Mama tidied up our food box, then the waiter in the room picked it up and brought it out. We were just the three of us in the room. I'm sure my bodyguards make sure no one else within the radius is safe. They know we have secrets that the public cannot know.

“I'm sorry,” Mama said slowly. He took both of our hands. “I do have rights over my body, but I also need to convey this to you guys. I've been a wicked mother with your sister.” He lowered his head and sobbed.

“Ma,” sayku and Matt simultaneously.

Mom shook her head quickly. “No. We never talk about it, so it's a good time. I have to say it to relieve my heart too. Because I know, my sins are burdening you. Just like the mistake my mom made against me and my dad.”

He took a deep breath, calming himself. “My mother, your grandmother is not from the upper class. In their time, status was everything. The people at that time were very mean to Mama no matter how good she carried herself.

“I was born, the insults of people are becoming more and more. They blamed Mama who couldn't give birth to a son for my papa. Papa and Grandpa tried their best to put down the bad news, but Mama gave up. He was sick and his health was declining.

“Not enough has been the cause of my mother's death, they accuse her of being dead. It was very taboo at the time. They are more arrogant because their assumption of the poor is true. They mocked Papa's family for not listening to their advice to keep my father from marrying my mother.

“Then they did the same thing to me when they were getting married to your papa. I am grateful, Azarya did not give up even though she had not known me for long. Then I was determined in my heart. My children will marry women from the upper classes. I don't want you guys to experience what I used to experience.

“My arrogance has left my son injured several times. Katelia, Chika, then Venny. I didn't expect that the status I was glorifying backfired. Katelia and Chika are bullies, while Venny just wants to live happily.

“I'm sorry, Theo. I will not protest if you are angry and disappointed in me. I deserve it. What you mentioned on your birthday really slapped me. I was an evil mother. I'm hurt by Venny's actions, you must be more. Then I lightly forced you to get engaged to her again. I'm so embarrassed, Son.”

Mama sobbing. This time, she did not manage to calm herself down and sobbed. I hate tears, so I don't know what to do. It's easier for me to entertain Amarilis than Mama. Matt hugged her, so I just kept waiting.

“Please,” says Mama again. “Do not expose this secret to anyone, including your wife. She would not understand, let alone she was also a woman. Abortion is a big sin. But you need to know one thing. I had to do that.

“If I give birth to her, then there will be a civil war that will continue from generation to generation in our family. He and Theo will fight for the inheritance. I don't want that to happen. Even though your uncle doesn't seem to care, it's a little ignited, I'm sure he'll do everything in his power to snatch your papa's. Please, keep it secret about him. Take this to death.”

Mom held both of our hands tightly. He looked at me and Matt expectantly. I never intended to tell Amarilis about this, so Mama didn't have to worry. I also don't want him to keep his distance from his own in-laws if he finds out.

“Gue promise, Ma,” says Matt seriously. “This secret I brought dead.”

“Gue too,” my oath.

Mama's eyes glazed over, then she kissed my cheeks and Matt. “Thank you.” He smiled as he let go of our hands. “The next important thing, I want me to name my first grandchild. Don't ask me how I know, because I know.” I can only bengong.

Amaryllis and her family were confused upon entering our home. Mom decided we were at home and not in the restaurant anymore. So we can talk more freely. They were astonished to see Mama's happy face as she welcomed their arrival.

Mother and Mama to exchange views, do not believe in the drastic changes. Then while standing face to face with Amarilis, Mama just silently looked at him. Amaryllis glanced at me, asking for a clue as to what I should do. I'm unmoving.

Mama raised her hand, then touched Amarylis' cheek. “I'm sorry,” Mama said. He hugged my wife while crying. “Oh, God. I'm sorry.” Mom's voice was getting heartbreaking. “I've been so mean to you, son. I'm sorry.”

Mama laughed. He let go of his embrace, then they wiped each other's tears in the face. “Iya. He did not want to listen to anyone.”

I saw Mother and Father, and Papa and Mama embrace each other. I was so excited to see their daughter making up with her mother-in-law. A sight I thought was still a long time away from being realized. It turns out that I haven't been married for a year, I've had my parents' blessing.

Our dinner was a lot different than the night before. Mama still believes she doesn't believe in Katelia, so we don't talk about it. He was willing to learn to disregard the status of Amarilis and her family in order to accept them, which was enough for now. Step by step. It took me a while to understand the miracle my wife was going through.

“Lo? Can't be so.” Mother and mother Amarilis exchanged glances. “We have agreed I gave the first name, Safira middle name.”

“But I am a mother on the male side. I should have had the honor of naming my first grandchild,” protested my mother.

“It is not our fault that you do not approve of their relationship from the beginning,” said Mommy did not want to lose. “We were the first to know Amarylis was pregnant.”

“Already, already. You name them all three, baby,” Papa told Mama. “If they have a second child, then you can give it a name.”

“We only want to have one child, Pa,” I said, announcing.

The six old men looked at me. Suddenly, their laughter exploded. I looked at my wife with a frown. He shrugged both of his shoulders, equally clueless as to what was funny. Matt and my brothers-in-law also just frowned.

“You already know how good it is for children. I can't believe you'll feel enough to have one child,” Mother's tease on the sidelines of her laughter. Just be right.

The men returned to Medan at dawn Thursday, while Mama and Mama were still in Jakarta. They want to accompany Amarylis to bring Antonio, Buddy, and Meghan to several tourist attractions in Indonesia. Since the wealthy showman was carrying a private jet, I don't mind. After all, doctors say Amaryllis content is healthy and strong.

Antonio was very satisfied to see the condition of his home and yard gifts for our wedding. Buddy also agrees to running around in the backyard. I have to work, so can't accompany them any longer. Even though our relationship with my parents was good, I had to keep working as usual.

They toured Bali Island, Labuan Bajo, and Raja Ampat for two weeks. I followed up where they were on the weekend and returned to the capital on Sunday night. So, I didn't part with my wife for too long.

“You still keep that information from your wife?” ask Antonio.

We sat down at a table in the cafe courtyard of the hotel, so Buddy could be there. The women were going shopping at the local market and forbade us from following them. I'm saying because there's a bodyguard who can protect my wife.

“I won't break the promise.” I put my coffee cup on the table. “Don't take too long. I can't keep hiding something this big from him. We promise no more secrets.”

“Only until the end of this year.” He sat leaning back, closed his eyes, and let out a long sigh. “Then I myself will tell him everything.”

[Hopefully the review of this chapter is not long. Congratulations bobo, guys. Thanks for reading.]
