[C3] Chapter 10: Tan

Deserts full of dust are where they are now. Leon kept glancing around to make sure the area was safe from danger.

Sun looked up, the bright cloudy sky made the sight there handsome so beautiful. The wind blew, the dust flew slightly making the vision blurry.

Leon did not care and walked slowly forward. His steps were quite slow, whereas his eyes were unceasingly wary of glancing here and there.

Stopped, he took a deep breath. His mind went back empty and calm.

"It looks like we're not going to meet a single Fantasy Being here" Leon said, slowly.

"Then we have to find him. Our job is to hunt the Chimera, on top of which we leave it." Sun thoughtfully said the sentence.

The short black haired youth and wearing a red uniform were seen exhaling out of nowhere. Leon turned around to observe him for a moment, then looked around again.

"We'd better split up" said the young man Leon had seen.

Actually Leon did not care much, because he was sure that his strength would not lose. If you have to split up, for Leon it is not a problem.

"I see what you mean, Theo. But, we don't know what kind of enemies are out there" replied Sun.

"No, Sun. I think it'd be better if we split up." Suddenly a young man with a sword in his right hand interrupted.

"Yes, it is true that we can find prey so quickly when it splits. But, Gild," this time the interrupter was the shoulder-length blonde, "as Sun said, we don't know what kind of enemy is out there."

If it's like this, Leon believes the conclusion will be very difficult to obtain. If you think more deeply, actually split or not it has weaknesses and advantages of each. With a split, the scope of the search is greater, but the power to face the enemy is inadequate.

Meanwhile, if you choose to continue together, the search scope is narrower but the strength to face the enemy is sufficient. Leon scratched his head, the four people in front of him were having a heated argument.

"We're going south."

Simultaneously after Sun blurted out the sentence, they all moved simultaneously following Sun. However, Leon was silent for a moment, then immediately ran in the very back row.

Hey, Ellise! Leon called out to Ellise who was sitting inside his head.

Whahuh? ask Ellise, indifferently.

The mo! Hmph! Ellise looks sullen at being played by Leon.

Nah! Leon shook his head. You deserve more than this. Even if it had to sacrifice all my strength.

Then you won't be an ordinary man.

Yeah, but I think it's better than having to keep this curse called power.

Eh? Didn't you want power so much? Perhaps Ellise's remark is related to when Leon was still in the mysterious forest, but there are also other possibilities.

His group continued to run, dust flying from their footprints. The scorching sun was quite stinging, lucky they brought supplies in the form of water in a bag.

For a moment they all stopped, rested and drank some water. As far as the eye can see there is only sand and buildings that are no longer habitable because they are dangerous. In the middle of this hot desert, they were forced to stop without shelter.

Leon received several offers of drinking water from his colleagues, but the young man refused to accept them. Currently he was not thirsty, this was the effect of his increasing strength after coming out of the mysterious forest.

Suddenly the wind gushed, at that instant they were all on guard. Dust flew, then the sound of running animal footsteps was heard by their ears.

Leon immediately looked forward, the source of the voice. His eyes were wide open when he saw a herd of Chimeras running towards them.

"Jeez, the animals are clustered" Leon said.

"Run! We can't beat them like this!" exclaimed Sun, trying to stay calm and arrange his friends.

"Why should you be afraid?" ask Leon. "Wouldn't it be easier to finish them off like this?"

"Don't pretend here! They're about 20, we'd better get out of the way!" Sun and his friends immediately turned around to return to the city.

A wide smile formed on Leon's lips. He seemed happy with the departure of those people. "Yes, you can go. But, just this bunch of senseless animals I can definitely handle as easily as flipping a palm."

Inside Leon's head, Ellise carefully observed the young man. His current strength reminds Ellise of Leon's true purpose. The girl was scared, but also happy.

Worried, maybe that's the most appropriate word to describe Ellise's condition. His heart continued to tremble, asking that Leon remain the current Leon. He doesn't want anything to change.

Meanwhile, Leon had made a huge sword of shadow in his right hand. He prepared the horses, waiting quietly for the coming of the Chimeras.

Sure enough, without any intention to reverse course or anything, the Chimeras were still running with all their might to attack Leon. However, with just one slash, Leon managed to cut them all in half.

"Hahaha, is this your only ability?" Leon exclaimed loudly.

Even so, Ellise sees a change from Leon. He is at a loss to decide whether Leon will change, or will remain the same. All this makes him wonder, actually how is Leon feeling now? Was the young man happy to gain strength, or smiled in satisfaction for a moment to comfort a hollow heart?

Suddenly, as Ellise was spinning in her mind space, a Fantasy Beast with a thin body, long claws. His size was higher than that of a human, now right in front of Leon.
