50|I'm Rejected

My blood was boiling realizing he was rejecting me. A poor girl, not my equal, rejected my proposal, Altheo Husada who will lead the famous Husada Group company? Youth who are not only targeted by one, but many prominent families in this country even went abroad. I was rejected by Amarilis?

How dare he! I never begged anyone. I have never humbled myself to anyone in this world, including my parents. But I asked her expectantly to be my wife.

Then here's the payoff. He returned Grandma's inheritance ring secretly. What does this action mean? Is he protesting because of our backstreet relationship? He wants more than to meet behind everyone's back, is that it? I told you, I need time.

Papa and Mama alone were not swayed when they saw the video footage of Chika telling her two guards to gang up on Amarylis for no reason. How else can I convince them of our relationship? Amarylis and I are not equal.

“You yesterday from anywhere?” ask Chika with spoiled.

I'm not surprised to see him in my papa's office lobby. Days like hell begin. I'm sure he'll come to places he shouldn't. This is a workplace, not a place where a woman demands attention.

Without answering his question, I walked towards the elevator. He followed me, even daring to put his hand on my arm. I immediately shook his hand. Fortunately, he did not try again to touch me. Since he had no identification, then he could not pass through the gate that only opened with a special card.

He called out, but I did not care about him, nor did I ignore the gazes of those around me. What is he doing here, bothering me to work? I let out a long sigh of calmness inside the elevator. Arriving at Papa's study, I headed to my desk and sat down casually.

Papa hasn't arrived yet, so I can calm down for a moment. Amaryllis must be getting ready for work. The girl was much better than Chika who was even busy looking for attention. That's why I'm not interested in him, not one bit.

“Thank God, today arrived too,” said Om Wibowo with relief. “I'm glad we can reach an agreement, Azarya.” The man stared at the map containing the agreement letter happily.

New products that do not stop their feasibility test in the field can be well received by the community. That's called cooperation. I don't accept they just want to be sorted out, no matter if my papa's up to a big loss.

“Same-sama, Nathan. Hopefully this product is increasingly widely known by the community and more successful than the trial period.” Papa closed the map in front of him.

“By the way, congratulations on your engagement, Theo,” the man told me.

“Thank you, Om,” I replied politely.

“Sadly, we're breaking up into a family. You and Katelya are a great fit. You would be so proud to have her as your wife,” continued the man again.

“If Om is that happy, why does Om always refuse to announce our engagement?” my challenge. He's clearing slowly. “I've been with friends several times to Om's house, but you guys pretend you don't know me.”

“Pa, we have to go now,” whispered Nolan, saving his papa face. “We still have many appointments before catching a flight back to Medan.”

I'm not surprised they always find a way to avoid that question. Papa did not seem to want to know quietly, did not come to urge them to answer. Am I the only one who cares about the intention behind the family's secret attitude towards us?

“Ah, yes. I'm sorry I had to end our meeting today,” said Om Wibowo.

We stood up and took turns shaking their hands. I watched them leave in a hurry with their lawyers and assistants. I walked with Papa back to his study. He didn't say anything, so I kept quiet.

I'm still disappointed by her careless decision to announce my engagement to Chika without nodding to me. Moreover, they did not publish the evidence I gave about who the girl really was. I don't know what offer Om Winara gave until Papa so this is the case.

After work, Papa didn't take me to an appointment. Things rarely happen, but I'm very relieved. I'm not ready to meet anyone else. He asked me to go home, I understood. The Winara family must have come home for dinner.

Luckily, I used my own vehicle so I didn't have to go home with Papa. I can go anywhere I want. Let those who serve families who like to impose that will. I would not give Chika time to continue playing in front of me.

“We need to talk,” he said seriously.

He got back into his car and not long after, the vehicle entered the parking lot of a cafe. I followed, then drove my motorcycle to a special place of two-wheeled vehicles. This must have something to do with the news that is being aired in various media.

The place he chose was quiet. He definitely did not want to deal with his fans or reporters. Even though his appearance is normal without mekap and branded clothes, it will not be recognized, except by people who are very close to him.

“You promised you wouldn't hurt Riris,” she said without further ado. The waiter had already left after recording our order.

“What do you meet him today?” ask me indifferently.

“What does this have to do with my question?” senewen.

“Because I didn't hurt him,” I replied casually. “My parents who prepared the event, do you still need to be told? Lo know ourselves as children have no choice when parents have chosen a future wife who will bring profit to the company.”

“Well, you already know, but you stay close to Riris,”.

“Since losing Katelia, I no longer want to be betrothed to the wrong woman,” I said, trying to explain. “Katelia and Chika have the same properties, but Chika is more severe.”

“Then what is the difference with Riris?” tanyanya's confused.

“Katelia and Amarylis are two different people. Amaryllis is the best version of Katelia,” I replied proudly. “What do you not realize that? Your sister can be a good person, even more.”

Although Katelia's soul is in Amaryllis's body, she is no longer the Katelia I knew. He is very different in carrying himself, as well as in treating others. His hard work to achieve his dreams was beyond my predictions. I never thought a Katelia would work as low as busking in order to pay her tuition.

She thought I'd be embarrassed to see her peddling her violin skills for money. Of course not. I was ashamed of myself. As a man, I lost to him. I could go to college casually because my parents paid for everything. I don't need to slam my bones.

Jericho was silent. He looked at me deeply as if he was examining the seriousness of every word I said just now. She smiled as she shook her head slowly making me confused. Is there something funny about my words?

“Riris not completely changed, Theo. She will return to being a selfish girl once she has everything. What changed was you.” He's laughing a little.

Even though she's her sister, I don't like to hear her demeaning Katelya. He can change and I've seen it myself. I even have plenty of evidence to suggest she won't be the old Katelia in Amaryllis' body.

“After he felt the pain of being a victim, do you think he still wants to hurt people again? Yes, he hasn't completely changed. But do you know he loves his new family?” my many. He fell silent, stopping to show a happy face earlier.

“His mother opened a bakery and cake business that was very in demand, because she taught them to do small business. He also told how to use social media to expand their business network. Om Wibowo managed to educate him on that.

“Then he is not selfish by surviving to be the girl he often hurts. She could have confessed that she was Katelia, so the problem with your mama was solved. But he obeyed his foolish brother's words rather than my advice.

“Lo wrong, Richo. Amaryllis changed,” I said firmly.

“You also changed.” He smiled meaningfully. “You can see the bright side of this for one reason, and that one reason only.”
