The Dark Slayer's

The Dark Slayer's
[S2] Chapter 6 Part 1

As usual, we started the journey. Last night we had a chance to find a forest bhabi to be a dinner. And of course there is still something left for breakfast in the morning. If life here was peaceful, I'm sure that there would be a lot of people at home who wouldn't even want to leave this forest. But I don't know, humans have different traits from each other.

“Are you sure we'll soon reach that mysterious northern region?” ask Flicker who is on my left, to Darwis who leads in front.

“I can be sure that my prediction is correct. After all, the instincts I have had have been well honed during my time here.”

I wonder what distance has to do with the instincts he's honing. Could it be that he was about to say that our distance to the northern region was close to just a hunch? Yeah, it doesn't matter, because my gut also says the right thing a lot. So, it does not matter to make a bet, only luck determines the outcome.

The further one walked inside the forest, a thick fog suddenly enveloped the surroundings. The ground here is more humid than it was before, though not strange, because last night it was raining so heavily. However, being under such a shady tree, I was able to sleep soundly. Although a little wet because of the splash of rain.

Suddenly, my gut felt something was strange here. I stopped my steps, looked around to find out the oddity. Suddenly, something slimy ambushed me from behind. Even slippery mucus directly soaks throughout the body.

“Please!”

I thrashed, then Darwis came with his sword, then released me from the ambush. My breath was as breathless as running. What ambushed me was a very large strange plant.

“What kind of plant is this?” I grumbled as I wiped the disgusting slippery slime from the body.

Dervishes around. “This is an insectivorous plant that has evolved to be bigger and stronger.”

“Don't tell me that strange smell is here because of their foul scent.”

“It is difficult to admit it, but it is the truth.”

I didn't have time to answer, Flicker's screams suddenly interjected. “Hei! Here!”

Me and Darwis ran towards him. Once again I widened my eyes, my legs had involuntarily retreated a few steps. My body immediately stiffened, looking at the vast land filled with large carnivorous plants.

I gulped, speechless at the sight of this terrible situation. If one moves just a little, maybe the three of us will be devoured by the plants. “It is impossible to pass through it without changing form.” It seems like the only way now.

“No! You're wrong.” Calmly and confidently, Darwis pulled out his sword. “There is one more way to get out of here, which is to slash them.”

“What do you want to do?” As soon as I asked that question.

“Don't tell me that there's another secret to your sword,” Flicker said.

Darwis let out a heavy sigh. “If you can easily change, then things might be more safely under control. But, to make a change of form is not easy, so I chose this way because it is very efficient and does not take much time and energy.”

As I thought before, the sword he was wearing had a certain secret. And now is the time I see clearly what secrets are stored there. It's possible that my estimation of magic can be seen. Moreover, the abnormality of his power that could crush a lion's head with a whip was still not revealed.

Silently, Darwis let out a long sigh while looking straight ahead, where the carnivorous plants were. Can the sword bring out fire? Or maybe something else. Let's look at it.

“Actually, who is this him?” flicker said in response to this strange incident.

“Man with full of secrets in him,” I replied indifferently.

Dervish raised his sword up, then mounted the horses to shake the sword. The fire on his sword was getting smoldering like it was being ignited by something. The air temperature is getting hot, making sweat out of the pores of the body, washing away the body.

Without a cue, Darwis slashed his sword forward vertically, from top to bottom. The fierce fire waves instantly burned away everything that was before Dervish at this moment. The wide path finally opened because the carnivorous plants had been burned to the ground by the fire produced by the sword of Dervish.

“In-he's really human, right?” With trembling hands, Flicker pointed at Dervish.

I'm still gawking, can't believe this is really happening. However, it's not strange anymore, because we're in a very strange place in the middle of nowhere. So strangely, everything 'there's' here.

“It seems, you guys consider this a dream.” Suddenly Darwis spoke up while sheathing back his sword. “However, what you see is real. In this forest there is a mysterious energy, or usually referred to as soul energy.”

“That means ...” I'm remembering something.

“Yes, everything is interconnected because of this energy.”

I don't want to believe it, but everything is clear now. Why this forest could be formed, and what caused the Klan battle had been very clear the reason. Nevertheless, I had to remain calm in order to stay afloat until the end.

“We don't have time anymore, do we?” With a breath I stood up. “Let's solve all these problems as soon as possible.”

Darwis turned his eyes to me. His eyes stared intently at my eyes which were now filled with spirit.

“It seems that you are becoming stronger and ambitious now.” A faint smile formed on Dervish's lips. “If that's what you want, then let's finish quickly, then sleep soundly.”

“Maybe when you wake up after a deep sleep, you have reached another realm quietly.”

“Hehe, it's better than having to settle in this strange forest forever.”

Immediately I set foot forward, following Darwis who has been walking since. This will be the most dangerous trip I've ever been on. But now it doesn't matter to me anymore. Because the road to the end of my goal is getting closer.

A vendetta? I will definitely finish with the end of this forest. Haih, I became more and more excited towards the end of the forest as well as my goal. But after all that, what did I do? Ah, just think about it after the problem here is over.

“How long do you think all this will last, Leon?” A sudden question, posed by Flicker on my left.

“Entahlah ...” My eyes are still straight ahead. “But soon it will be visible.”
