73|Talk Honestly

His words made us look around us. There were a few people who filled the window of the restaurant that were focused towards us. The guests sitting by the window looked uncomfortable, but they could do nothing about it. All the tables away from the window were full.

“If you only eat three, you will be a gossip for days. But with me here, they must think we're friends. Amaryllis is here because she's my affair. Beres, ‘kan?” concluded Theo lightly.

“Why do you keep calling me your affair?” I don't like it.

“Because that's what they wrote about us,” the answer is relaxed. “Makanya, immediately tell your parents about Amarylis. Do not let Aunt Wibowo do reckless, then you act.”

“Mama will not be reckless,” said Kak Nolan, defending our mother.

“Did Richo never tell you what your mother could do to Amarylis? He slaps her every time you guys meet. Police have said there was no criminal element in the drowning of the two of them into the lake, but he continues to refer to Amarilis as the killer of his daughter,” Theo reported.

“Anger that is too long left buried, will someday explode. If that happens, you are the one I will demand, not Aunt Wibowo,” added Theo. “He will not die knowing the miracle that befell Amaryllis and Katelia. He would just be shocked and need some time to digest it. How long can a secret be kept?”

His statement has a point. But the circumstances of Mama did not allow to talk. Every time he saw me, he was angry. How do you talk to someone who is emotional? Not to mention Chika and her friends did not honestly tell about the unfortunate incident.

“Do you forbid Kat to speak honestly to our parents?” ask Brother Nolan to Brother Jericho. He's nodding. “Why?”

“I can't believe he's alive, brother, let alone in someone else's body. Do you think our parents will be able to accept it too? What about everyone who will know about this later? It could be that he will be used as a trial material,” replied Kak Jericho.

“Stupid basis!” asper Nolan. “You watch too many fantasy movies so your brain breaks down. Mama would have calmed down if she knew Kat was alive. Don't you see Mama's unhappy? All she thinks about is her dead daughter.”

“Try the Brother who did it if you can,” challenge Brother Jericho. “I how dare to tell Mama about Amarylis.”

“Already, already. We'll think about it later. Happy days need not be marred with unpleasant events, my lera”.

Brother Jericho took the watch to cool the atmosphere down. We could not go to a crowded and open place because the conditions were popular. His face always adorns all media thanks to the advertisements he stars in.

Theo refused to eat dinner with them and took me away from the place. Brother Nolan protested, but my boyfriend was indifferent to his call. He did not invite me to come over for a meal, but bought the food I wanted and drove me home.

“What's up?” I was surprised by his attitude.

He gave me my share of food. “I have an idea, so I have to go home and type it at home. You rest. I'll call you later.”

“Oke.” Seeing him pull my hand, I understand. He wants to give you a good night kiss.

Lecture begins, Matt and I meet more often than Theo. He rarely went to campus and only came for consultations with his teaching staff. Only by the time he came could we be together, but I had to go back to college after lunch.

The closer the trial is, the harder Theo is to find. He came to campus for a moment and immediately went home doing nothing. Maybe when I do the thesis later, I'll understand. We communicate more by message, but that's enough for me.

I stayed focused on my studies and took the midterms well. Matt asked to study together, so I didn't refuse. What I refused was the money he gave in return. I'm not his private tutor anymore, just a senior. After all, the scholarship I received was more than enough to finance my life and college.

“So much patience, yes,” said Matt when we finished studying.

“What do you mean?” many confused.

“Iya. Theo's lucky. He can do the thesis calmly without having to deal with a girlfriend who sulks due to lack of attention.” He smiled meaningfully. “Do not worry. Theo does not cheat even though Chika and her family eat dinner at home every weekend.”

“Iya. He will continue his studies abroad. When else can they get close if not now?” He shrugged both his shoulders.

As Theo and I get further away, Chika can be with him every week. Unfairly. But Matt was right. Theo needed some calm to finish his research. She doesn't need a boyfriend who keeps demanding her time and attention.

The thing is, he also rarely reads, let alone replies to my messages. I don't know if he's healthy or sick. Does he eat regularly and get enough sleep? My question was never answered. Just calling to talk for a minute, he didn't have time.

What makes up the sesibuk thesis? Or is he tired of me, so he's looking for another, more enjoyable activity? He said he would marry me. If not married alone is difficult to divide the time, what about when we became husband and wife? Don't you think he forgot about me.

The final semester exam was in sight, so I refocused on my studies. I must not have failed grades, because my scholarship depends on the results of my studies. The business with Theo I'm leaving aside. He was busy with his scripts, so I was with my studies.

“Good morning,” said, surprising me.

I just passed the fence where I live and he was waiting in front of the fence wall. I rubbed my eyes, not believing he was standing there. “Theo?”

“Iya. I'm.” He put on a suspicious face. “About who is waiting for you? Lo cheating?”

I laughed half crying when I heard it. He hasn't changed. Not caring about the passing student, I ran into his arms. All the burdens and pain of longing were lifted. He's coming to see me! It means he hasn't forgotten me.

“What's up? Why crying?” tanyanya's confused.

“It's okay,” I replied.

“It's okay from a woman's mouth he said lie, dishonest,” he accused.

“Why are you always annoying?” I let go of my embrace.

“Because I'd rather see you angry than sad like this.” She wiped the tears from both of my cheeks. “Lo miss me? Why didn't you say?”

“You're busy, I don't want to interrupt.” I cleaned my face.

“Later also lo understand.” She smiles. “Already, don't be sad anymore. I always love you lo.” He kissed my cheek. “After all this is over, I will strive for time well.”

“Oke.” I nodded in agreement.

“Come, I'll take you to campus. We'll have lunch together, yeah.”

“Really!?” much fun. He's asserting.

The lecture I took lightly while impatiently waiting for lunch. Sonata smiled meaningfully seeing Theo already standing in front of our lecture hall door. I immediately approached him and received his helping hand.

Matt wanted to come, but Theo forbade. Even though her sister was pouting, I saw her blink one eye at me. I was so happy to be able to hug him again from behind when he was in his motorcycle seat. It's a lot more fun than in the car.

Theo took me to our favorite restaurant. The waiter who has memorized our order only confirms and does not provide the menu book. We laughed when we saw that behavior. We always order the same food every time we come.

“So, what's up?” aska I want to know. “Why over the last few months have you ignored my messages and didn't want to call?”
