Chapter 8: 8
The black blood in front of John was proof of his breakthrough to the Blood Refining realm. When one managed to purify all of their blood and step into the Blood Refining realm, blood impurities would be expelled, that is, the black blood that John had just spewed out.
John was now at the peak of the realm of Body Refining. He felt as if all of this was too good to be true. A week ago, John was still unable to cultivate, but now he was ready to handle the Fog Creation realm. John sat there for a while before picking up the barrel containing the rest of the pills.
“I actually promised Elder Barus that I would return the remaining pills after I finished. I hope he's not too angry with me for having used so many pills” John thought as he stepped out of his room with a barrel in the gun.
Arriving at the Medicine Pavilion, John entered and found Elder Barus still cataloguing his medicinal ingredients. John walked in the older direction, but was not sure what to say. Elder Barus looked up from his work and saw John standing there, a barrel in hand. He observed John with heavenly wits, before smiling slightly.
“Ah, I see you have finally managed to break through to the realm of Blood Refinement. I'm guessing you actually used that pill. Tell me, how much did you use to break through?” ask the older man as he stood up and walked towards John.
John did not answer the older one, and instead handed the barrel to the older one, a wry smile on his face the entire time. Elder Barus received the barrel and looked inside, a shocked expression flashed across his face until it turned into a hint of anger.
“John, what are you doing with the other pills. Don't tell me you ate more than fifty pills from this barrel. No one would believe such nonsense,” said the old man in a raised voice.
“I actually ate all those pills, Elder Barus. I don't know what else to say to you,” replied John, a timid expression on his face. The elder carefully studied John, but did not see the expression from him which led the elder to believe that John was lying.
Elder Barus sighed before saying, “Maybe it is a broken pile, so its potential is reduced. I just need to make another pill for now.”
John thanked the Elder for not being too angry before he said goodbye and left the building. After exiting the Medicine Pavilion, John realized that it was getting late and returned to his home. After greeting his parents and dinner, John climbed the stairs to his bedroom and fell to his bed before falling asleep.
The next morning, John went through his usual morning routine before exiting his front door.
“What should I do today?” thought John. “I think I'll go to the weapons hall and pick up another weapon. The sword I have now still works fine, but it will become too light and weak shortly thereafter.”
John turned right and walked towards the Thousand Weapons Hall. The Weapon Hall was located across the street from the White Feather Martial Library, both of them close to the martial practice grounds.
After walking for a few minutes, John arrived in front of Thousand Weapons Hall. The hall was so named because there were about a thousand different weapons that one could choose from. The weapon hall stood five floors high, and was made of pure black stone, giving off a pretty impressive feeling.
Each floor had weapons for different cultivation levels, with Body Refinement level weapons existing on the first floor, Fog Creation level weapons on the second floor, Qi Condensation level weapons on the third floor, and so on, and finally a Core Formation level weapon on the fourth floor. As for the fifth floor, only clan leaders and important elders knew what was there.
John observed the building for a few seconds before climbing up the front steps and entering the building. Looking around, John saw that the front area of the entrance was quite small, with only a table in the middle and an entrance behind it. At the table sat an elder from the clan in charge of the weapon hall.
John walks forward towards the elder and calls out “Greetings Elder Lawson.”
The elder looked at John, a little surprised to see him. “Greetings John, this is the first time I have seen you here if not mistaken” replied the elder.
“Yes, this is my first time here. I'm here to get gun” replied John. He took out his sword from his storage ring and showed it to Elder Lawson. “This is the sword I have used, but I need to upgrade it as ‘
The elder observed the sword for a few seconds before replying, “I heard today that you broke through and can now cultivate? Looks like the rumor was true.” He grabbed the sword and quietly observed it before continuing, “I guess you will need a more powerful weapon now that you can cultivate. Come with me, I'll take you to the Body Repair weapon section. I can show you some good swords for you that are similar to this one in size and shape. ”
The elder handed back his sword to John before turning around and heading to the only door behind the table, John followed behind. Elder Lawson took out a set of keys before inserting one into the door lock, turning the key to the side to open it.
Following the elder through the door, John surveyed the room in front of him in awe. The room in front of him was a hundred feet long and a hundred feet wide, and had hundreds of weapons from different types of upholstery racks placed around the perimeter of the room. The weapons were sorted by type, with each shelf containing dozens of weapons. There's a ladder on the right side of the room, heading upstairs
“This is all a weapon suitable for Body Repair cultivators” Elder Lawson said before continuing. “The sword of comparable size and shape to your current sword is in the right corner of the room, although it is made of metal of much better quality, giving more weight and strength.”
After taking a quick look at the other weapons, John realized that none of them were a match for him like his greatsword and walked over to the part indicated by the elder. Arriving in front of the rack, John could see dozens of large swords of various shapes and colors. After observing the various swords for some time, John reached out to take out one large sword he liked the most. It was a deep blue, and the blade was nearly five feet long and six inches wide on the handle, eventually narrowing to the tip of the blade.
Grabbing the sword hilt, John tried to grab it casually to check it out, but was surprised to find that the sword was much heavier than usual.
“This sword must have weighed nearly a hundred pounds” John thought as he exerted his strength to pick up the sword. After struggling for a moment, John steadied the sword in front of him. He started swinging his sword, trying the various movements he had trained for great swords, albeit with some difficulty.
“This sword is made of azurite iron ore, much heavier and stronger than ordinary iron ore. This is one of the best weapons on this floor in terms of quality,” Elder Lawson said as he watched John swing it.
“I love it,” replied John. “I think I'll pick this one.” John studied the blade for a few seconds, admiring its skill before storing it in the spatial ring.
John and the elder started walking back to the front door, at which point a timid expression appeared on John's face. “Older Lawson, do you think I can go up to the next floor and see Mist Creation-class weapons?” ask John.
Elder Lawson turned around and saw John's timid expression before replying “It broke the rule.”
A sad expression appeared on John's face before it was immediately replaced with excitement. “But I was never the one to follow the rules,” Elder Lawson replied before turning around and walking towards the stairs.
John followed the elder up the stairs, before finally arriving on the second floor. The second floor was very similar to the first, with dozens of weapon racks housing different types of weapons. John walked forward and started inspecting each weapon rack.
The quality and aura of this weapon was much deeper than the weapons on the first floor, John thought. John finally came to the large sword section, and began to look at all the swords present. As before, there were swords of various sizes and shapes, with various colors as well.
John reached out and took out one of the swords, exerting his strength to retrieve it after his lesson on the first floor.
“Gah. It's heavy.” John struggled to say it with gritted teeth as he picked up the sword, successfully lifting it to waist height.
“Ya, of course,” Elder Lawson said. “This huge sword weighs two hundred pounds and is meant for cultivators in the Fog Creation realm. You are still only at Body Refinement realm. The fact that you can take it at all is already astounding.”
John struggled for a few seconds before running out of energy and dropping the sword.
“Gedebuk!”
The sword collided with the black stone floor, sparks flying everywhere.
“Ah sorry” exclaimed John as he reached out to take the sword and return it to its place. As he reached out his hand, John cried out a little in shock as the sword began to float in front of him before gently sitting on the weapon rack. He turned around to see Elder Lawson move his hand slightly with a smile.
“Don't worry about that. Both the sword and the floor are sturdy enough not to be damaged because it” replied the elder.
John looked in the older direction but said nothing. According to what he knew about cultivation, cultivators in the Qi Condensation realm and above could use their control over Qi to move things without touching it. In the Fenix Clan, to become an elder, one must have a cultivation level at least at the early Core Formation realm.
“Thank you for showing the second gun floor,” said John. He started following the elder back towards the stairs, his eyes still fixed on the weapon in the room.
Suddenly, John stopped, staring at the part of the weapon floor he had not noticed before. John turned around and started walking, before finally arriving in front of the weapon rack in the far corner of the room.
Elder Lawson was surprised by John's sudden action, before he too turned around and walked to where John was standing. John stood there for some time before he reached out toward the weapon.
