The Dark Slayer's
Chapter 3: The New Book

My body felt heavy to wake up, and this vision of the eyes was still foggy. I slowly adjusted my breath to be stable.

A few moments later, my vision began to clear and not be foggy anymore. However, my body still felt pain when moved.

Despite the pain, I forced myself to get up and glance around. In an instant, I stiffened. The hand that was supporting this body, inexplicably squeezed to the point that it almost made me fall.

“What is this?” I asked because I was so confused by the situation that was happening.

How could I not be surprised, around me right now, it was such a mess. There are many animal footprints and blood splashes here.

“Wolf ...? Ellise?” I asked again as I continued to glance around.

No answer at all.

I tried to stand up, but my legs hurt so much I couldn't ignore them. Besides, there's one more strangeness going on here. When I woke up, this body was so clean, the wounds were also bandaged neatly.

What the hell is going on? Why is everything like this? Wasn't that time I was in a feud with Roman's group and an earthquake occurred?

Questions popped into my head. But none of them I managed to answer.

“Argh ...” I groaned in pain as I forced myself to wake up. However, it did not weaken my determination to get back up.

This leg does not stop shaking along with pain that also does not improve. Even so, I keep moving forward.

My eyes were once again wide-eyed when I saw the expanse of blood that had dried up, blackened from the sun. The blood was mixed with torn clothes scattered.

Unknowingly, this leg had already stepped forward, then squeezed to the point of making me fall to my knees on the ground.

“What the fuck is this?” I said while picking up a piece of worn cloth.

My tears were dripping hard, my chest tight as I remembered that the tear of the clothes was similar to the one used by Ellise.

“Ha!” I groaned loudly, I could not bear the sadness.

I lowered my face, then pressed the torn clothes I was holding with both hands. It didn't take long, the torn clothes were instantly wet by tears.

Moments later, my voice became raucous, my throat was sore, my eyes were swollen, and my breath was wheezing.

I wiped my tears and then lowered both hands. Right now my heart is still filled with sadness and guilt. But as much as possible I hold him.

I stood up, both hands clenched tightly, the whole heart filled with vengeance.

“Job!” I said while looking up. “I'll kill whoever killed Ellise. There will never be anything I let go of, even though I have to die.”

After making up my mind, I walked towards the north. Along the way, I found no one but myself in this forest.

A few steps ahead, these eyes saw a tree that had a large hole. I quickly approached the tree and put my right hand in the hole.

Just then, my hand touched something chewy with a slightly rough surface. Without waiting any longer, I immediately pulled out this hand.

What I got out of the tree hole was a piece of bread wrapped in brown paper. I tore the paper that wrapped the bread and ate the contents.

The bread I eat right now is so bland. However, for some reason, I felt satisfied when I ate it. While chewing, I walked further north and found a small river.

“It so happens that I am thirsty,” muttered as I walked to the riverbank.

I threw away the paper wrapping the bread after I finished eating and bowed my body towards the river. Pile both palms together and put them in the water. In an instant, the water filled it, then I immediately picked it up and drank the water.

After I finished drinking, I immediately rushed towards the north. On the road I walk today, there are a lot of animal footprints leading to my destination.

I followed the footprints, until I got to the end. There are only a few footprints, and some turn the other way.

Now, let's think, what caused these animals to rush towards the north? Could something be scaring them? Butwhat?

I put my hand on my chin while thinking about the answer to the question. For a moment I was silent and twisted my brain to find an answer. A few moments later, I thought of something.

The answer to my question is none other than the strangeness of this forest itself. For here, I could easily find bread in a hole in the trunk of a tree. In addition, there are still many unsolved mysteries.

From here I theorize that there is actually something else hidden here.

Suddenly I remembered Wolf's words, that is, 'The way to survive in this forest is only one, that is to kill or be killed, that is it.'

At first I was very afraid of it, but now I don't care anymore if I have to dirty my hands with enemy blood. I lowered my hand and stopped thinking about it while walking in an uncertain direction.

***

It was almost dark, I stopped walking and sat leaning under a big tree. The atmosphere was so quiet, because since I started traveling, I did not meet a single person here.

It's weird, I should have met some people. But why can't I find them?

I wondered to myself, but never found the answer to that question.

Klang's! Klang's! Klang's!

Suddenly I stood up and glanced to and fro when I heard the sound of a sword clash. A moment later, the voice was heard again by this ear. I immediately turned to the left, walking slowly towards the source of the sound.

A few steps ahead, there were 2 young men who were fighting using swords. Seeing that, I settled down behind a tree and watched them.

One of the two men, a short black-haired young man, jumped behind after his attack was successfully held back by the opponent, the crib-haired young man.

The kribo-haired youth darted forward towards the short-haired youth. He quickly swung his sword horizontally from right to left. In response to the attack, the short-haired youth immediately jumped backwards. The attack of the kribo-haired youth missed.

As his first attack missed, the crib-haired youth raised his sword to the upper right, then returned to slashing it vertically.

To withstand the attack, the short-haired youth crouched down and crossed his sword overhead.

The clinking of the sword echoed in my ears. The two young men were still fighting swords with each other. I just kept quiet and kept watching them.

After a while of watching, I slipped away from the scene.

It was night, but the light of the moon lit up my path until I reached the front of a cave. I paused for a moment, hesitating to enter.

Suddenly there was the sound of a snake hissing from inside the cave, and I subconsciously took a few steps back. I paused the intention to enter, then left the cave.

The further I walked, my feet seemed powerless to hold weight. Sweat splashed all over the body, and breathing began to shorten.

When I was about to stop, suddenly the glittering tip of the sword was exposed to the moonlight, directed at my face.

Ah, how is this? What am I supposed to do?

As the questions popped up in my head, my body stiffened and all my nerves stiffened.

Why is my fate always unlucky?
