[S2] Chapter 4 Part 4

The lion that was human-like, or it could be said that the lion-man, roared towards Dervish. Darwis only flinched, occasionally swinging the sword and whip he held. The battle between the two might start soon. Meanwhile, I just kept quiet vigilantly, watching them from behind Dervish.

The Dervish began to move to the left side, while the half-lion man, also moved slowly to the left side. They move in the same direction of rotation, so that if met it may form a full circle. When Darwis was no longer behind me, the lion was clearly visible, and with a reflex I fired two pistols at him.

The lion was conscious, then immediately lowered his head and rolled to the right side. My attack missed, but Dervish immediately advanced towards the lion man, then began to slash the whip with his sword.

Before long, some lions came to attack Dervish, I immediately fired my gun at the lions. Two lions were attacked and immediately scattered on the ground. There remained five lions slowly moving away, along with the retreat of Dervish.

“Surely he has taken control of those lions.” Darwis was so upset that he didn't manage to finish off his opponent.

“It seems like it is.” I approve.

The half-lion man stood up again surrounded by five lions on standby. The fight this time would definitely be a little troublesome, considering the lions seemed to be controlled. It was only fitting that some time ago, the lion horde was acting strange. It turns out that someone is controlling them.

“What should we do now?” ask me slowly.

Darwis did not answer for a while. The atmosphere became silent, our eyes focused on the lion man and the lions surrounding him. Then, Darwis sighed. “It looks like we should split up and look for a gap to go...”.

“Don't say you're afraid to face them.”

I put both of my pistols back under my clothes, then took out a long shotgun that was stuck in the body, then started aiming. However, the problem now is, the existence of Flicker who had just been able to flinch while watching around. If he could change, maybe the story would be different.

Before that, I had to figure out what triggered the change in form, which was very troublesome. I lowered my rifle back, then glanced at Flicker. According to my estimation, he was currently frightened to see all this. So, fear isn't the trigger, then what?

Suddenly, a lion immediately lunged from the front. Without mercy, Darwis directly attacked the lion with his whip, making the lion die with a destroyed axe. The lion-man had seriously underestimated our abilities, did he think we would not dwell before him?

Dervish sheathed back his sword, and only used a whip to fight back. I don't know what he was really thinking, or maybe he was so serious that he just wore a whip to attack. If true, this would be terrible.

The Dervish whipped his whip to the ground several times with his right hand. The lion man had prepared with his horses and his long claws. Before long, two lions immediately charged towards Dawis. However, Darwis twirled his whip upwards, then attacked the two lions.

At the same time, when the two lions had been sprawled, the lion man directly lunged in front of Dervish. But ill-fated, Darwis realized it, and quickly slashed his whip vertically, from top to bottom.

The lion jumped to the right side to avoid. I immediately aimed at the head of the creature, then shot. Shit, he managed to dodge again by rolling on the ground. Darwis instantly slashed his whip into the ground carelessly. The lion man can only roll around to avoid an attack.

Shortly after, the two remaining lions instantly attacked from both directions. But I immediately shot one of them dead. The Dervish also attacked one other lion with a whip.

Meanwhile, Flicker has gone out of nowhere. Was he so afraid that he wouldn't help in the least? “Sial!” I peel annoyed.

The Dervish tried to get back up, but the lion man immediately kicked it down. And I continued to wriggle from the grip of the lion. However, its extremely sharp claws instantly pierced all over my back. Realizing that the lion was going to devour my head, I immediately crossed my arms above my head.

I continued to rebel by moving the whole body, but the lion's energy was too strong. My hands deliberately swung in any direction, and the lion began to bother one of my guard. Before that happened, the lion was thrown to the left.

As I widened my eyes, another half-lion figure appeared from behind me. I dragged my body away, but wait .... It's freaky. The half-lion man roared and bared his long fangs.

Could it be Flicker?

The lion man immediately rushed towards the other lion man. While I still flinch, not understanding what is really going on here. A chaos that had never occurred before, when this self thought Flicker was running away, it turned out that what happened was something else that was unthinkable.

I stood up, took the long rifle I dropped, the lion I thought Flicker was, attacked the other lion. He launched several claws, but was successfully held back and avoided by the lion man who became his opponent.

Dervish got up, picked up the sword he was wielding, then immediately helped Flicker. I refilled the bullets and started aiming, the three-on-one fight finally started.

“Cih, it looks like this will not work.” I threw back my rifle, then took out the two pistols that were behind the clothes.

My feet are moving forward, towards the place where the fight is going. The lion man can only continue to survive the insistence of Flicker and Dervish. The creature's hands were covered with wounds, his entire body was also not spared from the attacks of Dervish and Flicker.

Dervish kicked the lion man back a few steps, I immediately shot one of my pistols right on the creature's forehead. He was lying down, blood began to flow from the gunshot wound that was on his forehead.

I sighed, Dervish and Flicker were also relieved to have defeated the lion man earlier. Suddenly, Flicker lost his balance and fell. Luckily Darwis managed to support his body so as not to really fall to the ground.

Flicker changes begin to fade, the skin changes, some feathers become skin, and others fall on the ground. When I turned my gaze towards the lion man we were fighting, there appeared the face of someone I knew.

“Di-dia is Eric.”

Honestly, I was very surprised to see all this. I never thought he was one of those people I knew.

“It looks like he is frustrated because it evolved permanently.” Dervish laid Flicker down slowly.

Now that I understand something, Permanent Evolution will fade if that person dies. However, only the face changes, while the other parts remain the same as before.
