Chapter 72: 72
John nodded towards the referee of the Varis Clan before he turned around and started to get off the stage.
“Wait a minute.” A loud voice sounded from the stands. The audience all turned towards the source of the voice, Warren Gildar.
“There is no way the Mist Creator boy is beating one of my juniors easily.I have a feeling that he used some kind of powerful treasure or artifact to help him, which is clearly forbidden.”
Waylon Varis was just about to respond when Barden Fenix suddenly shouted instead.
“What the hell are you talking about you b*jing*n slimy old? Our Fenix Clan is not like your sect, we do not cheat and never do. Moreover, I'm sure even an old rascal like you should be aware that the fluctuations of a treasure or a powerful artifact released would be easily visible to all of us. Sit down while you still have dignity left. “
Warren Gildar narrowed her eyes as she looked at Barden furiously. “You dare talk to me like that boy?” Warren Gildar was the sect leader of the Crimson Valley Sect, and was over three hundred years old. Compared to him, Barden Fenix, who was around fifty years old, was only a child, even though both of them had Core Formation cultivation.
“What's so? What are you going to do?” Barden shouted back in anger. He is proud of John's achievements, but Crimson Valley's b*n is trying to get John disqualified without any evidence.
Warren was just about to respond when Waylon Varis spoke up. “We all know that John did not use any artifacts or treasures, or we will all be aware of it. Is there anything else you want to say or will you return to your seat?”
Warren looked at Waylon before replying, “Good, but the boy was clearly attacking with excessive force. He can easily win that fight without breaking half a bone in our junior's body.”
“Excessive force. Give your child some healing pills and in a few weeks he will be back to full health.” Cade Fenix silently listened to Warren from his mouth, but he ended up yelling angrily at Warren's behavior.
“He's right. Although John used more power than necessary to win, it was not excessive in terms of being disqualified. John has won this round, so let's continue.” Waylon sided with Cade Fenix on the matter as well.
“Good, but don't blame us if your Fenix Clan boys get hurt ‘excess’ in the next round.” Warren returned to his seat, but not before uttering one final warning.
John stood still there as the conversation was going on, at which point he was returned to his seat by Ryan and Miko. Many of the surrounding Fenix Clan members looked at John with respect and respect, especially those already eliminated.
“Haha, good work. I didn't expect less than that.” Ryan said when John came back.
“Fucking it feels so much fun to watch. Do it again in your next fight.” Miko eagerly followed it up. He felt extremely refreshed every time he saw a member of the Crimson Valley Sect being beaten up, especially with the way John won.
“Haha, don't worry, there are many more to come.” John chuckled as he sat down.
Miko turned to John afterwards and excitedly began to urge him with questions.
“How did you become so strong? And how did you beat that guy that fast?”
John just shrugged at Miko's question, which further triggered Miko's barrage of questions.
After the audience calmed down, the remaining fight continued until the winner was decided. After twenty eliminations, sixty-four participants remained in the tournament. Waylon Varis went back to the main stage and spoke to the audience.
“Now we have sixty-four juniors left. This tournament would be a single preliminary round, and whoever entered the top sixteen automatically qualified for pocket realm. The last four slots will be decided once we have a winner. We will post next round match soon”
“It looks like you got up right away. Good luck !!” John told Ryan.
“Mhm, after your show, I also can not have less performance.” Ryan confidently walked up to his fighting platform while John walked back to the stands and sat down next to Miko.
Ryan's first opponent was one of the winners of the first round of forty contestants. It was a girl from the Flowing River Sect, who seemed to be around fifteen years old. His light blue robe seemed to be waving in the wind like a meandering stream, and he held a thin light blue sword by his side.
Ryan nodded his head at her, and she did the same. The referee explains the rules once again before the official match starts. The girl knew she was the least seeded in the fight, so she immediately started the fight with her full strength.
The Flowing River Sect focused on fluidity and speed in battle, as opposed to the pure power methods of other clans and sects. The girl used a movement technique to quickly close the distance between her and Ryan, and attacked with her sword as she approached him.
The peng!
Ryan raised his own sword and managed to fend off the attack. She was just about to follow up with her own when the girl used a unique-looking movement technique and gracefully turned around and appeared by Ryan's side. A sword pierced through his waist from an awkward angle, which caused Ryan to jump slightly in shock as he used his fastest movement technique to retreat.
A small piece of Ryan's robe was cut off by the girl's sword as she dodged the attack. Even though he knew his opponent would be formidable, Ryan still assumed it wouldn't be too difficult because he was seeded much higher, though, but it was only now that he realized that Qi strength and battle power were not the same thing.
The girl in front of him must have gotten used to fighting, and her graceful yet unpredictable fighting style made it quite difficult for Ryan to predict what he would do next.
The girl once again appeared in front of Ryan and directly stabbed forward with her sword. It seemed to falter and change trajectory as it approached him, and Ryan was unsure if he would manage to fend it off. He raised his sword to block the impending attack, but the girl's sword spun to the side at the last moment and managed to pierce through his shoulder. Ryan quickly retreated backwards as blood started flowing from his shoulder.
The girl ran towards Ryan once more, hoping to keep attacking and stabbing her sword at him. Ryan decided not to fight such an opponent at their speed, and instead exerted his full strength to jump high in the air, barely dodging the blow. The girl looked up to see Ryan with a glowing sword held high above her head.
The Fierce Splitting Technique!
The powerful red radiance from the Qi-destroying sword struck the girl. He hurriedly used the movement technique to dodge it, but the shockwave from the technique violently struck the ground making him lose his balance. Ryan landed on the ground and quickly used the Ferocious Cleavage Technique once again, and sent a beam of powerful sword Qi towards the girl.
The girl, still unbalanced due to the attack, hurriedly raised her delicate sword and used her own techniques to fend it off.
The technique collided and the girl was sent flying backwards a dozen yards, but she managed to land gracefully on her feet.
The explosion!
Just as the girl landed, the third Ferocious Splitting Technique barely escaped her and landed on the ground directly to her side and the force of the explosion immediately sent the girl flying once more. The girl landed hard on the ground and fell down several times before she managed to get up and prepared to stand up.
His eyes quickly opened in surprise as he stared right in front of him. The tip of the sword was two inches from his face, and if he wanted to, Ryan could easily kill the girl before he could answer.
A disappointed expression appeared on the girl's face before she opened her mouth. “I acknowledge.”
