CHAPTER 97: 97

Chapter 97: 97

‘How are there so many lightning-element animals in one place?’

John could not help but be surprised by this revelation. Although those ferocious beasts were not that powerful, they all had flashes of lightning flowing over their bodies, revealing the fact that they were all lightning-elemented beasts.

John wishes he could catch this beast and bring it home to be raised, but regrets the fact that he was unable to do so. He had tested the realm of his palace and tried to keep the living animals there, but could not bring anything alive other than himself into nature.

Also, the spatial ring was unable to support life, which made it unable to gather these ferocious beasts.

The peng!

John raised his scythe and attacked, blocking the claw attack of one of the beasts. Other ferocious beasts also pounced forward, wanting to kill the intruders on their land.

John dashed quickly throughout the battlefield, and each swing of his scythe would knock down a savage beast. Like the first beast, this beast was equivalent to a middle Mist Creation cultivator, so John had no problem dispatching them efficiently.

Despite the fact that the beasts had no chance, they still charged towards John regardless of their safety. John continued to slash the beast with ease, but his shock grew more and more with each second. It was unusual for an animal to waste their life like this, let alone dozens at a time.

After a few minutes of fighting, the battlefield went quiet again. At John's feet lay the bodies of more than a dozen different animals.

‘Well, whatever the reason, this savage beast gave me a good supply of blood essence.’

John collected all the bodies and dried their blood essences before continuing.

The same scene repeated itself several times as John encountered even more beasts as he climbed the mountain. Towards the top of the mountain, John begins to encounter the late Mist Creation monster. Although the savage beast was still unable to harm John, he was required to use more of his strength to advance forward.

Bang out!

The scythe hit the back of an animal, and it fell to the ground dead. John swung his scythe to the side, throwing blood from his sword as he caught his breath.

‘How many animals live in this damn mountain?’

John was completely unable to understand their actions, but was happy to see that he was almost at the top of the mountain range. After a few minutes of climbing, he finally reached the peak and peered to the other side of the mountain.

The other side of the mountain revealed a huge depression surrounded by mountains, making it look like a giant bowl. Dark gray clouds churned overhead, and the light enveloping the clouds looked as if they wanted to drop violently in the middle of the crater.

The crater was about ten miles wide, and it was also quite deep. John looked around for more beasts, but was surprised not to see them. His eyes swept around the crater, finally landing in the middle of a very distant crater. John sharpened his eyes to see what was there, but could only see a bright blue light. The lighting sometimes shuts down at the very center, which makes John want to take a closer look.

Carefully, he started descending into the crater to take a closer look at what was in the middle. After a long descent, he was finally close enough to see what was in the middle of the crater.

The four-sided temple, roughly a hundred meters high and fifty meters wide was located in the center of the crater. The temple was deep blue and white, and exuded an ancient aura. The occasional lighting rained down and hit the roof of the temple, which would then flow throughout the building.

After examining the surrounding area from any danger, John was unable to see anything of concern and proceeded towards the temple. After a few minutes of walking, John immediately stood in front of the temple. He peered into the open archway leading into the temple, but could not see any records.

‘Standing here won't take me anywhere.’

John carefully started walking forward, keeping his guard up in case of any sudden danger. After walking through the main hall for a while, John finally reached a wide open room like the one in the first palace he, Miko and Ryan met. In the middle of the room, a round object rests on a pedestal. John raised his eyebrows as he stared at the ground around the thing.

Dozens of human skeletons were laid around the pedestal. Most of the skeletons were charred black, a sign of damage from lightning. John once again raised his vigilance, wary of anything that caused the death of all these people.

John observed the object for some time before daring to do anything. The object emitted an extremely beautiful blue color, and small flashes of lightning danced over it. Every time the temple was struck by lightning, he noticed that most of the lighting went into the building and directly hit the round object.

Every time this happened, the bright aura of the object would become slightly bright. This process repeated many times before John finally decided to send out his heavenly sense to see if he could get a clue.

A heavenly feeling carefully spread towards the pedestal, but he hurriedly pulled it as a voice echoed throughout the empty room.

“I suggest you leave this place.”
