CHAPTER 63: 63

Chapter 63: 63

The next morning, John got up and took a bath, before putting on his trademark black robe. He looked at himself in the mirror, and realized that his face had matured a little since the last time he actually looked at himself. His long black hair grew longer, and his face became slightly less mature.

“I think I'll be fifteen soon, just a few weeks away. Time really passes by quickly.”

John noticed that although his face was filled with the innocence of his previous youth, now his face was slightly hardened.

“I think my journey has not only increased my cultivation level.”

John finished preparing his belongings for the trip before he went downstairs to have breakfast with his family. After a nice breakfast, John and his father bid Rachel farewell before leaving their home.

While walking towards the meeting point for all those attending the tournament, John turned to his father.

“Dad, I guess I haven't inquired about this, but where is the tournament held?”

Barden looked at John and smiled. “Pocket realm tournaments rotate among the five forces involved each time they are opened. This year, the Varis Clan is hosting the tournament, so the tournament will take place within their clan.”

‘I think it makes sense. I have always wondered why we have so many martial arenas in the clan. I guess it was for the time when our clan organized a pocket world tournament.

Barden spoke up again. “Klan Varis is a few hundred miles away, but with our carriage pulled by the Qi Condensation monster, we will arrive there in less than two days.”

John nodded his head as he followed his father in silence. Fifteen minutes later, John sees a large group of people, trains, and animals. There were over a dozen carriages, each one connected to the Qi Condensation Ethyr Horse. Ethyr Horses are deep blue, and are renowned for their strength and speed, making them the perfect animal to pull a heavy train.

John sees many familiar faces standing in the crowd, including Ryan, Parker, and,

John walked up to Ryan and held hands with him.

“Ryan, are you ready for this tournament?”

“Of course. I've made considerable progress since the last time we fought, and will do my best to become the top thirty. How're you? Still confident to win the tournament?”

John was just about to respond when he heard a voice from behind him.

“You? Winning the tournament, you are only in the middle of the Fog Creation Realm. In vain we even invite you.” John saw the person who spoke was one of Ryan's friends, and was at the Mist Creation Realm. She was fifteen years old, and had a pretty ugly face that caused her to demean others when she could make herself feel better.

Another boy chimed in. “True. Someone who really doesn't know where they stand.”

John was just about to speak when Ryan suddenly spoke up. “What the hell do you know? Besides, the last time we had a fight, I kicked your ass so hard that you were bedridden for two days. Worry about yourself in this tournament.”

John began to laugh out loud, quite enlivened by Ryan's comments.

The boy who first spoke up looked like he had just swallowed a frog. He tried to think of something to reply to, but was unable to find anything. Ryan had actually beaten her so badly the last time they had a fight. In the end, he just scoffed and turned around and decided not to say anything.

Parker Fenix stood a little further to the side, but managed to hear everything. He looked towards Ryan and John with narrowed eyes, but said nothing. Although his tournament had taken place a few weeks earlier, Parker followed the recommendations of his father, Orenn Fenix. Parker was the Fenix Clan's brightest star, and his presence in the tournament was important, even if it was just for show.

John waited for about thirty minutes, conversing with Ryan and his father before a loud voice boomed behind him.

“Excellent views, to see all the promising young men of our clan who will set out towards the glory of the clan and themselves.”

John turned around and saw his grandfather, Cade Fenix, the leader of the Fenix Clan clan.

Cade walked towards the large group of people and looked around at everyone, his eyes pausing on John before once again speaking.

“We will now depart for the Varis Clan for the Fog Creation Realm Tournament. Parker Fenix has brought glory to our clan with his performance in the Qi Condensation tournament. I hope you all do your best and bring further glory to our clan.”

Upon hearing the praise piling on him, a wide and confident smile appeared on Parker's face. John looked towards Parker, where a determined look appeared in his eyes.

Cade Fenix once again spoke up. “We will be leaving for the tournament soon, and with our talented lads here, I am sure we will win. Everyone, do your best.”

Loud cheers erupted among the crowd as everyone shouted in unison.

John turned to Ryan and patted him on the shoulder before turning around and following his father to their carriage. John came in after his father and sat down. The carriage immediately started moving as the beast was pushed forward by the responsible driver.

John looked out the window as the Fenix Clan base flew, before the carriage finally left the clan wall. The Skycleave Mountains were visible in the distance as the train drove down the road towards the Varis Clan.

John was deep in thought when he was suddenly struck by a question from Barden.

“So, how well do you think you will do in this tournament?”

A confident smile appeared on John's face as he replied. “Thank you for your help with the Supreme Art of Combat, I will definitely win!”
