"Mbak Ayu, what are you doing here?" ask the man. A tall strapping man in neat clothes approached and asked me again.
I was silent, confused as to what this eye-glassing doctor was doing here.
"Waiting for the bus" I replied. "What is the doctor doing here?" ask her. The appearance is still the same as before, looks neat with a blue shirt and black material pants.
"This ... just came home from filling out a class at one of the campuses. Ma'am Ayu waiting for the bus? Where you going?" ask him again.
"home."
"Going home? Where did Ayu come from? Where's motor?" asked the Hero Doctor again looking around the stop.
"Just got home from work. The motor is tight, do not want to turn on, so it had gone to public use work," I replied.
"Oh, then, I'll take you home how? We happen to meet. Mbak Ayu's house is also still quite far from here. And it's also late at night" he said again.
I looked towards the distance. It was getting darker, the vehicles were a lot, but did not know what time the bus would come.
"Come, I'll just drop you off, okay?" hail Doctor Wira again. I finally agreed to let him drive me home.
"But the Doctor's house isn't unidirectional from here?"
"Don't mind. I'm using a vehicle. After all, I am a man" he said with a smile.
"So bother the Doctor," I said badly.
"No problem."
I got in the car, the door was then closed by Doctor Wira and he immediately ran around a part of the car.
"It's been a while since we met" said Doctor Wira. "Mother healthy?" tanyanya.
"Alhamdulillah, healthy Doctor."
"Alhamdulillah. Glad to hear that Diah's mom is healthy" the doctor said
"Where do you work?" ask the next Doctor.
"RC," I replied briefly. He nodded his head, his eyes focused on the road ahead. Drizzle down, hit the windshield of the car, the longer the faster.
Fortunately, I went with Doctor Wira. Otherwise, I'd be bored waiting for the bus to come.
"But RC is far from home." Doctor Wira glanced briefly at me.
"Yes, that's fine."
"Why don't you find one near the house?"
"Have been looking, but no one has accepted" I replied.
The doctor nodded his head again.
"Ah, I'm late apparently. Yesterday there was a doctor friend, a woman, she needed an assistant to help her with her boutiques. Understandably, as a doctor he was busy in the hospital, but he also could not leave his boutique that became his dream for a long time. It takes a man to be an accomplice. Honey, I'm late apparently. Ayu's mom is working." Doctor Wira smiled at a glance.
"Yes, it's a pity that I've been working since two months ago on RC."
"Oh, yes. But who knows Mbak Ayu want to change course for example? Not too far from home," he said.
"OK, if later Mbak Ayu is interested, Mbak Ayu can contact me," he said.
I laughed when I heard him say that. I closed my mouth with one hand.
"Why?" ask her with a frown.
"No. It's just that this Physician Hero is like a labor dealer!" my spoken. Doctor Wira laughed after hearing me speak like that.
"Indeed I am a labor dealer, especially for Mbak Ayu," he replied lightly.
"Okay, but it seems, I'm looking to do my job well. Later if I no longer want to be on RC, can I call Doctor Wira?" ask her. Basa of course.
"Of course, as long as the position is still empty of course," he said with a small laugh.
"But if there is already filling, Mbak Ayu became my wife just–,"
I looked at him with reflexes.
"Assistant. I mean be an assistant!" errativeness. He looked misbehaved and sounded nervous as he smiled briefly, then returned to the streets ahead.
The car kept on going, splitting the wet road because of the rain. The air was getting colder with the rain growing and even the AC burning, sending a piercing cold air across my leg bones.
"Cold, huh?" asked the Hero Physician suddenly as I thought about this man's words earlier.
"Eh?"
"Is Mba Ayu cold?" asked Doctor Wira again while pointing at my hands hugging each other.
I smiled shyly. "Lumayan," I replied. The air hasn't been good lately.
The big hand reached for something under the dashboard, as the cold air slowly disappeared.
"Thank you."
...***...
The car arrived in front of the house. The rain was still falling, though not as big as it was.
"Home to home. Ma'am Ayu be careful, don't run!" Wira's doctor warned when the car had just stopped outside the fence. I became flattered by his attention, but this heart could not also be made to change to like him. Don't like it, sympathy isn't! Am I being too cruel?
"Yes, sure. The doctor was also careful on the way. Thank you so much for taking me home" I said. He smiled and nodded his head.
I ran small after successfully opening and closing the gate. Up on the porch, Doctor Wira's car is still out there. He honks the horn if he's ready to go home, I nod my head. The car slowly left the road.
Doctor Wira is a good person. I could see the sincerity that was in his eyes when he looked at me. Not a matter of glasses anymore, after all he is not handsome or with the glasses on his face.
If there were just a slight tremor in my heart to the Physician Hero, I would have relented and tried to come to terms with the situation. However, it feels hard to say yes. It's hard to think I'll be with him.
Recalling the words of the Physician's parents at that time, from his words and tone of voice, they seemed to hint at something. I don't know if I'm being too pity or how, but my feelings are telling me that the family of Doctor Wira doesn't mind if I'm with their son.
I patted my head a little hard.
Maybe you want an imperfect woman like me. Now it could have spoken no problem, but later ...
His parents might also someday discuss and raise this matter, although I believe the parents of the Hero Physician are good people, but I was confused. What if it gets into discussion and ends up getting one hurt? Who will Doctor Wira choose for him to defend?
