I still haven't looked away from the wooden box that Darwis was holding. Curiosity is clearly haunting my mind. Moreover, since when the object was buried, also became a question.
Immediately I shook my head, staring in amazement at what was inside the box. The thing that was there did indeed look like a black-colored sword with a red line in the middle. However, between the hilt and the sword shaft, there was a red crystal ball. I don't know what it does, but a hunch tells me that the sword is really good.
Good not only in the sense of its appearance, but also in its function. Looking at it at a glance it might seem ordinary, but if it was researched further, there was an aura emitted by it. There was no way magic could be used in this forest, and it could be that the hot aura emanating from the red-striped sword, could radiate fire during use.
It does look like a mere expectation. However, I still believe that there is a reason why Darwis would want to keep something like this here.
“When did you bury this sword?”
Dervish rubbed the sword rod, then threw the wooden box to the side. “It's been a long time. When I certainly don't remember. Only, this place used to be the headquarters of the Snake Clan that ended up being destroyed just like that.”
The Snake Clan Headquarters? Demolished? What does all this mean? If this is indeed the place where the Snake Clan hovered before, then the first place I and the Wolf met was the headquarters of the new Snake Clan. But this is still not logical. At the time, no one had a tattoo on their arm. Even I had a tattoo after that horrible incident.
“So you mean, the division of the Clan took place not when we first came in this forest, but when getting a tattoo?” I tried to confirm the truth of all this to Darwis. Because he seems to know a lot about the mysterious forest we are in now.
Darwis lowered his head, still stroking the sword in his hand. “To my knowledge, the division of the Clan in this forest happened when we got the tattoo.”
In other words, the information Wolf told me, the truth is still uncertain. Whether he's lying or maybe he doesn't know for sure what the truth is. Two confusing choices, which is the correct answer to all of this? The only way is to make sure of it by looking at the tattoo on the arm of every person I meet first.
However, that way was very troublesome to do. So, did I just leave this insignificant matter. Ah, maybe this was the right choice and reverted back to my previous goal. Revenge, then get out of this forest and beat the face of the maker.
Dervish stood up while holding the sword in his left hand, then took the whip tied to his waist with his right hand. “It looks like we should get ready to face problems in the future.”
I nodded, then stood up while stretching my body. “I hope everything ends quickly so I can rest in peace.”
“The problem now, we have to find something to eat, otherwise want to die of hunger.” The mongrels started picking some corn.
A sigh, heard from Darwis' mouth. “If everything would be as easy as it used to be. I won't bother picking this corn.”
Back then? Could that mean, we have to hunt or pick fruits in order to eat? If not, then you will die of hunger. Things in this forest are getting more complicated.
“From you keep daydreaming.” Darwis threw one of the corns at me. “Better help me pick these corns. Do not continuously eat bread alone, because it is very boring.”
I caught the corn he threw. “One of the reasons why here there is corn because you are tired of eating bread, yes?”
“Yes, exactly as you said.”
The sun was getting higher when we finished picking some corn. And now, Dervish is making fire by twirling a piece of twig on a large dry wooden branch. An ordinary method to light a fire without any matches in this forest. If only there was a free supermarket here, then trivial problems like this can be solved easily.
After fighting hard for a while, Darwis finally managed to light a fire to burn the corn we had picked up. It is very annoying to make a fireplace on a hot day like this, but that is all that can be done to eat.
Satisfied with the grilled corn, we immediately walked towards the north. To be honest, I still don't know what's really there. However, since all the dangers were coming from the south, I concluded that the north was the last place to be destroyed. No harm ‘kan, trying to survive longer.
“Hei!” I tried to melt the silent atmosphere that befell us.
“What?”
“Do you know what the north is like?”
The person I spoke to, still continued to walk in front of me without even turning away. “Because I don't know, so I want to go there and find out.”
He seemed to be angry, because I asked him something very insignificant. I'd better shut up and keep following her so I don't get in trouble. Why do the people I meet have such a serious nature as Wolf? What a shitty fate.
