Chapter 7: The Garden of Death

The tunnel we entered now, was so dark, that Lize had to pull this hand and lead me to walk after it. The head feels a little dizzy, because the eyes are not used to seeing in the dark. However, I finally managed to adjust to the situation, and the head was no longer dizzy to deal with it.

As I thought I was fine, my eyes were suddenly blinded by a light from the tunnel exit. Damn, once again this head became dizzy until I covered both eyes using the right hand so as not to be approached by the dazzling sunlight.

My steps stopped, I slowly lowered my right hand and began to open my eyes and adjust to the light. These eyes blink slightly when confronted with light, but can slowly adapt.

“It's done?” asked Lize who had been watching me.

“I envy you who have eyes to wear in the dark or light, it sucks.” I complained, a little annoyed indeed.

“Haha, you seem to be very envious of the privileges I have.”

“Yes, I do envy, because I don't have it.”

If that ability can be obtained through a test, I will most likely get it as well. However, it seemed like Lize's ability was not an ability that could be obtained with a single test. Perhaps it was a privilege from the moment he was born that it was not owned by anyone else.

“Beautiful park.”

“This park is indeed very beautiful, so I like to go here to relieve fatigue,” Lize replied to my murmur.

This feeling reminds me of Ellise. However, I immediately brushed off the memory, because I suddenly recalled the nightmare I had experienced.

“Hei, Leon!” Lize's scream made me aghast.

“What?” I slightly raised my voice.

“Try this look!”

I rushed over to Lize, glancing at an object pointed at by her. The object was triangular in shape, made of metal, in the middle of which was a small green light. Without a second thought, I immediately reached out to grab the object. However, Lize pulled my hand so as not to touch the triangular-shaped object.

“Why? Do you know what this thing is?” A question I asked in response to his ban.

“Because I don't know, so I stopped you.”

“While, why do you look so worried? Isn't this just an ordinary object that doesn't have a special function?”

"Huh ...." Lize let out a breath. “You are stupid or what? Already know that this forest holds so many mysteries, but still you do not understand how terrible it is.”

It is true that a place that contains many mysteries is very terrible, especially this forest. However, what is wrong if we ignore all the mysteries and find out little by little a new experience of the tension-filled adventure as it is now? Anyway, we don't know whether or not to get out of here.

“To be true all the things that happened here are terrible.” I removed this right hand from Lize's grasp. “But, that doesn't mean we should always be vigilant, right?”

“Hm ...” Lize placed her right hand against her chin, looking like she was thinking. “Yes, you have a point too, being constantly vigilant will only keep us from getting any information. Taking a risk to find out, is not bad.” Lize agreed to my words.

I can't believe he understood what I meant. Therefore, I unhesitatingly extended this right hand to reach for the triangular object that I could not reach before. However, again Lize held me back from doing so.

“Maybe it's better we don't touch it.” He forced a smile on his lips.

"Huh ...." I sighed, looking at Lize's face with slight annoyance. “Why else?”

“Ehehe, I don't think we need to take that thing, maybe.” He answered while turning his eyes the other way, trying to avoid my gaze.

Gosh, this girl is so troublesome, doesn't she know that I'm so curious about that thing. If only she wasn't a girl, I would've snapped at her.

“Aren't you curious about what this thing really is?”

Lize still kept her eyes off me. “Yes, actually, yes, I was also curious, but, that, I was afraid that it turned out to be very dangerous, yes, roughly so.”

“Ah, alright, now what should we do?”

Lize then let go of my hand. “Hm, let's just leave it here. After all, there is not much information we can get from there.”

Ignoring Lize's words, I immediately grabbed the triangular-shaped object. Then suddenly, nothing happened.

I showed that to Lize. “I told you, nothing will happen.”

“Ehehe, looks like I was wrong.” Lize scratched her cheek using her index finger.

As I flipped through the object, I accidentally discovered a small red button. “What is this?” I muttered while pressing the button.

Suddenly a very sharp sound wave came out of the object to make the eardrum feel like it wanted to break. I immediately threw away the thing I was holding, then closed my ears using both hands.

Moments later, the sound finally subsided. My right eardrum seems to have broken to make blood come out from there.

The wind blew, the birds began to fly uncontrollably. And then, a faint howling sound could be heard by my left ear.
