~Amarily~

I just feel relieved and happy for a while, there are always new problems that arise. Am I not going to be able to live quietly like before? His life was reduced by a year if not more due to the bad events that befell Theo. I think I lost him forever.

Antonio and Meghan ran out of sense, calming me hysterically at the condition of our best friend's car, which he used to court. Therefore, I believe I can't believe he came home safe. Tired of crying and worrying, I was in his arms.

That one month we walked quietly, even though I knew she and I were just as worried. Seeing police cars still standing guard in Antonio's yard is a reminder that we are not safe. They will keep a close eye on our residences until the fugitive criminal is captured.

When Clara's friend and her gang were arrested, we were still protected by the police. It's been my wish to live quietly and comfortably in this country until we get home. I try to enjoy my days for the growth of the little one.

Having just calmed down a moment after testifying in the trial, we were greeted with unpleasant circumstances at Antonio's house. We couldn't get in by car, so we got off and the officers helped open the road until we got into the yard.

Seeing the ambulance, my heart beat faster. Antonio's. That's the only name in my head. If he gets hurt, I'll feel guilty. He wouldn't have experienced this if it wasn't for accepting us living in his house.

“Pelan-pelan. Remember with your content.” Theo, who was holding my hand, held me back from speeding into the house.

“Oh, Lord.” I was surprised to see a statue on the floor.

The medics swarmed over someone so I couldn't see his face. Judging from the crowd, there seemed to be two people who were seriously injured. I can't see who they're dealing with. Theo hugged my waist, then pulled me away from them.

“She's okay,” Theo said. I looked towards him. He was looking at someone, so I followed his eyes.

The man I was looking for was sitting on a chair with Buddy lying by his feet. A policeman was talking seriously with him. Theo's right. She's doing just fine. No nurse was examining her body.

I let out a sigh of relief and waited until the policeman was done with him. Mama stood by my side, sighing in relief. Papa invites us to step aside so as not to hinder those who are doing their duty.

We entered the living room and sat down to wait. The waiter came to deliver food and drinks for us. Seeing her cry, Mama tried to comfort her. Finally, we knew that one of Antonio's foster children had come to demand an inheritance.

Since there were no more policemen on guard, he used this opportunity to meet Antonio. Instead of speaking well, he shot the butler and another servant who came to check on what was happening. Antonio hides in a secret room, as well as other servants until help arrives.

The man burned Antonio's room, but it was defused. There should be a fire truck in front of the fence. That atmosphere must have been very chaotic. It is no wonder there are crowds of people and media who want to know what is happening.

“There-is just,” Papa said after the waiter left the room. “There are custody rights got inheritance. Adoptive children alone can not demand, let alone foster children.”

“Perhaps someone instigated him so recklessly like this,” timpal Mama who sat next to Papa. She gave her husband a cup of coffee. “There are still people who do not want to work to meet their own needs.”

“At least, he doesn't have to worry about shelter and food. All that he will get in jail,” said Matt. “Hopefully he rotted in jail for already shooting two innocent people.”

Antonio and Buddy joined us after everyone left. Both of his servants were taken to hospital for treatment. The man who was the main culprit of the incident was immediately detained at the police station. But our lives are not calm. The police will still be on guard this time for two reasons, us and Antonio.

“He knows your plan,” Theo told Antonio. The man nodded slowly. “I told you to be careful. If they go after my wife, you have to take responsibility.”

“They will not hurt your wife, but me. Just look at what happened today. The one he came to me, not you.” Antonio rubbed Buddy's head on his side.

Antonio smiled. “Looks like I can't wait any longer. Alright.” He looked at me seriously. “Amarilis, there are important things I need to tell you. I hope you won't reject it, because this is nothing compared to what you've done to save me.”

“We've already discussed this, Antonio. You've given too much,” I said, reminding.

“We met on that day was no coincidence. I don't have an heir is a sign.” He held up his seat. “I plan to sell all my assets. There are already some interested buyers. They don't even mind the terms I'm proposing.

“Profit one of my restaurant branches, which you subscribe to, will be yours for the rest of your life. The money will be sent directly to your account. The last few months, I sent it to Theo's account so you wouldn't be surprised.

“But once you die, the profit of the restaurant goes back to its rightful owner. I will not pass it on to your children or grandchildren, because you are the one who is meritorious to me, not them.” Antonio put on a face.

I'm sure he knew I'd refuse. “Antonio, the—”

“I beg,” the door. “This old man will not live a quiet life if he does not repay his life with life. You and Theo saved my life. This is my thank you.”

“Receive it, Brother. What harm? Antonio's right. If Big Brother does not help him, then all this will be a source of commotion between his foster children. Brother not only saved Antonio's life, but also prevented civil war,” Matt's wounds.

“He was right once.” Antonio clapped his hand.

What else can I say? “Good. Thank you very much, Antonio. I understand now why my husband is relaxing with our dragging financial situation. Turns out there's a source of funds that she kept secret from me.” I looked at Theo meaningfully, but he just looked the other way.

Antonio laughed a little. “Don't upset him. He urged me to talk to you immediately. I asked him to keep it a secret.”

The conversation made our mood better. Although there had just been a bad incident that almost took his life, I was happy to see him laughing again. People as old and as good as him, do not deserve to live his old age with worry and fear. He should have laughed a lot.

His foster son was very stupid and short-minded. If he was so eager to obtain Antonio's possessions, why wasn't he by his side when he was on the slump? I'm just a stranger, but he hasn't stopped giving me so much since me and Theo helped him.

Hearing Antonio give me the profit of one branch of his restaurant, instead of being nice, he intended to hurt her. What's inside that stupid guy's head? Hurt two people, he'll be in jail for a long time. Really stupid.

The boring days without work begin again. I exercise in the morning, eat, then learn a lot of things how to be a mother with Mama, eat again, talk about a lot of things with Antonio, then rest. Sometimes, Theo and I discussed about his work or random things that crossed our minds. I miss my job.

Brother didn't give me a paycheck because I was totally out of work for a month ago and one month later, I'm still in America. My share was given to Gino. That's more fair. So, he did not work for free answering all the phones and replying to the messages.

Fortunately, Clara's trial schedule went smoothly as scheduled. Our return is in sight. I can't wait to go to the gynecologist and see the state of the little guy. I don't want to risk traveling out of Antonio's house. The police are still on guard, so we are still in danger.

“Meghan will deliver some souvenirs from my lecturer tomorrow. Would you like something, baby?” I asked Theo. I took the time to bring souvenirs from Indonesia and gave Meghan to share with our lecturers. So, they know my return and want to repay my gift.

“No, thank you.” He was so focused on looking at his phone screen.

“Serious once.” I close my face so I can take a peek at the screen. “What are you looking at?”
