John and Ryan arrived at the sparring arena moments later and entered one of the empty arenas. Dozens of ongoing spars can be seen occurring in the main sparing area or in many battle arenas.

John and Ryan both took out blunt practice swords before walking to the opposite end of the arena.

“Show me what you got!” Ryan shouted to John from across the arena as he held his sword by his side.

John smiled and started running towards Ryan “Here I come. Prepare yourself!”

Ryan scoffed but said nothing. He watched as John started running towards him, and steadied his sword as he also dashed towards John.

The two of them approached each other and swung their swords forward.

The peng!

The sound of colluded swords rang out and John and Ryan came to a sudden halt. Their swords were locked together, and no one had the advantage of strength in that last exchange.

A slightly surprised expression appeared on Ryan's face after the exchange. Although he did not use his full strength there, he still used around fifty percent and thought John would be repulsed due to his higher cultivation.

“Not bad!” Ryan was impressed with John's strength.

“I know that's not all you have. Come to me in real” John replied as the two of them jumped back and stared at each other.

Ryan began to laugh at John's provocation. “Haha, fine, but don't blame me if you get hurt. I will attack with full force so prepare yourself.”

Ryan took a wide stance and raised his sword which started to glow slightly before slashing it towards John. A powerful sword light flew straight towards John.

‘It looks like Ryan is not lazy either. This attack was even more powerful than the attack from the Mist Creation Assassin I last fought. ‘

John quickly channeled his Qi into his legs and used the first step of the Five Step Movement technique to dodge the attack. Ryan immediately reacted and used his own movement technique to close the distance between them.

“If you will just dodge my attack, then I will start attacking from near.” Ryan reached John quickly and slashed down with his sword. His sword shone slightly as he slashed towards John.

‘I can avoid this attack with the second step, but I'm here to have fun.’

John raised his own sword and quickly attacked with his Mountain Shattering Sword.

The explosion!

John quickly recovered and immediately ran forward again and sent another Mountain Destroying Sword towards Ryan. Ryan quickly dodged the attack and sent his sword splitting John's waist.

John quickly pointed his sword and immediately raised it to block the attack. The sword collided and once again John was knocked back while Ryan stood firm. Ryan directly followed up his attack with a long-range Qi attack. John sent out his own Mountain Crushing Sword, and the two techniques collided in midair. Ryan's attack slightly inundated Johns, where he continued to fly towards John, although it weakened significantly.

John quickly ran to the side and dodged the attack.

The explosion!

The ground behind John kicked the earth as a Qi attack landed on it. John once again ran towards Ryan and swung his sword down and Ryan raised his sword to block, but just as the sword was about to collide, John used a second step to appear at Ryan's side. Ryan immediately turned around and attacked with a Qi attack, but was surprised to not hit anything other than air.

John used the third step of the Five-Step Movement Technique to appear behind Ryan, where he charged out with the Mountain-Destroying Sword. Ryan was surprised at the speed of John's movement technique, but managed to quickly turn around and send his own attack towards Johns.

The explosion!

The technique collides when Ryan and John are repulsed. John panted a little for his numerous attacks as he stared at Ryan and wiped the sweat off his eyebrows. Ryan's breathing was slightly wheezing, but other than that, he was mostly fine.

‘It seems like trying to fight Ryan with just my middle Mist Creation essence attack was a bit too much. I need to use my scythe and Myriad Annihilation Scythe to fight it at least evenly. Time to add body strength to the mix. ‘

Ryan paused for a moment and looked at John. “It really can't be everything huh? Where will this power you claim win the tournament?”

John smiled again. “Prepare yourself Ryan, our warm-up is over!”

A serious expression appeared on John's face as he began to explosively channel the Qi from his dantian body into his body. John's face instantly changed as a hardened expression appeared in his eyes. Ryan's face immediately stiffened as he saw the aura around John change in an instant.

Before while fighting, John had a normal aura around him, but now all Ryan could feel was an intense and sinister bloodlust, as well as an intimidating battle aura emanating from John. This aura was a combination of the Eternal Asura Body, the evil aspect of the Qi that John produced, as well as the newly obtained blood n*fsu that John had collected by killing all cultivators on his recent journey. John's furious desire to cultivate in front of the sinister gate also added to the mix, making his fighting aura evil and resolute.

John himself was unaware of the intense aura he was projecting.

It took a few seconds for Ryan to realize that he was breathing hard enough before he managed to control his breathing and emotions.

“What really happened?” thought Ryan as he looked towards John. Although he had no idea what was going on, Ryan was well aware of the fact that John was like a completely different person at the moment.

“He's even stronger than me now, I guess. I have to use my full strength to get a chance.” Ryan steadied his sword and prepared to use his strongest attack.

“This I came. Prepare yourself!” John pressed down from the ground and ran towards Ryan.
