Chapter 8 part 3

The huge flames were now propagating at high speed. The sea of fire is increasingly fluttering and surging like waves from the sea. I who was currently falling also rushed up to my feet. Glancing to the side, I can see Rias also trying to get up.

“Come run!” I cried while extending my right hand to Rias.

Ignoring my hand, Rias stood up and started running. “Do not daydream!”

When glancing back, these eyes can see the fire that is now getting closer. I ran with all my might to avoid the fire. However, thick smoke suddenly closed the view. My breath was choked with smoke.

Continuing to run while ignoring all that, my eyes turned red and let out tears. I close my nose using both hands and then resist dizziness and foggy vision.

My body temperature is getting hotter, suddenly, this leg stumbles on a root to make it fall. As long as the body feels pain, the view is also getting blurry. Still, I stood up and endured all the pain.

“Haah .. haah .. haah ...”

My breathing is getting irregular, my heart rate doesn't stop pounding. Unable to resist how dizzy my head was, I fell down again until I could not stand up again. “Rias!” I shouted back as I set foot back into the river where I fell some time ago.

A very loud bang was heard back by the ears. I quickly sped up and swam to help the girl. It didn't take long, I directly carried the girl and led her to the edge.

I laid the girl on the grassy field. His face looked pale with his eyes closed due to unconsciousness. “Hei! Oi! Aware!” He really freaked me out. I punched his chest so he could spit out water.

“Uhuk ...” The girl finally came to her senses and spewed water from her mouth. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing that he was fine now.

“Di ... Where am I?” The girl looked around in wonder. “Hah? Basic pervert!” the girl shouted and slapped me in the face and immediately moved away.

“What the hell are you?” I snapped, not accepting the treatment.

Instead of apologizing, the girl pouted and pointed at me with her index finger. “How dare you touch me!”

“Do not pretend not to know! You-we-you just touched my thing, didn't you?”

I looked at both palms and then realized what I was doing just a moment ago. But it doesn't matter, for I will do it to save his life. Ignoring everything that had happened, I crookedly stood up then walked leisurely past the girl—Rias.

“As for you, I just pressed your chest to save your critical life,” I said as I passed.

“Hei! Wait for me!”

After so long along the vast field, we now enter a lush forest area filled with bushes. Unknowingly, these eyes saw two exhausted people leaning under a large tree. And sure enough, I know both of those people.

“Lize! Mischie!” I cheerfully shouted the two names while running with all my might towards them.

The two men turned to face me when they heard their names called. Lize, who looked surprised to see me, immediately stood up. “Leon?” Without waiting for my answer, Lize hugged me. “Leon! Where have you been?”

I smiled faintly then stroked Lize's head gently. “I'm here,” I replied, slowly.

Seeing me and Lize hugging, Mischie put on an unhappy face. “Until when will you hug like that?”

It seems that he is envious of the affection between me and Lize. Realizing that, I hugged Lize even more affectionately than before.

“Cih!” Immediately Mischie turned his face the other way.

“By the way, Leon! Who's the girl?” Lize let go of her embrace and said the question with a smile.

It's actually not important that he ask me that, because he and I don't have a special relationship. Plus, he tried to kill me once, even though he did it because of someone else's orders. Still, he did. And that also makes me still hesitant to reciprocate his feelings for me.

“Oh, she is Rias,” I said as I showed the long haired girl near me.

“Halo! I'm Rias, greetings,” Rias introduces herself gently while extending her hand.

“Hello, Rias! I'm Lize, greetings,” replied Lize welcomed Rias' hand.

Even so, somehow my feelings say that they will not get along. It even seems that they will compete with each other.

I shivered in fear when I felt that feeling. And I wish I was wrong about that. It would be very troublesome if it were true.

Under the bright moonlight, Mischie suddenly said agitatedly, “What else are we going to meet the next day? I hope it's not a bad thing.” Mischie while the sky behind me. Tired of facing the situation.

Out of curiosity, I looked back and saw a thick plume of smoke rising high in the sky. Seeing this scared me even more to face the next days.
