Chapter 4 part 2

Shortly after this self was struck by panic, I heard a hoarse-sounding voice from behind. I immediately turned around to confirm the sound.

Glancing down, I saw Mischie who was trying to get up. In response to that, I quickly bowed and helped him to get up. Actually I feel a little uncomfortable because he regained consciousness at the wrong time. However, the other side of me somehow felt relieved that he was conscious.

“Slows." I said to Mischie while helping her get up.

“Uhuk, uhuk.” Mischie coughed a few times and said, “Where am I?”

It seemed that he was still not fully aware, but that was not the case now.

“Quiet!” I replied because I didn't know what to say to her.

Mischie who was in a daze then turned her head to the right and left for a while. However, before long, he finally came to a full realization. “Ah, I remember now.”

I breathed a sigh of relief because of this. And after I noticed again, the wound on Mischie's body was no longer bleeding. Seeing that, I once again heaved a sigh of relief. However, the relief did not last long, as there was currently a monster emerging from within the river.

“Groarr!”

Suddenly the voice from the mouth of the monster, echoed in the abyss until it made us all close our ears.

“Haih, what exactly is the name of the creature?” said Flicker who was not far in front of me, then he continued, “badannya look like a combination of 3 forest monsters, but why does his voice look similar to the voice of a crow?”

“Agot?” sahut Villy, “doesn't the monster's voice look more like the roar of a wolf?”

“Hm.” Flicker cleared his throat as he glanced at Villy holding his chin with his right hand. “True too, yes. The crow's voice is ‘howak! howak!’ not 'groarr!'.”

“Hey you two!” reprimand Geisa, “now is not the time to make jokes.”

Suddenly, the monster turned towards us and began to raise its right leg. I quickly helped Mischie to stand up and quickly pulled her to run.

“Quick! Hurry along! Fast run!” I shouted frantically while pulling Mischie's left hand, using my right hand.

Shortly afterwards, Gawk and his group also ran with us following the river. However, suddenly the ground shook to the point of almost losing balance while running.

We all ran left and right to balance the body. And before long, the splashing of water that had occurred due to the monster's feet, soaked our bodies. Even so, we still continued to run to get away.

“Haah, haah, haah ..” The sound of breath from the person who is on the right of me—, which is none other than Mischie—, can be heard clearly by this ear. Even so, I still kept pulling him running along.

The longer we ran, the sound of Mischie's breathing began to sound heavy, and it seemed like the young man's footsteps were also starting to weigh. Honestly, I couldn't bear to see it, but for the safety of our lives, I tried to ignore it, and kept running.

Suddenly Mischie fell to the point of making my footsteps stop. In response, I quickly turned around and raised him to my feet. When I turned my gaze towards the back, these eyelids were wide open, when I saw the huge monster leaping towards us. Because of that, I frantically pulled Mischie's left hand and started running.

“Haah, hah, hosh.” As I began to draw Mischie running with me, her heavy sighs reverberated in these ears.

“Haah, that's enough, Leon! Just leave me! I am not strong enough to run anymore,” said Mischie while breathing.

Without even glancing at him, I replied firmly. “It won't happen!”

Before Mischie could finish her sentence, she again collapsed to the ground. And suddenly the ground trembled stronger than the previous one. Because of the shock, I lost my balance and fell to the ground.

With no hope of survival, I forced myself to stand up. When I once again glanced back, my hope of survival was barely there anymore. Because the monster started to jump.

“Death to me,” murmured desperately, while loosening both hands and releasing my grasp.

“Argh ...,” Mischie groans while pressing the wound on his chest that has not healed.

When the monster landed a few steps in front of me, the ground again trembled to the point of making me sneak to the ground.

There is no hope anymore .... Is this the end of my fucking life? Ellise, I'm sorry I couldn't get your dendans back. And now, I'll soon follow you to nature.

Desperate, it was the right word to state my current state. Because this self no longer knows what to do. And it might be better if it were like that. However, deep down, I don't want to die this silly death.

What am I supposed to do now? Would it be better to just give up?

“Redy? Nah! Just surrender! But I don't want to die.”

I kept repeating the words until the throat got dry. However, I still can't find the right answer.

My mind became empty, and this head still remained lowered looking at the barren land.

A voice that made me become even more desperate, re-echoing within the ears. Honestly, I'm so sick of hearing that. However, this self cannot do anything to prevent it.

While I was lamenting how weak this was, suddenly someone pulled me to my feet. That person was none other than Gawk, who did not emit any expression on his face.

Without saying anything, Gawk pulled my right hand and ran. I put my foot forward and glanced back and saw Mischie being picked up by Flicker and James, and then they ran after us.

I turned my gaze forward while adjusting my footsteps to Gawk, then let go of the young man's hand, and inexplicably, the originally desperate mind had now become filled with hope. My face, which had been stiff, now began to emit a smile.

Why can I forget? Now I have a partner and I am not alone like before. But apparently, the word alone is also not suitable to explain my previous condition. However, one thing is clear, I can rely more on colleagues, from now on.

“Quick! We don't have much time left!” exclaimed Villy who was at the entrance of a cave, while waving his hands to us.

The cavern? Why would they want to hide in a cave? Isn't that too risky? Is it possible that it wasn't a cave? Ah never mind, maybe it would be better if I just followed them.

As soon as I dismissed those thoughts, Gawk and I finally reached where Villy and Geisa were. However, again the ground shook violently, the wall of the ravine that was no longer able to withstand any shocks, began to collapse. And when I turned to face Mischie and the two people who helped her run, this mouth became unstoppable to scream. “Mischie! Flickers! James!”

As a result of the shock just a moment ago, the three of them simultaneously fell on their stomachs on the ground. Seeing that, I immediately set foot on this to help them. However, before I could go any further, Gawk blocked me with his right hand, then said, “Please wait here! Let me help them.”

I forcefully crashed into the young man, then ran with all my might towards Mischie and the others fell down. Soon enough, Gawk caught up without stopping me again.
