The Dark Slayer's

The Dark Slayer's
Chapter 9 part 1

I covered my nose with clothes, because a very strong wind carried the ash from the explosion of the mountain. The distance from the mountain where we are now is far, but still, ash can be carried far away. Actually I'm still very surprised, and somehow, I can't believe that the explosion was pure natural disaster. I'm guessing someone made that happen.

Sighing while still walking in silence, I removed the uncertain possibility. Because maybe there are people who can do it.

Extending our feet further, we finally arrived in front of a cave. This place is quiet and desolate. There were no signs of human or animal presence. Even so, I still believe there are rodents like rats in that cave.

Mischie stopped his steps and stretched out his right hand parallel to his shoulder. We stopped behind him. I'm still confused as to why he stopped us in this condition. I thought, he will soon lead us into the cave without hesitation.

“What's up, Mischie?” I asked while standing in line with Mischie.

Mischie narrowed his eyes and directed him into the cave. Seeing that, I could understand that he was actually observing what was there.

At first glance I followed the direction of Mischie's gaze, but what I saw was a deep black color in the cave. There's nothing but that. However, why would Mischie bother to observe something as meaningless as that.

I turned the eyeballs and then walked casually towards the cave. Suddenly my right hand was pulled to the point of making me stop. Turning my face back, I said boredly, “Why the hell?”

“Wait!” Mischie's eyes stared intently at me as if they were about to hit me in the face.

Releasing Mischie's hand violently, I stared back at him with a blank stare. “What can you see from here? Wouldn't it be nice if we just go straight in?”

“You're stupid, huh?”

“What do you mean say that?” I raised my voice, about to yell at Mischie.

Mischie sighed while shaking her head repeatedly. “Haah .. if we just go straight in there, do you want to guarantee our safety?”

I raise my eyebrows in wonder. How not, because here we have Lize who can see in the dark and can lead us to the right path. Or maybe Mischie just forgot about it? Ah, it's up to him.

Ignoring everything I thought, I gave up on advising Mischie. “All right, all right, I was wrong. From now on you're our leader.” After saying so, I set foot back behind Mischie.

Seconds changed seconds, but Mischie still did not give a cue to walk. Honestly, this situation irritates me a little, but how else, I don't want to bother reprimanding him.

I yawned, bored while I was waiting. And luckily, Mischie finally began to step foot and we who were behind him also walked along.

I thought Mischie was gonna take us away from the cave in front of us. However, it turned out that I was wrong, because he clearly led us into the cave.

What was he thinking?

When I entered the cave, darkness fell. Indeed, at this time my eyes can still see clearly because it has not entered too deep. However, the trauma I had experienced in the cave at that time, still lingered in this head. Really disturbing.

The sound of footsteps continued to echo inside here, but no one wanted to talk to ease this awkward atmosphere. Suddenly, I hit Lize who happened to be in front of me. “Ouch! Sorry!” I said stopping my steps.

When I glanced at Lize, I felt for a moment that she was actually thinking about something. “What's bothering you?” I asked astonishment.

While looking straight ahead, Lize replied, “No... Let's go!”

I was speechless looking at the walking Lize without even taking a glance at me. As if drawn back to reality, I just followed Lize in front of me.

After a long walk, these eyes could see nothing more. The sound of footsteps I heard earlier now changed with the sound of iron clanking. Then slowly, the ground that I was treading shifted to the side until it made me almost fall off balance.

This head became dizzy, the condition of my body trying hard so as not to fall. I closed my eyes so that the dizziness that hit the head soon subsided. After the ground that had shifted had stopped moving, I slowly opened my eyes.

Blurry and slightly wavy, my eyes could not see the bright lighting in here. Realizing that, unconsciously my feet stepped back and these eyes widened to see the situation I was facing right now.

Waving around in surprise, my mind grew increasingly disillusioned by this scene. “Di ... Where is this? Am I dreaming?” I couldn't believe all this and pinched my own cheek. “Argh!” Apparently sick.

While walking straight ahead, my mouth again shouted, “Hei! Anybody! Answer me!”

Damn it, my ears could not hear any answer to the words just now. Glancing to the left and right sides, there were so many torches that had been lit, lined up neatly along the walls.

Walking further, I found a branch that led to the left and the straight path. No matter the road on the left, I still walk forward. What a fate, it turned out that after walking so far down the straight aisle, I only found a dead end.

“Sial!” I shouted loudly until it echoed along the hallway.

After accepting the reality, I turned to head to the intersection I found a moment ago. Continuing to walk with a mouth that never stopped saying, I finally found the intersection, and with annoyance I then turned there.

“Mischie! Lize! Rias! Where are you guys?” In desperation, I shouted the three names. However, just like before, no one answered that question.

Once again I found a branch, but this time it was not just two branches but four branches. Not wanting the same thing to repeat, I turned left and then after a while, turned right and right again. I frowned when I once again found a turn to the right and it turned out that I was back at the same point that was the crossroad I had been through.

“Damn it!” Frustrated, I shouted that word with great annoyance.
