Chapter 9: 9

“Ah, this weapon is quite special. Although it is made of the highest quality materials when compared to the other weapons on this floor, this weapon has been stored here for several hundred years without anyone choosing it.”

John reached out to the only weapon, his fingers touching the pitch-black handle. His fingers traced upwards to a sharply curved blade, which cut through it on contact.

“Aduh!” exclaiming John. He did not expect the weapon to be so sharp. Just by slightly moving his fingers over the blade, his blood flowed. He could only imagine what would happen when one was attacked by this weapon at full power.

“It would have been worth it if this weapon was made. Deep dark crimsonite ores are actually quite rare, and are usually used to make Core Formation grade weapons. I never understood why someone made this weapon using this rare material only at this level. . This material is suitable for Core Formation level weapons “seru Elder Lawson.

The weapon in front of John and the elder was a black scythe with a red color scattered throughout the weapon. The slender scythe handle stretched six feet, with a three-foot curved blade at the end. The sharp rear side with three branches on opposite sides of the crescent blade, as well as the sharp spear-like protrusions on the top of the blade sticking out, made the weapon look quite formidable.

“Why hasn't anyone chosen this weapon before?” ask John. Based on what he could see before him, the weapon was extremely outstanding for a Mist Creation-class weapon.

The first problem with the weapon was that it was a scythe. As I'm sure you know, almost no one uses a scythe, because it's a pretty awkward weapon to use. Being proficient with a scythe is much more difficult than being proficient with, say a sword or spear. The second point was related to the materials used to make the weapon. Scythes users are known for their speed and agility on the battlefield, while these weapons are too heavy for any Mist Creation realm cultivators to use properly “ Elder Lawson explained.

After staring at the weapon for a few seconds, Elder Lawson continued, “That's why I mentioned the waste of good materials on this weapon.” The elder shook his head and sighed at the thought of the wasted material.

John studied the weapon for a while before grabbing its grip. Taking a deep breath, John exerted all his strength to take the weapon.

Slowly, inch by inch, the weapon lifted off the weapon rack. “I. Don'tdon't. Believed in. I can't. Select. You're. Naik” grumbled John with gritted teeth. After fifteen seconds of struggling to pick up a weapon, John finally managed to lift it waist-high before losing his grip on the weapon.

“Peng!”

The weapon let out a deafening sound as it collided with the dark stone floor. Elder Lawson sighed as he pointed to the scythe, making it float back to its original position. “As I said, the weapon was completely unreasonable, and therefore no one chose it as long as I can remember. It's already very impressive that you can take up this weapon at all in the realm of Blood Refining.”

John stared at the gun for a long time. For some inexplicable reason, from the moment he saw the scythe he was drawn to it. Not this scythe in particular, but rather a general sense of familiarity when he saw the scythe. Although John had trained in the art of the sickle during his weapons training program, he had never felt any closeness to the weapon, instead finding it quite complicated. Now, however, John felt a strange familiarity that he could not describe.

“Elder Lawson, it's okay if I take this gun?” ask John. He didn't know why, but John wanted this gun.

“Well, normally Body Refiners are not allowed to choose Mist Creation level weapons .. but since this weapon has not been selected for hundreds of years, I guess I can make an exception” replied the elder.

“Thank you” John gracefully thanked the elder before turning towards the weapon. He rubbed his fingers along the hilt and blade a few more times before storing the weapon in his storage ring.

John followed the elder back down, down,

“I have practiced the sickle technique in the past, but I am not as adept at using the sickle as most other weapons. I wonder if White Feather's martial library has more books on fundamental sickle techniques? I've looked around the first two and a half floors, but I don't remember much seeing the scythe there “ thought John while walking towards the martial library.

Arriving at the library a few minutes later, John entered the building and walked towards the main receptionist.

“Sorry, do you know if this library has books on techniques and sickle base?” john asked as he approached the receptionist of the main lobby. The man looked up from his desk and replied, “On the fourth floor, in the weapons section. There is one book on the basics of the sickle.”

“Thank you” John replied as he walked towards the stairs leading to the higher floor. After climbing the stairs, John arrived on the fourth floor and walked to the weapons section. Finding the right passageway, John studied the books for a few minutes before finding what he wanted.

“Ah, here it is,” said John while reading the cover of ‘Technics and Basic Position Scythe.’ Taking the book off the shelf, John proceeded to the fourth-floor balcony overlooking the martial practice area and sat down. Opening the book to the first page, John began to read the contents inside.

“The basis of the sickle is simple but complicated. The essence of the crescent fight is sharpness and flexibility. Agility and strength. Speed and decisiveness. While other weapons rely on powerful art and great heritage, the sickle focuses on one thing: reaping lives. … “

John raised his eyebrows at the initial description of the scythe battle before continuing to read the rest of the book. The book covers everything from basic horses, to complex attack trajectories. Engrossed in the content before him, John once again forgot the time.

The bright moon hung high in the sky, emitting light all around before John was well aware and aware of the time. Stretching his aching leg, John stood up and stepped back into the library, returning the book to its original location.

After arriving home, John had dinner with his family before going to his room and getting into bed.

“Tomorrow, I will return to the forest to really test my new strength” thought John while slowly falling asleep.

John found himself once again drifting in the void, but unlike the void in the palace, there was no mist blocking his sight. In all directions, John could see stars glittering in the endless distance.

In the void thousands of miles away, John could barely see the two figures floating there, staring at each other. Although no feature of the two was visible, John was sure that there were two figures floating there in the darkness.

Suddenly, an indescribable explosion filled the void, radiating out from where the two figures were hovering. John watches as space collapses and disintegrates as the explosion annihilates everything he passes through, including John himself.
