Chapter 136: 136
As one of the Elders of the Fenix Clan, Barden Fenix sat there in a fainting state. He had been completely dead inside since John died in pocket realm, and the words that had just filled the hall looked like a dream.
Silence filled the meeting hall of the Fenix Clan for a short time before the room exploded into an uproar.
“How is this possible?” one of the Elders asked loudly.
“Who is that woman? And how do we know he's telling the truth?”
“True, he could be a spy, or have other purpose.”
“John wasn't transported out of pocket world with someone else, how could he still be alive.”
Many opinions about what just happened were spoken out loud. Many Elders questioned whether the information was trustworthy.
“Sunnyness.”
A soft yet powerful voice filled the hall, causing each Elder to stop speaking. The Elders all looked towards the shadowy figure sitting behind Cade Fenix. The figure stood up and stepped into the light, exposing its face to everyone in the hall. He was quite old, with a long gray beard and white hair. His body exuded a powerful aura.
“That woman is not a spy. If he wants, he can kill us all here without us being able to fight.”
Every Elder was shocked to hear these words, but as they recalled the mysterious person, they began to believe the woman's words.
“Patriark, who is that woman?” An Elder asked.
“I don't know, because he's blocking my heavenly senses from examining him. Only those in the Heaven Tribulation Realm can do it,” replied the Patriarch.
“Nature of Heaven's Tribulation!” many Elders exclaimed in shock.
“How is it possible, the peak strength of this region only has Meridian Forging experts. The only place that had a Heaven Tribulation expert was.” the Elder's words came to a halt as he thought of a terrifying possibility.
“You're right. The only place with a Heaven Tribulation expert, is the Holy Land,” the Patriarch confirmed.
The Patriarch's words once again shocked the Elders. They very rarely heard mention of Heaven Tribulation experts from the Holy Land, let alone meeting them face to face. Even though the Fenix Clan was a peak power around thousands of miles away, they knew they were no match for the mighty cultivators of the Holy Land.
A boisterous commotion once again filled the hall as the Elders began to discuss this news, before the Patriarch silenced them once more.
“As I said, his strength is something we cannot match, and if he comes here with bad intentions, we will not live now. It can only mean that his words are true.John is still alive.”.
Barden's eyes began to glaze over as he listened to the Patriarch, his grandfather, say these words. He wouldn't believe it came from someone else's mouth, but Barden knew his grandfather had worldly experience and wouldn't talk about things like this unless he was sure.
“John is alive!” Barden shouted with a loud shout, venting his emotions that had welled up inside him. The nearest elder congratulated Barden on the good news. Cade's eyes also became slightly reddened to hear that his grandson had survived.
After some time of celebration, the Patriarch once again silenced the hall.
“This news most likely means that John is in the Holy Land, and someone important has noticed him. Otherwise, they would not waste time asking about him here.”
“Patriark,” one Elder calls. “How could he be in the Holy Land. The last news we got about him is he fell in pocket nature.”
The patriarch shook his head and replied. “I'm not entirely sure, but the evidence points to the fact that John is in the Holy Land. Pocket nature is a mysterious place beyond our understanding, and such a thing cannot be ruled out. This is a great thing for now, as his cultivation should soar on that land, as long as he does not perish.”
The Elder’s started once again discussing this news,
The patriarch paused for a moment before turning to his grandson, Orenn Fenix; the father of Parker.
“Orenn. Your son gave us a story about how he saw John fall to the brink of his death, but John is still alive. While Parker's story has not proved wrong with John still alive, as he somehow survived such a fall, I still have to ask you..How loyal is your son to our Fenix Clan?”.
Orren Fenix paled a little at what the Patriarch suggested. He wanted to know if there was a chance Parker would betray them, and lie about his fate.
“Grandfather, I can assure you that my son Parker is one hundred percent faithful. He will die for our clan if necessary! I never questioned his loyalty to our clan.” Orren stated firmly. He had to convince his grandfather that his son was loyal, because he was sure his son would never betray them.
“I believe your son is also loyal. Everyone can go, I have a lot to think about. And one more thing, none of this information would be notified to anyone, even within the clan. Do I understand?”
All the Elders nodded their heads to understand, and the Patriarch waved his hand as a sign of dismissal. All the Elders lowered their heads before leaving, and before long, only Clan Leader Cade and the Patriarch remained.
Cade looked at the patriarch. “What do you think, dad?”
The patriarch thought for a moment before replying. “This is great news that John is still alive, and he seems to have found some strong people interested in his identity. You can go too.”
Cade Fenix nodded and started to step out of the room.
“One last thing,” Patriarch spoke when Cade was about to leave the room.
“Yes, dad?”
“Although I have no reason to suspect anything, something is not right with me. From now on, keep an eye on Parker, and report to me if anything suspicious happens.”
Cade Fenix narrowed his eyes at what his father was insinuating.
“It will be done.”
…
Back in the Heavenly Lightning Sect, John sat in his meditation room, pondering what to do next. He expected Elder Ragur to return soon, but it had been some time yet Elder had not returned.
“This Immortal Asura Transformation Art is amazing. Unlike battle arts, which can only be used one by one, these Transformation Arts can be used above the Supreme Battle Art, increasing my strength even further. Although I am sure the burden of my body will be great.”
Battle Arts used Qi to strengthen attacks, and Supreme Battle Art was no different. John would send Qi throughout his body according to battle arts, allowing his body to unleash extremely powerful attacks. The battle arts could only be used one by one, as the Qi used for two different battle arts used at the same time would clash, resulting in both being canceled and potentially causing internal damage.
However, the art of body transformation was different. The art of body transformation is transformation with the body itself, which absorbs Qi passively, instead of being used actively in attacks. Thus, battle arts and body transformation arts could be used at the same time, resulting in devastating power.
The only two drawbacks are that body transformation can only occur in bodies born with the natural ability to do so, as well as the transformation of the large loads imposed on the body. Moreover, cultivators with the bloodline of ancient beasts could also change if their talent was high enough, greatly increasing their strength.
John was initially surprised that the Eternal Asura Body allowed him to change, but his shock quickly faded away when he realized that the cultivation technique contained more secrets than he could have imagined.
“So far my body transformation is minimal, but maybe the stronger and clearer the stronger I am. Meanwhile, what should I do now that I have exhausted my blood essence reserve?”
John's mind filtered through his various legacies, before his eyes lit up.
“It's true. Now that I am in the Qi Condensation Realm, I can start training that essence battle art.”
An ancient courtyard made of some kind of animal skin appeared in his hand. John's eyes glanced at the ancient language at the top of the courtyard.
