Chapter 124: 124
The big Drake quickly approached John, and nearly approached him in no time. A scythe suddenly appeared in John's hand as he stared at the beast. He knew he was absolutely no match for her, but he would not die without at least trying to fight back.
He was just about to unleash his supreme battle art when he heard a loud shout.
“Naya, stop!”
That Drake, who was only twenty meters away from John suddenly stopped, startling him. John quickly turned his head to see two people approaching him. They were two middle-aged men, and both of them were wearing gray robes, making it impossible for him to identify them.
With just a few steps, the two unidentified men crossed a distance of a mile and appeared in front of him before he could react.
‘So fast ..’
John's never seen anyone move this fast before. They were even faster than his father, who was a Core Formation expert.
As the two men appeared in front of him, drake obediently walked over and stood behind them, acting as a loyal guard.
‘They control such a powerful beast? Who are these people?’
“Who are you? How can you be in this forbidden zone?”
While thinking about their identities, one of the men spoke up and asked John who he was.
‘What should I say to them? I still don't know where I am or who they are, so the less I tell them, the better.’
John put away his scythe and spoke to the two men in a humble and slightly timid tone.
“My name is John. As for how I ended up here, I don't know the answer. I was kidnapped recently and passed out, and I just woke up now.”
Although it was a thin story, John was convinced that they had no way of denying this. However, he did not know if they would care if he accidentally ended up here or not. Based on their hard questions and calling it a forbidden zone, John was convinced that no one should be here.
“Abducted and abandoned here? How can we believe such a lie?” the man spoke in a tone of disbelief.
“Look at me, and how strong I am. Just this drake of yours is enough to kill me a hundredfold in an instant. How can I get in here alone?”
Although he was not sure exactly where he was, just based on the strength of these two men, John was confident that he would not be able to reach this land with his own strength. The two men had yet to release their auras, and John would not be rude and use his common sense to examine them, so he was still unsure of how high their cultivation was.
But at the very least, he knew that they were Core Formations at least.
While John was thinking this, one of the men powerfully released his aura and spread his heavenly senses to the nearby expanse of land, clearly searching for the other hidden party.
‘Forging Meridians, and at the peak as well!’
‘Obviously I'm not near home anymore. I want to know where I am?’
“Truly no one else is here. Maybe your story is the truth. But regardless of whether it is true or not, this is a forbidden area, and you are not allowed to be here. We'll get you out of here.”
Whether the man believed it or not, John's strength was far below his attention, and the man did not care about anything he could achieve with his strength. He was clearly not strong enough to reach this land alone, but no other party was in sight.
“I understand. As I said, I was kidnapped recently, and I just want to go home,” John replied in a humble tone, making himself seem embarrassed to sell the story.
“Mhm, go up,” command that guard while jumping onto drake's back.
“Good!” exclaiming John. He had never rode a flying beast before, and was somewhat hesitant, especially one as powerful as a drake, but it seemed that the man had given him no other choice.
“OK,” John replied with a nod of his head as he walked to the drake and climbed it. The beast's body emitted an extremely powerful aura the moment John touched it, and he was surprised to find that it was also at the peak of the Meridian Forging.
‘What is this place? How is everyone so strong?’
“Naya, fly,” command the man, and drake quickly spread his wings and flew into the sky.
‘Wow, this is amazing,’
John saw the ground quickly grow further in his vision. The wind hit his long hair as the drake streaked across the sky, exposing the entire land beneath. The sparsely forested land outside the energy vortex expanded to tens of miles, and powerful ferocious beasts similar to drakes were seen roaming the ground, giving off an extremely excited but dangerous feeling.
In the distance, vast mountains jutted high into the sky. As they approached, John began to look at the large palaces that adorned the mountainside. Thousands of large palaces, temples, and other buildings immediately appeared in his vision, and covered an area of tens of miles in each direction along the forested mountains. Many towering waterfalls fell on the rocks below, causing the mountains to be shrouded in a thin but permanent mist. The sunlight pierced through the mist, giving the area an extremely smooth glow.
Tens of thousands of people are seen running their businesses on the streets below. Rainbows weaved through the mist, and many powerful flying mounts were seen flying all over the area, making it seem like an eternal paradise. An enormous blue and white palace loomed over the rest at the very center, and the palace was so tall that it seemed to pierce through the clouds high above.
John stared in awe at the sight, and the man next to him realized his shock, but said nothing. The scene overwhelmed him, and John couldn't help but ask the man about it.
“I've never seen such a place in my life... Where are we?”.
The man was a little unprepared for John's question. Everyone in the entire country should know this place, even if they did not know how they could be in it, but he still replied. A small tinge of pride hung on his face as he spoke.
“This ... is the foundation of the Heavenly Lightning Sect!”
