Chapter 138: 138
John narrowed his eyes as he listened to the words the boy had spoken to him. His breathing was heavier than usual, having just unleashed the Divine Reaping Scythe. That attack required far more Qi essence than he had expected.
“The attack was obviously not aimed at you, so why are you making such a fuss about it?” John replied in a short tone.
Clearly, this brat did not approach with good intentions from the start, and used this opportunity to make things difficult for John. He could tell that this boy was his age, but had a late cultivation in the Qi Condensation Realm.
However, John did not bother about this much. In fact, if the boy really wanted to fight, John would welcome him completely. He had recently increased his strength massively by advancing in his cultivation and battle arts prowess. Although he had never fought with two underage realms above his own, he was willing to test them.
John has not fought for a long time, and is eager to test his newfound strength. He had always been a battle demon, and he knew that his will to fight had increased even further after he had successfully developed the Eternal Asura Transformation Art. In fact, there seemed to be hot blood left that came from the previous transformation, making him look forward to battle.
Roy looked at John as if he was a fish on a cutting board. He wanted to take him down early, but John's lack of fear made him even more upset.
“You're not even wearing a student robe, so you're obviously just a worker. Yet you have the guts to talk to me like this?”
Roy laughed a little before his tone became colder.
“If you beg for forgiveness, I will release you. Otherwise, don't blame me for being too heavy.”
John looked at Roy directly with indifference. He did nothing to provoke this brat, and his attack on him was an accident, but he still acted like this. Many of the students who had walked stopped to watch the event, some looked amused while others looked worried on their faces.
‘Obviously there are bad apples in this sect as well. It may not be as harmonious as a sect as I imagined, but I will only know about it once I join. Regarding this person, it seems like words will not solve anything.’
John did not want to start a fight even before he became a disciple, but he would also not allow himself to be trampled on.
“If you want to fight, let's fight!”
The explosion!
A powerful aura suddenly burst out from John, mesmerizing Roy and a group of nearby disciples who stopped to watch the upcoming show. Many expected him to timidly retreat and apologize, due to the difference in strength and status. John punched the ground to charge forward, when suddenly a hand pressed against his shoulder.
The hand felt as heavy as a mountain to John, and he could not move at all, even with his powerful body. John turned his head to look at the new intruder in his battle, and his aura quickly faded.
“I left you alone for less than a day and you've been in a fight?” Elder Ragur stated while shaking his head, although his amused expression revealed that he was not angry.
“He wants to fight, so I will fight, as simple as that,” replied John indifferently. He is not to blame for this.
Elder Ragur struggled to keep his face straight, but eventually managed to do so. He had no idea how brave John was, but the fact that he was willing to fight someone two levels lower than him revealed his courage.
Elder Ragur nodded in agreement. “You have the right attitude for a cultivator, but unfortunately I can't let this fight happen on the page of the Enforcement Hall.”
Elder Ragur turned to Roy, who was standing there in silenced fear. He did not expect an Elder to come to the defense of this child, and knew that he would land in a world full of trouble.
“Roy, I happened to witness this whole ordeal. You should have set a better example as a sect disciple. Go to the Enforcement Wall and stare at it for three days.”
Roy paled at Elder Ragur's words, and wanted to argue, but the Elder's expression made him realize that there was no way out of this. His eyes were fixed on John nearby, and John could feel a great hostility from Roy.
‘Obviously it's not over, but I don't care. I will welcome his battle whenever he wants.’
Roy turned around without a word and headed towards a certain building. John had noticed his expression while mentioning the wall, and was curious about it.
Elder Ragur turned to John and examined him for a moment before replying. He had appeared the day before, but had noticed John trying to unleash the art of battle, and had been waiting in the shadows. The attack that John unleashed even shocked Elder Ragur, and he was unfamiliar with the crescent battle art being so powerful.
“This boy has many secrets,” Elder Ragur thought before answering John's question.
“Enforcing Wall is the wall where students are told to sit in front of them when they make a mistake. The wall was emitting a certain pressure, making it quite painful to sit in front of him. However, surviving in front of that wall would make people angry, so his training and punishment at the same time, although most disciples only saw it as a painful punishment.”
John nodded in understanding why Roy would not go there.
‘Murids of this sect may have lived a pampered life here in the holy land, so the pain for them was unacceptable even in the pursuit of strength. Very naive.’
‘Now, the Sect Leader allowed you to remain as a worker, but to be honest, we don't need any help in the Enforcement Hall right now, as we have an excellent staff. Also, as a worker, I cannot allow you to roam freely either, or take part in the lessons and train the disciples here do not … So what should we do with you for the next three months until the entrance exam?”
The truth of the matter was that Elder Ragur did not want to force John to do ordinary work, which was the only thing he could assign to the workers.
John thought about it for a moment before answering.
“Older, I've been very advanced in cultivation and battle arts, and I need to test my new strength and hone my fighting skills. Is there a place to do this?”
John wanted to see the full extent of his strength now, because even he himself did not know where it landed.
Elder Ragur thought about it for a moment.
“It was a good request. Building up your strength as much as possible before the entrance examination will definitely increase your chances of entering. Since you are not allowed to practice on sect grounds from now on.”.
Elder Ragur racked his brain for a moment before he thought of a suitable place for John to practice.
“There is a forest that covers a mountain expanse outside the official sect courtyard which we sometimes use for disciple training. But since it is technically outside the sect grounds, you can practice there. There are many Qi Condensation beasts.in the forest, making it the perfect battle ground to test your strength.”
John's eyes sparkled at the suggestion.
‘It's perfect. I can train my battle arts, as well as collect more beast blood essence.’
“It was perfect for me,” replied John, excited to leave soon.
