Chapter 33: 33

“Excuse?” john asked confusedly. The boy's question was completely unexpected. The driver was nagging him. He simply pulled the whip to teach her a lesson and nothing more.

“I asked how do you want to die?” repeat the boy. Two guards quickly jumped out of the carriage and surrounded John on each side.

“Late Mist Creation! Both. It seems like this brat is someone quite important in the kingdom who has two Mist Creation guards who are late following him!” Although John was surrounded by two Late Mist Creation realm cultivators, he was not worried.

He turned away from the guards and went back to the boy as if he was a fool.

The boy became angry with the way John looked at him. “Kill him!” yelled the boy.

The guards had just arrived at the scene and had yet to take the opportunity to assess the situation, but their young master's orders were orders. They took out their weapons and were about to attack John before they suddenly stopped. Fear quickly appeared on the faces of the two of them. Their eyes fell on John's hand.

In John's hand was a small item. It was a small badge that had a carving of a phoenix with an ornament on it. It was the badge of the Fenix Clan, and every member of the Fenix Clan had it. It was almost impossible to fake, and was used by the members of the Fenix Clan to identify themselves quickly. Although John had this back when he was attacked by the bandits, he had no intention of revealing his identity and therefore did not issue this badge.

“The guards are very blind. I have the emblem of Fenix embroidered on the shoulders and back of my robe!” thought John.

“What did you stop for? Kill him!” yelled the young man again. He clearly did not recognize the emblem of the Fenix Clan. The boy lives a sheltered and pampered life, and doesn't care to learn about the forces around him. Fear appeared on both of the guards' faces as they quickly reprimanded the boy.

“Young Master, apologize to this man now!” shouted one of the guards. He immediately followed up by turning to John and saying, “Young master, please don't be offended. Our young master is spoiled and out of control. He doesn't know who you are.”

The boy was confused by the reaction of his bodyguard. He was just about to shout once more when his guard appeared right in front of him. He leaned over and whispered into the boy's ear, where the boy's eyes grew big in surprise.

His guard quickly turned towards John and spoke before his young master could cause further damage. “Young Lord of the Fenix Fenix Clan, please accept our most sincere apologies. We'll go.” The guard quickly turned around and started dragging his young master back to the carriage.

“Wait!” screams came from behind the guards. The guard grimaced before turning around.

“Yes, young lord of the Fenix Clan? Can I help you?” ask guards.

“He asked for my death. Had I not been like this, I would have died in your hands. Don't you think going like this is too easy?” asked John in anger. If he was an ordinary person and not a member of the Fenix Clan, John would have been dead by now. Everything to stand on the train track for too long.

“Please, young lord of the Fenix Clan. Our young master is Duke Trommel's youngest son."

The guard was clearly trying to use the status of the young master as a shield from any punishment. John scoffed at the man's response. John was a direct descendant of the leader of the Fenix Clan himself. Not only was the Fenix Clan stronger than the Dreadel Kingdom, John's status was much higher than that of a boy. Even if the boy was a prince of the Dreadel Kingdom, he still had to respect John.

John doesn't like to show off the strength of his clan, but every now and then it's needed. This was one of those times. He still felt annoyed at the way the driver and the boy treated him. They considered all under them, to the point that they took lives for trivial reasons.

The eyes of the guards widened in horror, his worst fear manifested. Not only was the boy in front of him a member of the Fenix Clan, he was also a direct descendant of the leader of the Fenix Clan. The brat in front of him was someone that even Duke Trommel had to respect, let alone the Duke's son.

The guard hesitated for a moment before replying, “I will deliver today's event to Duke Trommel himself. We will give you the appropriate answer before you leave the kingdom.”

John nodded his head at the guards answer. The guard heaved a sigh of relief before quickly turning around and boarding the carriage with the boy. He also threw the injured driver into the carriage, while the other guards took the driver's coat. Onyx horses shot off into the distance.

John watched the train depart before he began to chuckle.

“Although I do not like to abuse my status, sometimes it is quite convenient. That's quite refreshing.”

John knows what it feels like to be helpless. Most of his life was spent helplessly and watching others soar. Therefore, John had a weak point for the weak, he understood their struggle. The Duke's son was clearly someone who did not care about the lives of the commoners and the weak, he only cared about himself. John hates people like him the most.

After facing the situation, John queues up to enter the Kingdom. The closest people who had witnessed the event looked at John with shock and respect. The Duke's son was known by all commoners as a terrible and vile man. All of them did their best to avoid it at all costs. Seeing the Duke's son suffer such a loss was quite refreshing for them.

John waited in line for almost an hour before he reached the front line.

“One silver coin,” said the guard guard guarding the gate.

“Silver? It was quite expensive compared to other places” replied John.

The guard looked at John before replying, “The Dreadel Kingdom is a stronghold of power in the surrounding area, and therefore many people are trying to enter and stay inside. Silver entry fee is intended to prevent items from becoming overcrowded.”

“Oh” murmured John. He took out a silver coin and gave it to the guard.

The guard took the money and handed him a piece of paper. “This paper is your proof of payment. This applies to one week, at which time you should update it.”

John took the paper before going inside. The bustling city soon appeared to John. Thousands of people are seen walking on busy streets, living their daily lives. Fog Creation realm cultivators were quite common, and John even noticed some Qi Condensation realm guards walking around.

“This place definitely deserves its reputation” thought John while walking on a busy street. John walked for some time before finally arriving in front of a large building. It had a deep purple-colored wall and was ten stories tall and a hundred meters wide. Two magnificent lion statues were placed on either side of the front entrance, and a steady stream of people entered and exited the building. John reads the first signboard, which is written in capital letters.

“Mystic Trade Hall? Never heard of it. Let's see what's in it.”
