Chapter 140: 140
‘Secte Bloodfiend! One of the Four Great Sects. Fuck.’
John was disappointed to hear that the sect that helped the Crimson Valley Sect was the Bloodfiend Sect. They were on par with the Heavenly Lightning Sect, which meant their strength was something that he could not even approach in the near future.
Not only that, but it seemed like the Bloodfiend Sect was strong enough to prevent the other three Great Sects from acting against them, so it would not be easy to ask the help of the Heavenly Lightning Sect, either, even if he joined them. If it was a first-rate sect or lower, John was confident he would be able to use his future status as a disciple of the Heavenly Lightning Sect to hinder them, but the Bloodfiend Sect was the Great Sect instead.
‘This will be a big problem. The only way I can resolve this is to be strong enough to change the situation, or to be important enough for the Heavenly Lightning Sect that they are willing to offend the Bloodfiend Sect to me.’
John was convinced that the first was impossible. By the time he became strong enough to achieve such a result, the Crimson Valley Sect had most likely already destroyed his Clan. The only other option was to become so valuable to the Heavenly Lightning Sect that they would help him despite the consequences of doing so.
John thought about the possibility of joining the Bloodfiend Sect and persuading them to change their direction, but he quickly ignored it as impossible.
‘From the voice of the sect, and my relationship with Jason and Dylan, the Bloodfiend Sect is a brutal sect that puts their own interests above all else. Even if I join the sect and become important enough, I doubt they will change their plans. Not only that, but the greedy and evil sects will most likely target me as soon as they realize that I have some secrets that need to be revealed. Although I will be able to openly train my Immortal Asura Body blood cultivation, the risk is not worth it.’
Acquiring human blood essence to cultivate the Eternal Asura Body would most likely be much easier in such a place, but John was confident he would not thrive in such a place. Although he had good reason for many of his secrets, such a place might not care about his explanation and dig into the truth on its own. If they discover his secret, John is sure he will die a miserable death.
‘I can't believe those b*jing*n Crimson Valley sold themselves to the Bloodfiend Sect. They should be more than aware that they will only be swallowed whole once all this is done and done. Idiot.’
The two of them continued to travel behind the drake in silence. Elder Ragur could tell that John was thinking hard and looked quite serious, but he did not ask for an explanation. If John wants to confide in her, he can, but he won't force her.
The journey continued for a few more hours, before the drake slowly began to descend. John looked down at the ground below, and saw a vast mountain range covered by dense vegetation. The dense thicket of trees stretched hundreds of meters into the sky, and the loud roars of various beasts echoed throughout the forest, giving off a lively but dangerous feeling.
“There are many Qi Condensing Beasts in this forest, but do you not need to worry about Core Formation beasts. The Elders wiped out every beast that reached the level of strength, as this is the training ground for our Qi Condensation disciples. Currently not in use, so you should not expect to meet anyone at this time.”
John nodded his head and peered into the forest as the drake began to descend. After some time, he floated above the forest canopy, several hundred meters in the sky.
“Do you remember how we got here from the Sect?” Elder Ragur asked.
John nodded his head in confirmation. Although the journey had taken hours behind the drake, it was a relatively straight route back to the sect.
“Ya.”
“Good, because this is your stop.”
John frowned hearing the Elder's words.
“Surely you didn't mean for me to jump this high, right?”
John peeked out from the edge of the drake and into the ground several hundred meters below, before returning to the Elder.
“This is my punishment for trying to fight Roy, isn't it?” John asked, and Elder's thin smile at his words confirmed his suspicions.
“Isn't that too rough? I didn't start it.”
John tries to make his case, but fails. He looked down at the ground below once more.
‘
John walked to the edge of the drake back, and prepared to jump.
“Remember, the sect entrance examination begins exactly ninety-four days. Make sure you arrive at the front gate of the sect before then,” elder Ragur reminded John, causing him to frown once more. It seems like the Elder made it run by himself as well.
“You are too rude,” scolds John, but his answer is once again not heard.
“Well, I guess it will train itself, so I can't complain. I will be back then and there,” John confirmed to Elder.
Just before jumping, John spoke once more.
“Thank you for your help so far, Elder Ragur.”
John took a deep breath and jumped off the edge of the drake.
