Chapter 116: 116
The group quickly ran towards the edge of the cliff and looked down. A huge vortex of energy surged down below, and John could not be found.
“We let him go!” one of the boys said sadly. John's last words were still on his mind.
“Go? Do you see how far this ravine is down? Or the whirlpool down there. He's dead,” Jason replied, and Parker nodded in agreement. None of them were confident of being able to survive such a fall or bear the powerful whirlpool energy, let alone a Fog Creation junior weaker than them. Even though they knew John had a strong body, they still believed he could not survive this fall.
Jason turned away from the ravine and towards Parker. “You know, I still doubt if you're right, but now I'm sure. I will make sure you enter our sect. But as an entryway to enter, I ‘
A small smile appeared on Parker's face. “Do not worry, I will fulfill the task given to me.”
“Good. Lefs go. Now that this is settled, we still have about a month to look for more opportunities.”
The group left the battlefield and walked back into the forest, not staring at the dark abyss at a glance.
…
Darkness took hold of John as he jumped into the abyss. The giant vortex of pure multi-colored energy drew closer in his vision, until he finally entered it.
The Supreme Art of Combat!
John unleashed his supreme battle art, leaving nothing behind. His body was strengthened to its maximum condition, but even so, he found it extremely difficult to withstand the terrifying whirlpools. Small pieces of skin and flesh continuously tore through his body as he plunged further inside, and his bones began to creak from the pressure. If it wasn't for the lightning trials, John believed this pain would have rendered him unconscious, resulting in his death.
John continued to fall for a few minutes, growing increasingly shocked in the depths of the abyss. The enormous flow of energy was almost condensed, slowing its decline, extending its fate in its powerful current. After fifteen minutes of unending pain and suffering, John felt like he was on the edge. Just when he thought he would not be able to hold on anymore, the whirlpool stopped, and John found himself falling quickly once again.
The explosion!
John landed hard on the floor of the ravine, causing dust and rocks to kick off the heavy runway. His vision began to fade, and before long, John found himself falling unconscious from a lack of energy and pain.
…
An unknown amount of time later, John slowly opened his eyes. Darkness filled all directions, while just above, John could see the massive energy vortex kept spinning.
“Okay, it feels like I don't have a single part of my body that isn't injured,” John murmured as he struggled to sit down. He stuffed the healing pill into his mouth, and was disappointed that his stash of healing pills was almost empty.
“I guess I have used it quite generously,” grumbled John.
After taking the pill, John took out a piece of cooked meat and bit him. Her stomach was rumbling in protest, and she desperately needed her body to get full energy and health quickly. While eating, John looked around the deep abyss. The multi-colored vortex of energy above gave a faint glow to the depths of the abyss, but most were still shrouded in darkness.
While eating, John noticed that in one direction, the energy vortex seemed to be tapering down, like a tornado touching the ground.
“What is it? Is there something there?”
John wanted to explore, but his body was almost destroyed due to the damage he suffered from the whirlpool and the fall.
John continued to eat his leg which contained cooked animal flesh while staring around, but nothing other than the one direction in which the whirlpool landed revealed anything worth noting.
“I have to heal for some time before I can move. I think I've been out for a few days, and it might take a week to heal.
John doesn't know how he's going to get out of here, but according to his father, the kingdom automatically expels everything inside by the end of two weeks.
“I think I should have survived here that long,” grumbled John.
After spending an entire week on healing, John finally stood up with a body full of vigor and energy. Strength burst out from his body, indicating that it was at its peak condition once again.
“Now, let's explore that area.”
John began walking towards the area in the distance where the whirlpool tapered to the ground. The dim light allowed John to see a little, but his alertness was raised to the maximum as he advanced cautiously. The area John wanted to explore was dozens of miles away, and it took several days of careful travel to reach it.
The journey ahead was rather smooth, as John did not experience a single sign of danger.
“So far no, not even animals or formations or anything. Not that I'm complaining.”
After facing all the struggles and fights in the pocket world, John was fresh enough to rest once. As he approached the area for the next few days, the downward-reaching whirlpool grew even more engorged in his vision. Finally, when he was only a mile away, the whirlpool was like a giant tornado that violently struck the ground.
John sharpened his eyes to see where the whirlpool met the ground, and finally saw an object at its base. A large object was illuminated by the concentrated light from the whirlpool above.
“That's..another temple? Really, is it all about this world? More temples?”
Once again, John found himself standing in front of a large and magnificent temple. The temple was several hundred meters tall, and was pure marble white in color. Swirls of energy flowed violently onto the roof of the temple, and it seemed to be continuously being absorbed into it. The large white gate in front of the temple stood open, as if inviting everyone to enter.
“I have entered every temple I have found so far, so why not add another one to the.” list
John stepped forward towards the open gate. A powerful energy emanated high above his head as it smashed into the roof of the temple and exploded outwards. John's body trembled as he felt the intensity of that energy, which was hundreds of times stronger than where he had fallen.
“If I fall into the abyss at this moment, and not in the periphery of the whirlpool, I will definitely die.”
John brushed off the frightening feeling and proceeded to the temple. The white marble temple opens into one expensive room on the inside, which is also completely white. In the center, a soft white ball of light floated tens of meters in the air. His strength and depth were unlike anything John had ever experienced in his life, only able to be rivaled by the profound aura emanating from the gates within his own palace kingdom.
“What is it?”
