Chapter 122: 122
A multi-colored light channel suddenly entered John's vision. The channel was about ten feet wide, and he found himself being pushed past it at incredible speed. The channel's translucent barrier revealed a chaotic space storm on the other side, a force that left him cold all the way to his bones.
‘If I was ejected into that chaotic space, my body would become void in an instant.hopefully that is not the case.’
John continued to be pushed through the channel for almost a minute, and was surprised to find that it did not make him feel any pain, just a slight discomfort. However, the continuous falling started to make him nauseous. It seems like gravity is not inside this channel.
“I want to know where this channel is taking me. Hopefully not too far from home,” grumbled John. He was still quite upset about how he was treated by Celestial Soulrend in the end. He had found it as a suitable successor, and Celestial Soulrend was still throwing it into this channel.
However, when John thought back to how Soulrend seemed to be fighting against the whirlpool above, he thought Soulrend was really telling the truth. With his soul on the verge of collapse, he did not have the strength to send the two of them out through the whirlpool, which was extremely powerful above the temple.
‘I want to know how long this channel lasts-..’
John's mind was quickly severed as he found himself swiftly ejected from the spatial channel. The sunlight once again warmed his face as John found himself being pushed forward violently. He fell head on healing on the hard ground for nearly half a mile before his body finally stopped. His bones felt like they were almost crushed, and he was sure he would be half dead if not for his strong body.
“Okay, what the hell? Can't it be a little softer?” John grumbled while massaging his aching head.
After calming down, John stood up and looked around to see if he could see anything familiar, but the scenery around him was completely unfamiliar. He stood on a vast meadow and flowers, with towering trees sporadically adorning the landscape. Their canopies spread high and wide, making the field feel very lively and lively. The majestic mountains, bigger than he had ever seen in his life towered into the sky in the distance.
John turned around, and saw that behind him, from where he had just been ejected, was a huge energy vortex that was almost identical to the one in the pocket realm. However, he knew that this whirlpool was slowly losing its power.
John took a deep breath, and was surprised to find that the Qi density in this place was extremely high. It was as high as pocket nature, and much higher than at home.
“It seems this is not the Yuan Continent I know and call home. I have to find out where I am,” John murmured to himself as he looked around to make sure the beach was clean.
Roars!
An extremely loud roar that almost destroyed his eardrum boomed. John felt his body groan in pain just because of the sound of an animal's roar.
He quickly turned his head to the source of the voice, and was horrified to find a powerful ferocious beast sitting on one of the top branches of a tree nearby. Although the beast was nearly half a mile away, its roar had caused severe damage to its body. His cultivation level was higher than any beast he had ever seen, and far surpassed his ability to fight.
“Atail drake? Isn't that supposed to be a myth?”
John was surprised to find the source of the roar was a drake. He had seen the image of this beast in his library, although the book said nothing had been in the surrounding land for thousands of years.
…
“Portal is showing signs of collapsing, they are going out,” one of the elders of the Varis Clan said loudly. His harsh words aroused the attention of everyone in the ancestral building.
“Yes! But isn't it too early? They should have two more weeks inside,” said Cade Fenix, a little confused. Each opening of the pocket realm lasted exactly three months, without exception. However, this one closed faster than expected.
“True, I want to know what happened,” replied Waylon Varis, equally curious why this happened.
Discussions began to heat up inside the ancestral building, and before long, the silhouettes of twenty-seven people began to appear in front of the portal.
“Twenty-five? Looks like five have died inside,” call an elder. Thirty entered, while only twenty-seven were sent. Obviously, some have died.
“It looks like several died this time as well. Let's just hope it's from trials and not fighting each other like last time,” said another.
If Lima who was killed was really caused by a showdown, then it would be a big problem, similar to the last time.
A few seconds later, all of the twenty-five bodies actually came into existence, revealing their respective identities. The identity revealed that the five missing people were one Fog Creation junior from the Ronan Clan, one Fog Creation junior from the Flowing River Sect, two from the Crimson Valley Sect, and John himself.
Waylon Varis's eyes turned sharp, while Barden and Cade's faces turned pale. They quickly identify that John is one of the missing parties. Barden's pale face immediately turned red as his anger began to grow, and he was about to explode when Waylon quickly stepped forward.
Strong pressure dropped on the junior group, and a resolute voice soon followed.
“We lost five juniors. Tell me, what happened to them,” Waylon spoke in a high voice.
