The Dark Slayer's

The Dark Slayer's
[S2] Chapter 6 Part 4

The sound of water droplets, echoing in the eardrum. The atmosphere that had been boisterous due to the explosion, had now subsided after the huge explosion a moment ago. Inside the piles of buildings and the ground, I was still able to breathe due to the slight gap. The whole body feels crumpled because it falls from a height. But, it was fortunate that I turned into a black figure, otherwise, maybe my head had been shattered.

In addition, a large wall but cracked, making me not hit by rocks and soil. My leg was slightly pinched by the rocks, but it was able to come off because I pulled it by force. Yes, with this figure, it should be fine. As far as I'm concerned, the new cells formed by this virus can make the body strong and even regenerate again. Even within certain limits.

“Gosh, this place is very narrow, I can't move freely here.”

The air also did not get much into the place where I am now, the temperature was quite hot. Among the ruins, I crawled, trying to get through the gaps by sliding rocks and walls. For a moment I was silent, eyes staring straight at an object glittering in the sunshine.

The ruins are a little wet, so there are some puddles at the bottom. Perhaps, because of the heavy rain that night that caused water to collect somewhere in the old building, then when it was destroyed, the water fell.

“Hm .. weird.” Closer and closer, it appears that the shiny object earlier turned out to be a rugby-shaped crystal with a clear color like water. “What is this?” I immediately took the thing with my right hand.

In an instant, there was an energy seeping within me. The energy made my black figure active by itself. “This is what they call soul energy?” I wondered. When that energy came in, it felt like it had been hit by a low-power electric shock, with a slight jolt to trigger a change in form.

Before long, the crystal changed color to black, my change of form also ended. I looked at the cridtal in my hand carefully, nothing special happened. “How do they use this thing? If it's not wrong, Darwis put it on the chest.”

I directly stuck the crystal to my chest, nothing changed. However, shortly afterwards, the crystal stuck to the chest until it tightly stuck together. Among the crystals attached, there is a black color with black stripes. “It looks like this thing is directly united with my body cells.”

Now I don't have a gun or any weapons. Only the pants and footwear are still intact after being hit by a series of attacks some time ago. The only way to get out of here is to rely on the mystical power of soul energy absorbed and processed by the crystals attached to my chest.

But, how do you do it? Does it have to be for several months to use it? It was too time consuming and troublesome for me.

“Hm, let's think.” I carefully shifted the rocks and rubble, because if it was careless, then everything would collapse.

Finally there was room for me to sit cross-legged among these ruins. Maybe first I should try the breathing method, like I've learned at some point. My mind calms, my breath adjusts while closing my eyes.

Suddenly, I felt something warm spread all over my body. My body is more comfortable than ever. Apparently, this was an effect because it absorbed the soul energy using the crystals present in the chest. Immediately I opened my eyes when there was a push from within the body. The breath somehow became breathless.

“It turns out not to be as easy as I thought.” For a moment I racked my brain to find a solution to this problem. “Ah, maybe the cause is because my crystal can no longer hold energy.”

Let's try this new power. My hands raised up, the energy that was inside the crystal in my chest flowed warmly into the palm of the hand. Moments later, an explosion occurred which resulted in the wall above my head, being destroyed instantly. And it turned out, subconsciously I had turned into a black figure.

Inside the flying dust, I prepared to jump. The energy I gathered on the soles of the feet, with a single jolt, I jumped straight up, disrupting what was on footing.

Like a dream, I floated high in the air, looking at the scenery of the forest and the dead city. In the middle of the city died, there is a tall monument with a brown color. “Could it be the city center?”

When I glanced all over my body, I was immediately struck by something like cloth, but not cloth, it was black like ink. “Is this a shadow? I can't manipulate shadows.”

“Darwis?” Immediately I set foot, running with all my might towards that figure.

Yes, he was indeed a Dervish, his body was stiff, his hands were still tightly holding onto a sword. However, I was immediately unable to say anything. The young man's eyes closed, his entire body dry. What the hell happened to him?

“Wow.” As I step back.

Dervish moved back, but his breath was as breathless as after running. “He-hey! What happened to you?” I asked that question to confirm about the thing that made him like this.

He turned his face to me, the sword he had been holding, he just let go. “It turns out you're alive, huh?”

I should have asked you that, it's annoying. Yeah, but thankfully he's fine. I thought he was dead.

“It doesn't matter, just answer my question.”

Not yet had time to answer the question, Darwis immediately sat on the ground. It's a bit of a relief because the chaos some time ago has subsided, and it's possible that they moved. Ah, no matter, the important thing is that I survived and was lucky to gain new powers.

Hm, wait a minute, this is weird, why are there no fangs in my mouth when it turns into a black figure? When I looked all over my body, my skin had completely turned black, just like my usual shape changes. Then, eh?

In my left hand there is a claw, but the right hand is not. So unbalanced, why is it like this? Oh, come on, when I was just happy, and now I'm immediately disappointed because of this change in form. Can't the gods give me pleasure forever?

“You must be wondering why your form has become so ugly.” Darwis looked up.

“It's still better than you,” I scoffed back.

The half-human creature, exhaled a long breath. “So far, I've never seen anyone like you, half a black creature.”

Half a black creature? Does that mean I will be forever in this form. God, why is it like this? Don't tell me I'm cursed.

“Actually it's quite normal.”

“Eh?” Once again I gawked when Darwis said that this was perfectly normal.

“I told you, that's perfectly normal. Some may have known that the energy you absorb with crystals can trigger permanent cell changes. And usually it happens because its users carelessly absorb energy.”

In other words, I am a fool. Hiks, pathetic.
