The Asura Immortal Asuras
CHAPTER 18: 18

Chapter 18: 18

Near the flower sleeps a Night Wolf. The Night Wolf is dark black, and mostly hunts at night. They range from early mist making to final mist making, depending on their age. The wolf in front of John was at the level of an early Mist Creation.

Although beasts did not cultivate like humans did, they emitted a natural aura that made it easy to judge the level of their strength.

John stood as still as possible, afraid that any sound would make the beast wary. He stood there for a few minutes, not moving forward or backward. The savage beast, unaware of his presence, slept soundly.

“Although I am much stronger than when I fought the Dark Spotted Panther, there is still no way I can defeat this creature.” thought John. A conflicted expression appeared on his face as he argued about what to do.

“I can't beat Night Wolf, but on the other hand, the Sunflower Mist Essence is very important to me.” John stared at the wolf for some time before clenching his fists tightly.

“I need this flower. If I was in danger, I would just teleport” John thought as he slowly slipped towards the flower.

After slipping forward slowly for a few minutes, John began to approach the flower from the opposite side to the wolf.

“I'm almost there. Just a few more meters.”

Every second was tense as John slowly approached the flower. Just as he was about to pick up and store the flower, Night Wolf quickly opened his eyes.

“AUMING!”

An extremely loud and ferocious roar resounded throughout the cave. The Night Wolf had sensed John's presence just as he was about to take the flower, and so he woke up in a furious rage.

“Sial” shouted John as he hurriedly retreated and ran towards the cave exit with all his speed, ignoring all thoughts of getting the flower.

John suddenly stopped as he was ten meters away from the cave exit. The Night Wolf clearly sensed his intention to retreat and run to the only exit to block his path.

John looked at the Night Wolf in front of him as he thought about what to do.

“Should I destroy that talisman now?” He took out the talisman and held it in his hand for a moment before keeping it once more.

“No, I can only use this as a last resort. As soon as I destroyed it, my adventure ended and I had to go home. I'll see if I can fight to get out of here, maybe the wolves won't leave the cave if I reach the exit. ”

John hurriedly took out his blue greatsword and placed it in front of his body. Taking a deep breath, John took the most defensive position he knew and prepared for the Wolf attack.

Realizing that John dared to challenge him, the Wolf howled furiously once more before sprinting quickly towards him.

John barely had time to react before the wolf was right in front of him, its huge claws swinging strongly towards him. Based on his fight with the Dark Spotted Panther, John knew that he could not block this attack directly without sustaining serious damage.

Just as the giant leg was about to hit his body, John turned his shoulders to the side and raised his greatsword. The claw made a fleeting attack on John's sword as it barely missed him severely.

As the wolf lunged past him, John raised his other hand and punched out with all his strength. The wolf was repulsed slightly, but other than that there was no damage. John felt his hand tremble slightly in pain from the punch.

“How tough” curses John as he quickly runs backwards, narrowly avoiding further attacks from wolves.

After dodging the attack, John used a slight gap and dashed forward and swung his sword down with all his might.

“Peng!”

A metallic sound rang out as the wolf claws blocked John's sword easily. John was sent flying backwards, finally crashing into the cave wall. He lethargicly stood up and wiped the blood from his lips. He quickly looked up to see Night Wolf quickly approaching him, trying to deliver the final blow.

“Blowout!”

Loud explosions echoed throughout the cave as the wolf's foot struck the cave wall.

John had just dodged a powerful wolf attack at the very last moment. After dodging the wolf's foot attack, John lunged forward and slashed his sword towards the wolf with all his might.

“Abrow!”

The wolf roared furiously as a slightly deep wound opened at his side. He had never considered the human in front of him a threat, and because of his carelessness had been injured.

“Sial,” exclaimed John as he hurriedly retreated, avoiding the friction of the wolf claws.

“That was the best chance I would get, and all I could do was slightly injure the wolf” thought John as he hastily swung his sword again, blocking the continued attacks from the wolves.

“Gah!” John screamed in pain as he was thrown backwards tens of meters, crashing down several times. He finally stopped and rose to his feet as fast as he could, his legs trembling and blood covering his entire body. All of his bones felt like they were almost shattered, but he knew that the wolf would not give him time to recover. Gasping in pain, John stared at the rapidly approaching wolf.

“I think it's too much to wish I could fight this wolf. After all, nature jumping is basically impossible” thought John while taking out a small disk from his storage ring.

“It's like before” thought John while checking what's going on inside him.

John felt his blood boil and his energy rise, just as he was about to battle the Dark Spotted Panther one last time. A wild thought surfaced in John's mind as he stored the disc and raised his sword in front of him.

Gripping his sword as tightly as possible, John slashed with all his might as the wolf claw swept towards him.

“Peng!”

Another loud metallic sound rang out as his sword and claws collided. Unlike last time, however, John is not sent flying back in despair. John excitedly stared at his sword which managed to block the wolf legs. Pushing out with all his strength, John managed to force the wolf back a dozen yards.

Shocked by the sudden increase in strength, the wolf stared at John more carefully than before, not daring to attack immediately.

“Haha, come!” john shouted as he quickly ran towards the wolf. “I need to do something different this time.”

As he approached the wolf, John once again swung his sword down. The wolf raised its claws to block the sword, and after facing this attack earlier, placed more power in the counterattack.

Just as the sword and claw were about to collide, John hastily changed the trajectory of his sword attack, almost losing his claw. The wolf expects a full force attack from John, and therefore does not consider that John will carry out a deceptive attack. Since John didn't give much power to his initial swing, he was able to change the trajectory at the last moment, causing the wolf's leg to hit nothing but air.

“Blowout!”

John's sword struck the side of the wolf, carving a huge wound on its side. The wolf howled in pain as it quickly turned around, sending huge claws towards John. John hurriedly blocked his legs and was thrown backwards tens of meters, his blood flowing into his body.

Although John managed to keep his balance, he was still shaken by blocking the attack. Coughing out a bit of blood, John wiped the blood on his chin as he stared at the wolf.

“It was my strongest attack, and all I managed to do was hurt him. I won't be able to kill him if I keep this up.” John looked at the wolf as he considered his options before his eyes widened in shock and fear.

“What happened?” said John.

He suddenly felt all the energy in his body quickly go away. Waves of immense fatigue began to sweep over him as John felt waves of energy slowly start to leave his body.

John was worried about his sudden predicament when he suddenly looked up to see a huge claw sweeping his head.

“Gah!”

John screamed in pain as he was sent flying backwards by the attack. Although he managed to block the attack at the very last moment, his hasty defense was not enough to prevent damage.

John fell over a few times before stopping. After struggling for a few seconds, John stood up as fast as he could. He looked up to see the wolf once again running towards him, wanting to end the fight.

“What can I do? I felt as if I only had enough energy for one more attack before I fainted. Either I destroy the talisman or I attack, but my last full force attack is not strong enough to kill it”

John's mind was racing as he desperately thought of something to turn the tide of this battle. His eyes suddenly brightened as he thought of something.

Watching the wolf approach, John feigned weakness, acting as if he could barely stand up. Seeing his prey on its last legs, the wolf prepared to exert all its strength on its final blow.

“Blowout!” The huge cave shook as the wolf claws violently struck the ground, shaking the earth and creating a small crater. The wolf did not expect its prey to be able to move quickly, and therefore attacked with all its might to deliver the final blow.

The Night Wolf looked to the side but saw nothing. Suddenly he looked up, where he saw a human above him, lunging down with a pitch-black weapon in hand.

After dodging sideways at the last possible moment, John leapt high into the air above the wolf. Getting rid of his greatsword, John took out his scythe from his storage ring as he fell towards the beast. His arm muscles tensed with all their might as John could barely control the trajectory of the sickle. He swung the scythe every remaining energy he had. If this attack failed, he did not know if he would have enough energy to take out his spatial talisman and destroy it.

“Roar”

The wolf howled furiously as it raised its claws to block the attack, but after exerting all its strength to the previous attack, it was only a moment too slow to recover in time.

“Slicing!”

John violently hit the ground and fell down several times. With his last remaining strength, John slightly raised his head to look back.

John stared at the beast for a moment before darkness swept over him.

A pair of eyes slowly opened.
