, since I first knew, Bianca this is the most intense approach to me.
"Thank you. If not for Hanung's invitation, where dare I make a media company like gini. Big risk. The competition is tight too. If it is not up to date, it will be the same as other media."
"Gue is sure, that MediaPena will be successful in the future. Uh yeah, you how are you? Didn't I see Kanya from now on? I heard from Sazkia said you're all made up, right?"
I smiled faintly in response to Bianca's question. Although inwardly he cursed why Sazkia with her bucket made an announcement to everyone. I'm sure, the news must have spread throughout the LF if the gossip queen had known the news of my relationship with Kanya. And obviously, the point of Bianca's question was just to ascertain whether or not I was still dating Kanya.
"Yes, he has to go back to his town. There's business he can't stay."
"You're not in a relationship anymore, are you? I'm ready anytime Raz, for example ... ."
"Sori, I have to meet the guest first, Bi," I said before Bianca finished her sentence. I knew exactly what the woman wanted to say.
Just look at his face, immediately tangled when I decided to go to meet one of the colleagues who had supported MediaPena financially. I secretly smiled faintly. Already knew I was keeping my distance from the start, but he still insisted on approaching me. He should know, if men hate being approached in such an aggressive manner. Well, unless the guy has the same character as Bianca.
Long enough I chatted with one of MediaPena's co-workers, until Lea approached me and reminded me that it was time to schedule my plane departure. I glanced at the clock on my wrist. It's almost noon. Some of the crew in charge of organizing the event had also started to get busy with their HT. Including Hanung who is still on the mini stage that we prepared beforehand for the public dialogue.
Without giving me a word, Hanung also ended the public dialogue that he guided. The event was limited to midday, because I had to fly to East Java to pick up Kanya. Not that I wanted to act selfish, but it was Hanung who suggested that I quickly pick up the woman. He said he couldn't wait to work with Kanya again. Though Kanya still did not answer, want to join MediaPena or not. However, Hanung was so enthusiastic and convinced that Kanya would join us.
"Kok lo is still here? Buruan. Already, I handle the rest. You just go get me, Kanya," said Hanung when he saw me standing by the table that provided various kinds of food and snacks.
"Yes, I just make sure, whether the public dialogue you guide will be successful or not."
"Damn lo."
I laughed in response to Hanung's comment. Before he finally pushed me away when he saw Bianca walking towards us.
"There's Grandma Drop by the way here. Mending lo hunuan go before ke-gep same him."
"Grandmother Lampir? Bianca mean lo?" I still don't understand Hanung's words.
"Who else, who else. It's hunted there. I don't need to take you to the airport, do I?"
Without answering Hanung's question, I patted the man on the shoulder and entered my study. Suitcase and some necessities I've been preparing since this morning. There's not much I brought.
Daddy's mad big. Evidently. I am the only hope left. Especially at his old age. I just want to live in peace and want to be with my son and his wife in a comfortable home. With my son-in-law and grandchildren of course.
Several times he has asked me to attend matchmaking events that I of course avoided. He said I was too old to be married and someone had to take care of me. Especially after knowing my condition had deteriorated some time ago. Dad got harder on me and ended up selling the apartment I bought in my own sweat. Really, if I remember, there's a sense of disappointment with Dad's attitude. Especially when you know the fact that the Son bought the apartment. It's magical not the way the universe works. He always brings closer things that we avoid the most.
"Mas, before you go can you please sign this file for a minute?" I was shocked when suddenly Lea was already standing across from my desk. I don't know when the woman entered the room. "Sorry, Mas. I knocked on the door with no answer, so I went straight in. Sorry, I'm surprised."
"Oh, that's okay, Le. There's something I think. Btw, just relax if you talk to me or Hanung, let's just say we're sisters. Don't be too stiff, "I said as I received the file from Lea and read it carefully before putting my signature on it.
"Sorry, Mas. I am not used to slang. Call your boss Mas only, that's more than enough."
I smiled at the woman's statement. He may be three years younger than Kanya. Single parents who support a young child. She divorced her husband due to domestic violence. At the age of their second marriage.
Hanung and I knew him by accident, when a friend of our lawyer was handling his divorce case. His calm and innocent carrying made us feel pity. Moreover, he seemed to have undoubted potential. Although only a graduate of SMK because of DO while in college, Lea has intelligence that deserves a thumbs up. That is why we choose as general administration manager who takes care of all the needs of MediaPena correspondence.
"Have, any other files I need to sign?"
"While there is not yet, my. I'll send you an email if there's a file that needs signature, Mas Araz."
"Okay then, I'm leaving now. Akur-akur Loh Tian, as long as I do not exist," I said calling one of the reporters MediaPena who often bother Lea. There hasn't been a week of working together, they've made a ground floor storm.
I know what the man meant, Tian just wanted to steal Lea's attention. While Lea, not a woman who is easily tempted by the sweet words of men. Perhaps, life experiences made him act tough on himself.
"Yes, Mas. Be careful on the road. Greetings to Kanya's mother."
A smile graced the corner of my lips. "Yes, I'll send your greetings to Kanya."
After saying goodbye to Lea and Hanung who were already in his room, I left for the airport. Flying picked up half of my soul that was still left far away in his hometown. In my heart I laughed. I never felt so happy while traveling. Just this time, I left as if without a burden. I had to leave responsibility early in the week.
Before driving to the airport, I took the device out of my shirt pocket and typed a message on Kanya.

Hi, Kanya. We'll meet soon. Wait for me to go back to your town. I miss and can't wait to meet. Hugs to you. 🤗
Anya
Yes, Mas. Here I am also ready to go to the airport to pick up Mas Araz. Be careful on the road. 💕
Kanya's reply made the smile on my face wider.
