Chapter 135: 135
Elder Ragur stared at John's blood-red eyes in a dumbfounded silence. He had noticed that John had been cultivating the past few days and hence had given him time to do so, but suddenly, a completely unknown and terrifying aura emanated out from John's room.
Elder Ragur rushed in to see if there were any intruders, but was astonished to see John sitting there peacefully cultivating. A terrifying aura emanated from John himself.
Elder Ragur felt like he was in the presence of a demon, and John's blood-red eyes seemed to be looking at him as if he was unworthy of being before him. Although the aura John emitted was barely strong enough to affect or scare the elder, its depth alarmed him.
“Older Ragur, what brought you here in such a hurry?”
John's eye color began to fade, and his eyes returned to normal. Elder Ragur stood there in silence for a while while trying to understand what had just happened.
“I came here because I feel a different aura from your aura.
The elder had some suspicions, and needed to ascertain which one was right. This is a matter that is too important to just leave it alone.
‘It seems that the Immortal Asura Body Transformation Art made him worry .. how should I reduce those worries?’
John thought for a moment before replying back to the elder.
“Older, as I mentioned to the previous Sect Leader, I have an Innate Variant Body. This transformation of my body is one of the powers it contains.”
John did not want to mention anything about the art of body transformation for two reasons. The first is that art is potentially used by others, which will trigger greed if they consider the art worth stealing or killing. The second was that it would raise the question of where he obtained such an incredible body transformation art.
By saying he naturally possessed this ability, although there might still be suspicions, no one could prove otherwise. Although this matter could still cause headaches, John's body transformation art was already exposed by now, so he couldn't deny his existence.
Although it only affected his eyes and aura, a knowledgeable person like Elder Ragur would know roughly what had happened.
“Begitukah .. Stay here for a while. I need to follow up something, at that time I'll come back for you and show you around sect.”
John nodded his head and saw Elder Ragur leave the room before returning to cultivating.
“It looks like this art may have caused some problems for me, but I am too weak to escape or do anything now. I will only continue to focus on cultivation for now.”
…
In the main palace of the Heavenly Lightning Sect, Elder Ragur quickly walked through the vast network of passageways before reaching the main hall where the Sect Leader was sitting, still reading through the various documents.
Elder Ragur walked past the large room and stopped right in front of the throne. His head was slightly lowered as he spoke.
“Csect Leader, I have some news to report about John.”
The Sect Leader looked up from his documents and stared as Elder Ragur with a slight smile on his face.
“She's pretty full of surprises, isn't she?” said the Sect Leader in an amused tone.
Elder Ragur's eyes widened slightly in shock, but quickly returned to normal.
“It looks like nothing has escaped your attention. Yeah, he's full of surprises. That's why I'm here. Looks like John's variant body has several..”.
Elder Ragur paused for a moment to find the right word to describe what he had felt.
“...devil nature, if I have to describe it accurately. Although I can't be completely sure, because it's just a fresh aura. Only time will tell what really happened.”
“I know what you think. Maybe he's a spy. However, you don't have to worry about him. I sent a voice transmission to Elder Mable early on the day John arrived to check out his story. He did some research and confirmed it was true. It seemed that the Fenix Clan had lost a young master named John recently, although they did not say how. Anyway, we don't have to worry about him. Just watch him for a while. “
Elder Ragur heaved a sigh of relief and nodded his head.
“It will be done.”
…
A few days ago.
The moon hung high in the sky above the Fenix Clan, and the gathering of the entire clan of Elders gathered in the forbidden hall of the clan.
Cade Fenix standing at the forefront spoke to the group, and a shadow figure sat behind him, his face obscured in the darkness.
Harsh arguments back and forth were being made by many of the Elders present. Cade Fenix raised his hand and silenced the group of Elders.
“Despite the reason, our investigation has concluded that the Crimson Valley Sect is really preparing to do something in the near future. We must prepare for war just in case it happens.”
Many heated discussions broke out once again, filling the hall with boisterous arguments. Cade Fenix was just about to call for silence once more, when suddenly, every Elder present felt a chill crawl over their spine.
Silence immediately descended on the room, and everyone immediately saw a shadowy figure standing in the corner of the room, their features obscured. Shock covered the faces of all present, as no one saw how this person entered the room without their notice.
Although the aura of the person was traced back, making them seem like ordinary humans, every Elder knew that the strength of this person surpassed anything they had felt before. Only the shadowy figure sitting behind Cade Fenix was largely unperturbed by the presence of newcomers.
The hall remained silent for a moment before the mysterious figure spoke up. A feminine voice immediately filled the room, but it contained a power that no one dared to look down on.
“I'm here to ask if this clan has a young master named John Fenix. If so, explain the features.”
Surprise covered every Elder's face after hearing John's name mentioned. It was still an extremely painful place for the clan, as they had lost their most promising young junior in the pocket realm. No Elder dared to speak up, so the shadowy figure behind Cade instead spoke up.
“We have, or do have John Fenix. She was fifteen years old, with long black hair and a varied body. He used a scythe as a weapon. However, he has just died, so I'm afraid you have come. here in vain.”
Although no one knew why the mysterious person was here, they clearly knew it had something to do with John, even though they did not know how it might be.
All the Elders stared at the shadowy figure, which immediately disappeared from their sight without them noticing.
One fading sentence of a feminine voice immediately filled the quiet room, shocking every Elder to the point.
“John Fenix is alive.”
