Chapter 15: 15

“As the elder said, it is a language I am not familiar with. It was so useless to me” thought John as he reached out to return the page. His hand stopped in the middle of the shelf before returning to his side.

“Well, if no one has used it for hundreds of years, it is useless to sit here collecting dust. I'll keep it for now. Who knows, maybe I was lucky enough to meet someone who can read this language.”

John placed both techniques in his storage ring before walking to the section containing the movement technique. Since his fight with the Panther, John realized the importance of having good movement techniques.

John spent the next hour reading all the different movement technique descriptions before deciding to choose “Five Step” Movement Technique. As the name suggests, the technique revolves around taking five steps, with each step built from before resulting in an ever increasing speed. It was effective for fighting and running.

“These techniques should have kept me alive in the Mist Creation realm. I think I'm quite ready to go” John thought as he put back the remaining books before walking past the elder.

“Which technique did you choose?” ask the old man curiously.

“Mountain Crusher Sword and Five Step” Movement Technique John replied.

“Both are very good choices. Among the Mist Creation realm techniques, both are top” level techniques replied the elder. John talked more with the older man before thanking him and walking back down. On the first floor of the library, John took a map of the surrounding area before leaving.

After leaving the library, John walked back to his house because it was already night. He greeted his parents when he returned home before heading to his room and falling into bed.

The next morning, John woke up and prepared for the day.

“I have to take a shower before I go out. Who knows how much longer before I have another chance to clean up”, John thought as he walked into his bathroom. After cleaning himself, John walked into his wardrobe. He put on his black robe and stored the rest of his black robe in his storage ring.

“Luckily I have a lot of these robes. I will be able to replace it quite often” John thought as he turned around and left his room. Arriving in the kitchen a minute later, John was greeted with a full meal on the kitchen table.

“What is this?” john asked when he saw his mother standing there smiling.

“Well, this is the last meal I can cook for you for a while, so I decided to try my hardest. That, and you will need extra energy on your way forward,” replied Rachel Fenix.

“Oh. Thank you mom” John replied with a smile as he sat down and started eating. Barden walked a few minutes later and sat down as well, joining John to eat the food in front of them. The three of them ate for quite a while before finishing their meal.

“Wah, I'm full. It's delicious,” said John loudly while proudly patting his protruding belly.

Rachel smiled looking at the expression of her son's contents before a serious expression appeared on her face.

“John, you have to be careful. If any problems arise,

“I will. Don't worry, I'll be very careful on this trip, so you don't have to worry too much” replied John.

John stood up from his chair and walked over to his parents, hugging the two of them tightly before parting ways. “I'll be back before pocket realm opens,” says John.

“Good. I hope no less than you come back and surprise us both” replied Barden with a proud expression on his face.

After hugging his parents once more, John turned around and left his home.

“I hope she's okay,” Rachel said as she watched her son walk out of the house.

John left the mansion and walked to the main street of the clan. He passed through hundreds of other people before finally arriving in front of the clan gate.

“Go hunt wild animals again young master?” ask one of the guards as John approaches.

“Something like that” replied John with a smile as he continued walking through the clan gate.

After walking through the clan gate, John stepped to the side of the busy road and took out the map he had collected earlier.

“Let's see what we've got here.”

The Skycleave Mountains are vast mountains that stretch thousands of miles from east to west. The Fenix clan was located around the midpoint of the mountains, on the north side. At the eastern end of the mountain range, the Skycleave mountain range finally branched out and moved from north to south for thousands of miles as well.

“Klan Varis is a few hundred miles west of here, while the Flowing River Sect and the Crimson Valley Sect are across from us in the south of the mountains. I don't want to go to the Crimson Valley Sect, and I I've been to the Varis Clan, so I guess I'll follow the mountains to the east “ John thought while studying the map.

To the east of the Fenix Clan were various sects, clans, and other small kingdoms.

“The Dreadel Kingdom is located about a thousand miles northeast of here it seems. I've heard quite a lot about him, and I'm sure it's on the same level of status as our clan. I guess I'll start my journey by heading there “ thought John while keeping that map.

“To get to the Dreadel Kingdom from here, I can take the main road that leads to it, but it will be too safe. No beast dared to stray onto the main road, so I guess I will travel through the Skycleave Forest south of the main road. Although I shouldn't have strayed too far from the road or I would have met a beast that was stronger than I could handle. ”

John shuddered slightly as he recounted his experience with Dark Spotted Panther.

On both sides of the Skycleave mountain range, the Skycleave Forest spanned thousands of miles as well. Every sect and clan in the surrounding area was technically located within the Skycleave Forest.

Getting rid of the map, John stepped back onto the main road and began walking north. About an hour later, John came to the same corner as last time. Instead of stepping into the forest in the west, John followed a branch of the road that led northeast away from the Skycleave Mountains.

“This road to the east finally leads to the Dreadel Kingdom. I will follow him for a while before stepping into the forest. The trip will take about a month on foot.” thought John as he took his way east.

John followed the road to the northeast for a full day before coming to town at sunset. The city has several dozen large buildings and hundreds of houses dotting the open landscape on both sides of the street. A great wall surrounded the city.

“I'll stay here for tonight and then go to the forest tomorrow” thought John as he walked to the small town. After paying two copper admission tickets to the guards at the front gate, John found one of the town inns and walked in. The main floor of the inn was bustling with activity, as dozens of people were seen eating, drinking and laughing.

“Sorry, how much is one room price for one night?” john asked as he approached the Inn Owner.

The innkeeper looked up and was a little surprised to see a boy alone. “Twenty-five copper for one night” replied the innkeeper.

John took twenty-five coppers and gave them to the Innkeeper. The innkeeper took the money before taking John to his room on the second floor. The room is quite small with only one bed and a wardrobe inside.

John looked around the room slightly before sitting on the ground. Gathering his focus to feel the Qi around him in the air, John slipped into a trance state. After learning the clan cultivation technique earlier, John started cultivating according to his principles.

“Feel Qi. Pull it onto my body. Pull it into my body.” thought John while repeating the steps his father had taught him. A few hours later, John slowly opened his eyes.
