[S2] Chapter 4: Something

Far in front of us, the scene that was so messy because of the leaves scattered here and there, could be seen. I don't want to discuss why it happened, because obviously the cause was the wind rotation that was so strong earlier. The color of the leaves that were green, now painted red because of the thick smoke that soared high a moment ago.

We were both still unmoved, staring straight at the chaotic area. Then, Darwis glanced around, trying to find something I didn't know. For no apparent reason, I walked around, observing if there were any irregularities here.

Nothing wrong with this place, only, the air that was inhaled was so stifling, that I had to cover my nose with both hands. Although not much, red smoke still floats around, making air pollution. However, the smoke is not poison or anything dangerous, just ordinary smoke with a red color.

Hm, maybe we can call it a powder or something. Because what hovers in the air is not like smoke, but more like dust.

Slowly, Darwis stepped forward, there was no sign of any people or animals around us. However, here I feel something that makes this place different, even arguably I am a little afraid of it. Just a little.

Suddenly my body shivered by itself, eyes still glaring to watch. It was already dusk, and black clouds covered the once clear sky. It is not without reason that we were able to arrive at this place at an inopportune time. Because before, I whined and sometimes made Darwis upset, to continue arguing, until it did not feel time passed quickly.

Come to think of it, time always goes by quickly when we spend it doing things like chatting and so on. Yeah, it's not a secret anymore, so there's no need for me to talk about it.

“Hm ...” Suddenly, Dervish stopped, humbled his body, then surveyed the surrounding land. “This is weird.”

I stopped while keeping my distance from the brown-skinned strange creature. Actually what was he thinking to the extent that he was very interested in investigating it.

Dervish re-establish his body, the right hand of the half-human creature was affixed to the forehead. He looked back and forth, and finally lowered his hand, and looked up.

His behavior is very strange. Is there something wrong with this situation. If I didn't hear wrong, he said: it's weird. But what does that mean? His mind path is very difficult to guess.

I sighed, not understanding what he meant. “No, I don't feel there's anything strange.”

It's true that I'm a little afraid of this situation, but it's because the atmosphere feels so scary. However, is this what 'strange' means by him, I don't think so. There must be something that makes him feel that this is indeed ‘aneh’.

“But why do I feel like this is weird, huh? Wonderful.” He then turned back to face the other way, looking around.

Never mind, no need to think, the strange thing here is just you, the rest is nothing strange. Why should you think about it any further.

He stepped foot, walking around the trees, like he was looking for buried treasure. Ah, whatever .. no matter. Immediately I moved away from him, glancing around, hoping to find a big hole in a tree.

Soon, I found what I was looking for. “That's him.” The foot stepped forward, towards a tree that had a large hole. I can't believe there isn't even a loaf of bread like Darwis said. And now I'm gonna prove it.

Immediately I extended this right hand into the hole, as soon as I got there. What's inside, there's something a little rough surface. “Ah, this may be just bread wrapper only.”

Suddenly, my hand was bitten, it hurt, and soon I took it out of there. Damn, the contents of the hole were black snakes with white spots on the neck. Just by pulling the snake to let the bite slip. Blood began to flow from the wound from the snake bite.

I turned and ran, the snake was still chasing me. My right hand hurt so much, and then my left hand clasped the sick arm. Breathing began to gasp when forcing yourself to run, the head felt excruciating pain.

It's the worst situation ever, even worse than being stuck in a nightmare that reminds me of death. God, I'm sick of all this, get me out of this fucking obscure forest!
