The Dark Slayer's

The Dark Slayer's
[S3] Chapter 9: Just Started

The morning seemed bright, the sun peeking from the eastern horizon was about to emit a warm light to the surface of the earth. The wind was blowing, looking behind the window a young man peeked out.

His eyes stared intently forward, the scenery from the simple housing could be seen by him. His short black hair did not sway, even though the wind was blowing a little fiercely.

As he was clearing his mind, he took a deep breath and then exhaled slowly through his mouth. Both of his eyes were closed, his mind was instantly empty.

Unwilling to linger, the young man walked towards the exit. I don't know why today he was calmer than usual.

Leon! A girl's voice called her name.

What was? Leon acted indifferently in response to Ellise who was inside his head.

I don't know what your plan is going forward, but considering from your conversation with Vord yesterday, I draw the conclusion there are some privileges for a level 1 Energy Eater.

What then? Still ignoring, Leon opened the door and walked down the hallway to the room for breakfast.

Aren't you interested in that privilege? You could have gotten some secret information about the headquarters of the Fantasy Beings.

Ellise obviously wanted to make Leon want to become a level 1 Energy Eater, but the young man really did not care.

Yeah, you're right. Maybe I can get some important information. But, my identity will be exposed to all corners of the world. I really don't want to be famous.

Weird guy. What's wrong with being famous? Is that very disturbing?

Yeah, very, very disturbing. I plan after this to live peacefully enjoying old age. If I'm famous, I think all my plans will change.

Aren't you free to retire or not?

You're right, but my only goal is to save people. I don't care about being famous or not, as long as I do my wish to make amends, then that's enough.

All right then. I don't want to force you.

Their conversation ended, now Leon has arrived at his destination. At the table by the window, Sun was eating something from a bowl. Leon immediately approached the young man and sat down in an empty chair directly opposite Sun.

"Here it turns out, too," said Leon began the conversation.

"It usually is. But this isn't everything, that's why you can sit here now." Sun nonchalantly answered Leon's question.

Leon called the waiter, ordered food and then looked back at Sun. "So, where are we going today?"

"We?"

"Yes, we. After this I will ask permission from Vord. I think he'll gladly give me permission." Of course Leon is confident, because Vord is a little curious about him. He was about to use that to control the Vord.

Time passed by quickly, warm sunlight enveloping Leon and Sun's bodies. They immediately leave here after eating, because they do not want to disturb like there are others who have not had breakfast.

At the branch, Leon and Sun split up. It seemed that Sun could not accompany Leon to the Vord room due to something.

Leon opened the door, on top of the singasana there was no one. "Hm ..., where did that person go?" Without the slightest hesitation, Leon began to search in every corner of the room.

Suddenly, from behind the singasana, Vord walked out and looked at Leon suspiciously. "It turns out there's a thief here" he said, deliberately wanting to provoke Leon's emotions.

Not caring too much about Vord's taunts, Leon glanced at Vord for a moment then sighed. "Hey, Vord! Can you give me permission to join Sun in hunting the Fantasy Beings?" Really without further ado, Leon immediately began the topic of conversation.

"Why do you have to ask my permission? Doesn't the decision depend on you?" Slowly Vord sat on his singlet.

"Oh ...." In this case, Vord showed no particular interest. "Alright, you go with him."

"Is there a warrant?"

"Huh ...." Vord breathed a heavy sigh. "Too troublesome if you have to use a certificate. You're free to do anything as long as you don't break the rules."

"All right, I get it." Leon immediately went out to meet Sun.

Walking in the white hallway, Leon arrived at a spacious empty room. This was the lobby, unwilling to glance around, Leon immediately exited the building.

Iron fences can be seen lined up on the border of the city with barren fields. For a moment Leon looked at the tall fence, and then immediately walked off down the slightly more crowded street.

"It seems, before adventuring with Sun, I had to explore this city first." Leon walked with passion, a big smile never faded from his face.

Despite being in the crowd, not knowing each other, Leon was completely ignored by the residents. But it's okay for him, he doesn't really care.

Despite being ignored, Leon continued to wave at the locals with a smile. Somehow his heart felt happy when he saw the activities of all residents in this city. He felt a peace that he did not feel while inside the mysterious forest.

"It seems like I have to fight those Fantasy Beings to protect them all" Leon muttered, quietly to the point of not being heard by others.

Not far ahead, several small children were running around with beautiful smiles on their faces. They looked so happy without knowing that there was danger lurking out there.

Leon's desire to beat up all Fantasy Beings increased when he saw the smiles of the little ones. He was determined to protect that smile even if life was a bet for him.

Already satisfied to walk through the simple building in the city, now he returned to the headquarters. In front of the headquarters door it was clear that Sun was together with several armed men.

Leon immediately ran over to them. Luckily he still had time, because Sun apparently did not have the intention to wait for him.

"You don't want to wait for me?" Leon grumbled in annoyance.

"Are you getting permission?" Sun replied.

"He said I could act as I please as long as I didn't break the law."

"so. It seems you've caught Mr. Vord's attention."

"I don't intend to do that." After saying the sentence, Leon glanced at some men armed with long rifles as well as grenades beside Sun. "Are they going with us?"

"No, they'll just be a burden. They would be tasked with observing and restraining if near the city were any Fantasy Beings."

"So then, are we just going hunting?"

"Although you're a level 2 Energy Eater, I'm sure you still need some comrades."

Before long, two young men in red uniforms appeared and a girl who also wore red uniforms. Leon watched the men for a moment, trying to guess how much they had power. However, his concentration was instantly broken by Sun's speech.

"Theo, Gild, Sasa, then Leon, are you ready?" ask Sun, firmly.

"Yes!" The other three answered in unison, but not with Leon.

"Mission begins."

They rushed straight to the exit of the city. Seeking energy to shore up the city's defenses so as not to be destroyed any time soon.
