[S3] Chapter 4: Energy Eater

Long enough Leon stood watching the blood of a creature called Chimera that had been defeated earlier. The soldiers behind him did not bother him to observe this Chimera.

Slowly Leon took a deep breath and exhaled. So, is there any other reason why my father let me play around in that mysterious forest?

Leon is still stuck in his mind space, he has not found a logical reason behind why his father let him do things at will.

You know, I remember now. Suddenly Ellise remembered something in her mind.

Whatisit? Leon still can't understand.

Not yet Ellise managed to answer, a growling sound was heard by Leon's ears from various directions. Instantly the young man glanced around, seemingly by his eyes several Chimeras were approaching.

"Everyone, don't be afraid! We're not alone, there's an Energy Eater here!" one of the soldiers calmed the other soldiers.

Leon put on a flat face, from four different directions the Chimera came approaching Leon and the soldiers. While Leon was looking flat, a soldier came over to him.

"Sir, what should we do?" ask Leon.

A moment Leon was silent, then looked at the young man before him. "Just gather here, just watch me finish off all these creatures" Leon said confidently.

"But, Mister. Are you sure?"

Leon's face remained flat, with no expression he replied, "Don't underestimate me. I've beaten a lot of monsters all this time."

It was true, if it was just a few Chimeras he would have been able to finish him off very easily. However, I don't know if the one who came was a bunch of Chimera.

"No, Mister. Forgive me!" The soldier called his comrades. "Everything, we're just gathered here. Leave this to Master Energy Eaters."

"Eh?" The other soldiers immediately slipped.

"What if Chi or Core comes? Wouldn't it be dangerous if this Energy Eater ran out of strength?" ask a soldier.

"Yes, he's right." Others shouted in agreement.

"But what can we do if a few grenades still can't finish off the Chimera?" The soldier who was the messenger then shouted at his colleagues.

"Whisper!" leon said as he looked coldly at the soldiers. "If you want to die, then just go. You should have realized you were just bullies."

In an instant the soldiers fell silent and began to gather behind Leon. They were so submissive, frightened by the look on Leon's face just a moment ago. However, still they were ready to fight using rifles in hand in case something bad happened.

Leon immediately took a deep breath, directing both hands forward while feeling the flow of energy in the body. A pitch-black aura emerged from within his body, then he immediately opened his eyes.

About 4 Chimeras, I think it's easy to get rid of, Leon thought.

It's not that easy, Leon. Ellise interrupted. It is true that these Chimeras are weak, but I somehow feel the existence of a different creature not far from here.

It's up to you, because I might be able to defeat him very easily as well. Yes, now Leon is much more confident in his abilities.

It's so dark, it doesn't look anything here. The movement of the legs and the breathing of the soldiers can be heard by Leon. The longer the sound interfered with the young man's concentration.

"Be quiet! Don't move or breathe, I'm concentrating on defeating the Chimeras" Leon snapped.

The soldiers instantly fell silent, not making any movements and breathing as slowly as possible. This time Leon refocused on controlling his powers.

The reason why Leon was so careful was that other beings stronger than the Chimera did not come here right away. Because, it would be troublesome if he had to fight while protecting these weak humans behind him.

"You're here, I'm out." Leon immediately walked forward, piercing through his artificial black wall with great ease.

When he came out, he was greeted by the stench of black blood belonging to the Chimeras. Of course the Chimera flock died from the stab of Leon's shadow spear.

Above the circle of Leon's shadow, there were several large spears that stabbed the Chimeras to death. Leon ignores all that, then glances around to check whether or not another Chimera is present.

"It seems that the creature you're worried about is coming doesn't exist, Ellise" Leon said, slowly.

Not nothing, but not yet appeared. It could have come from the rise of these Chimeras, Ellise replied.

It's true there's such a possibility, but I don't know why I'm not sure.

"Him!" A scream instantly echoed in Leon's eardrum.

Leon immediately searched for the source of the voice. In the front direction, it appeared that several flashes were clashing against each other.

"It's like it's a fire user fight and...." Leon paused for a moment, stuck his right hand on his chin and observed the fight there.

There is a possibility that the fire user was fighting with a creature that I felt a moment ago, Ellise said.

"In that case, we must not miss."

In an instant, Leon ran towards the fight ahead there.

[For the record, I deliberately made Ellise and Leon's conversation in italics, not using quotation marks. Wh why? Because their conversation was going on in Leon's head.]
