Chapter 25: 25
John took out the Five-Step Movement Technique book, opened it to the first page, and read the book over and over again for several hours.
“Said to drive the Qi of my Dantian in five stages through my meridians towards my feet. The first stage targets the acupoints of the feet, allowing short but rapid bursts of speed. Each successive wave of Qi is sent higher and higher up the leg, eventually leading to the upper leg acupoints. Each successive wave also builds up the momentum and energy of the previous wave, resulting in an ever-increasing speed and distance traveled by each step. ”
John practiced sending his Qi through the path described in the technique. Half a day later, John finally managed to guide Qi to the first step.
“Ah!”
John shot straight ahead, unprepared for the sudden increase in speed. He tripped on his own feet and fell to the ground.
“Ouch!
John rubbed his aching head and once again took the correct position and began to direct Qi through his legs. Based on his recent success, John was able to guide his Qi properly once again.
In a second, John ran forward a dozen yards and managed to keep the balance this time around.
“Wow, fast! And that's just the first step. Let's try step two.”
John once again prepared to use this technique, and directed his Qi through the meridians of his feet. As soon as his Qi exploded, John found himself thrust forward. Focusing on the second step, John followed it by guiding his Qi which was described at the second stage.
“Ahh!”
Unable to guide Qi properly in time, John came to a halt as he stumbled upon himself.
“It's very difficult. Not only do I have to complete the first stage correctly, the second stage is more difficult to guide and also has to be done faster than the first stage. It will take a long time to master!”
John continued to practice the Five-Step Movement technique for the next two days. After two days of non-stop practice, John managed to apply the first two steps. However, the Qi requirements for quantity and control were too much for him to perform the third to fifth step. Moreover, carrying out the second step depleted a large amount of his Qi reserves.
“The first two steps are already this fast. I can't wait to take the remaining steps. Who knows how fast I can move back then” thought John while pulling out a piece of meat and biting it. . After eating until full, John stored all his belongings into the palace storage area.
“I think it's time to get out. I've been in this cave for almost a week. Compared to the time I entered this cave, it feels like I have become a completely different person.”
When John entered the cave, he was still at the Blood Refining realm. Now, John was not only a Fog Creation realm cultivator, but he had two danties in that realm as well as a set of techniques that had been learned.
John decided to leave the Mist Essence Sunflower. Although it was quite rare and precious, it was only useful to him in the Blood Refinement realm. If he plucked it, after all it would lose most of its value, so there wasn't much reason to do so.
“Thank you for your help,” John said on the flowers before exiting the cave. A few minutes later, John came out of the cave and breathed fresh air.
“It feels good to be back outside” exclaimed John while looking around.
“I guess with the increase in my strength, I can start venturing deeper into the Skycleave Forest. So far this journey has been incredible for my strength. I can only imagine what else is waiting for me” John said with a smile on his face .
He looked around for a moment before choosing a direction and walking forward.
“This spirit should lead to an area where monsters with more Mist Creation levels. I can't wait to test my new strength.”
A few days passed.
John ventured deeper into the Forest of the Skycleave. He had fought several Blood Refinement level monsters, but had yet to see a Mist Condensation level monster.
“Blowout!”
A loud explosion resounded throughout the forest.
“What sound is it?”
John started speeding towards the sound of a loud explosion.
“Blowout!” “Blowout!”
Several louder explosions echoed before John finally found a way to hear the sound.
“Two of them!”
A few hundred yards ahead of John were two early Mist Creation level monsters staring at each other. Dozens of nearby trees were cut down, a testament to the fighting strength.
“Titan Ape and Night Wolf! Looks like the Titan Monkey won. By the way, what do Night Wolves do outside during the day?”
Seeing that battle, John could clearly see some deep wounds on Night Wolf. On the other hand, the Titan Ape was relatively unharmed.
“Abrow!”
The ape roared in pain, but quickly recovered and used his other arm to grab and catch the wolf. The Night Wolf is a hair that is too slow to back down because its neck is captured by apes.
“Interests!”
A loud clashing sound rang out as the ape fiercely slammed the wolf into the ground, breaking its neck.
“Truly battle!” exclaiming John. “This Titan Monkey managed to kill the Night Wolf with relative ease.”
A little tired from the battle, the Titan Ape sat near the corpse of the wolf and tore its legs apart and started chewing on it. John stared at Titan Ape for a while while eating. It was over ten feet tall and had prominent muscles in all of its limbs. After a while, John jumped off a tree branch.
“Sorry to interrupt your eating!”
Titan Ape was enjoying his battle spoils when he heard something behind him. He turned around and saw a little man approaching him.
“Abrow!”
The Titan Monkey is furious that its food will be interrupted, even more so by a small human. It quickly turned around and charged towards John, the ground shaking under each step.
“This is my first battle in the Mist Creation realm, please don't disappoint me” shouted John to Titan Ape while running forward as well before punching.
“Gah!”
John was sent flying back tens of meters after the fist and the ape collided. After rolling some distance, John quickly got up and wiped the dirt off his face. His arms were trembling in pain due to the force of the collision.
“I think I'm thinking too much about myself if I think I can still fight Titan Monkey with my bare hands.”
Although John had started cultivating the art of the Immortal Asura Body, he had just started and was barely even considered a body cultivator.
Standing steadily, John pulled out his big blue sword.
“Let's see how strong you really are!” john shouted as he ran towards the attacking beast. After winning the previous exchange, the Titan Ape became overconfident and charged at John without hesitation before punching.
Just as the first one was about to connect with his body, John knelt under the attack and slashed down with his sword.
“Slicing!”
An open wound on the Titan Apes' right leg as John glides past it. The ape screamed in pain as it quickly turned around and sent a fist towards John.
The sword and fist collided as John was thrown several feet away. Another wound had opened in the ape's hand from where the sword had collided. The ape now realized that the enemy in front of him posed a deadly danger.
“I need to get used to using Qi effectively in battle. I will use this Titan Ape as a grindstone” thought John while once again running towards the ape.
The battle lasted for almost an hour before the Titan Ape finally collapsed.
“It looks like it's time to end this!” john said breathlessly before he dashed forward. As expected, the ape sent out one last desperate attack as John approached. Learning from his mistake last time, John is fully prepared and dodges his fist before jumping towards the ape's head.
The sound of the head hitting the ground rang out as John landed back on the ground. Gasping for breath due to his long fight, John walked over to the ape's body and stored it before sitting on the ground.
“Fieh! It was a pretty heavy battle. The monkey actually forced me to use the Mountain Destruction Sword several times.”
John sat on the ground and regulated his breathing after a few minutes.
“At least I know now that I can fight beasts in the same realm as me, and even suppress them! I wonder if dad would be surprised if he knew.”
It is common knowledge that in the same realm, animals are usually more powerful than humans. Most cultivators would escape if they saw a ferocious beast in the same realm. Although they might be able to defeat the beast, the risk of death was too high to justify the cost. Only a battle fanatic like John would eagerly search for an enemy like he had just done.
Moments later, John got up and walked further into the forest. He set up camp when night fell, making sure to activate the perimeter warning disk. After arranging everything, John took out the head of the Titan Ape.
He sliced open between his eyes and extracted his blood essence before guiding the blood in and through it according to the principles of the Eternal Aura Body. The blood essence entered the sphere, where a portion of the energy was sent back as nourishing Qi. John guides this energy through the various meridians depicted in the diagram, allowing it to enter the various parts of his body.
The process continued for a few minutes before John opened his eyes. He clenched his fists, feeling a strength slightly greater than before. After John finished absorbing the Titan Ape Blood Essence, he took out a piece of Celestial Lightning Script jade and studied it for several hours. He did the same for the Mountain Shattering Sword and Five-Step Movement Technique, ensuring that no aspect of his cultivation was lacking.
It was late before John finished his cultivation. Getting rid of everything, John ate some of his leftover meat before falling asleep.
