Chapter 9: The Sly Fox

The atmosphere so fresh filled with the harmony of the song of a melodious bird makes the heart become calm. I looked up while looking at the leaves blown by the wind. My sleep was very good last night to make the body more comfortable. Glancing to the right, these eyes could see Lize eating bread slowly.

“Mm ... Lize,” I said start a conversation.

Lize turned her eyes towards me. His blue eyes then looked into these eyes. “What's up?” She asked.

“I-tu .. how do I say yes? Mm ... Why do you want to come with us instead of following Andrew and his group?”

I'm actually really uncomfortable asking that. However, it is very important to know the reason. I don't want to be stabbed in the back like before.

Turning her face the other way, Lize who had been calm was now trembling at my question. His actions are very difficult to interpret, although I may consider him a spy, but I am not sure of that.

Seeing that Lize was having trouble answering, I ignored my question a moment ago, then stood up. “Have it, forget what I just said.” I finally decided to leave.

A few moments walking, I stopped my footsteps because I felt something was trailing. And sure enough, that guy hit me from behind because I stopped suddenly. “Aduh,” said.

Immediately I looked back and saw a girl who was none other than Rias who was rubbing her forehead. I looked at the girl, then said, “Talking that guy is no good, Rias.”

“No problem,” I replied indifferently. “So why are you following me?”

“Actually I feel a little uneasy together with Lize, so I tailed behind you alone, ehehe.” Rias twirled her long bangs. “Can't?”

Forgive .. how could I possibly refuse him if he was being so sweet. I exhaled and agreed to his request. “Alright, you can join.”

“Hore!” Rias shouted in excitement.

Ignoring the excited Rias, I set foot back to a tree with a big hole in the middle. Slowly I put my right hand into it and found a ro-no, this is different. What I take now is not bread but a pale white box.

“What is this?” I muttered as I opened the box. At once I snorted angrily upon learning that the contents of the box were the same bread as I had always found before. “Ah, never mind, than I starve to death.”

Without paying attention, I devoured the bread in the box. There is no special taste, the bread is bland but can satiate the stomach. And since I was hungry, that's why the bread also tasted good to eat.

For a moment I stopped chewing because I was disturbed by being stared at continuously by Rias. Cutting my bread into two halves, I gave half to Rias. “Nah, take ...” I handed the bread to Rias, then threw away the white box where the bread was.

Looking for food in the forest. My throat has become dry because I haven't had a drink since morning. Walking straight ahead, Rias and I finally found a small lake with clear water. Looking around the lake, these eyes saw Mischie and Lize who were taking water by using a bottle. Soon I hastened the pace to meet them.

“Hei!” I swipe at them.

“Halo, Leon!” reply Lize.

Only Lize returned my greeting, while Mischie still continued to put the lake water into some bottles that were lined up on the lake shore. Not far from the bottle, there was a black bag. I'm pretty sure that the bag was used to carry bottles of water.

Ignoring her rebuke, I still gulped the water in the bottle until Mischie got upset and took the bottle from me. “You can drink the bottle I filled. There are still many, why do you still spend the water in the bottle?”

He's very sensitive, which means he's still upset about what I did yesterday. Though I was just kidding, but why is he even upset until now. Her behavior really looks like a girl. Maybe even a girl isn't like this.

“Haih .. It turns out that you are still upset with me, yes.”

“Hm, who's upset?” Mischie replied nonchalantly while returning to fetch water. He doesn't seem to care much about my presence. It's just, somehow I feel something different about him. However, I don't know what it is.

For a moment, I remembered my other friends. “They ... how, yes, are they doing now?” I murmured while looking at the clear blue sky.

“It turns out you also remembered them, huh?” Mischie replied when he heard my murmur.

Kulirik Mischie who said while taking the water. From here, I finally understood why he was so sensitive. I feel guilty for mistaking him. It makes me feel ashamed of myself.

“Hei, Mischie!”

“Hm, what?”

“If if this were all over, what would you do in the future?”

Mischie stood up while covering the bottle she had just filled with water. “It's not clear! I'm going to have fun days and forget everything I've been through here.”

“Haha, you're right. I was stupid for asking that. Haha, I'm sorry.”

“You don't need to apologize.”

After saying that, Mischie rushed to put some of the water bottles into the black bag nearby. I smiled faintly because today I felt very relaxed without any burden on my shoulders. And I hope the next days will go like this too.

Before I could hope again, suddenly a loud explosion blared in my ear and made me cover my ears with both hands. I bowed, these eyes closed, unable to hear the bang. My consciousness seemed to want to get out of the body, this head became more dizzy and the body moved unnaturally.

The sound died down, I opened my eyes slowly, but the vision was foggy, and I finally saw it again. Looking up, my eyes were stunned to see a huge smoke gushing upwards forming a huge cloud. A few moments later, the dust began to scatter from the direction I saw it.

What I'm currently seeing is an erupting mountain phenomenon. However, fortunately the mountain was located far ahead there. If we were at the foot of the mountain, I would not be sure what would happen next.

As if taking me out of the mind room, Lize pulled this hand and walked tailing behind Mischie. “Come quickly!” Lize said slowly to me as she continued walking.

Rather than being said to be a tense atmosphere, what happened now might be said to be an awkward situation. No one spoke a word. We just keep crossing the trees. I really don't understand the current situation.

Is the eruption a sign? Or maybe this will be our new chapter? But obviously, this is not a good thing.
