He looked towards his collar. Of course he won't be able to see the lipstick stains. Who kissed him there? Must be that little girl. This brother and sister are very different. One evil one begs for mercy, the other is kind.
“It's just an accident at the restaurant. There was a guest who bumped into me when I was going home earlier,” he said casually. He looked at me carefully. “Lo think I made out with Clara?”
“Bumping how until the lipstick stick on your neck?” I crossed my hands in front of my chest, holding back my emotions.
“Not everyone is as short as lo.” He raised both his eyebrows. “The woman who hit me was so tall that this happened. Do not suspect that. I'm not messing around. If you don't believe it, you can ask for CCTV restaurant from Daisy.”
Because he said so, I can't be angry. He let me see the CCTV. I closed my book and took it to my room. I want things to stay peaceful and not fight over trivial matters with her anymore, so I better avoid it.
Entering the third week of June, Theo invited me to stay in the cabin in the middle of the forest like the previous year. I accept it with pleasure. We went to a different location with an equally fresh forest atmosphere.
I didn't forget his special day, so I took him to the city the next morning. He just smiled meaningfully. We stopped by the cake shop and I bought a mini birthday cake for us to eat together.
“Gue thought you forgot.” He smiled as I kissed his lips.
“I won't forget my favorite man's birthday.” I kissed her again. “Time to eat cake!”
We returned to the cabin with a full stomach. Because today was a special day, he couldn't do anything, so we bought dinner for us to enjoy later. We also bought some snacks and drinks during our stay in the forest.
“Nothing special with silver age,” he said slowly.
I'm laughing a little. “What do you expect will happen at your age?”
“People always say there's a different taste. The same is true when the golden age later. If nothing special, why is it called a silver birthday?” the debating.
“What is celebrating your birthday with me after we've been apart not special?” godaku's. He looked, then smiled. “We don't know what next year we're still together. So, yes, it's your special birthday.”
“We'll be together until I die first.”
“Lo? You're the one who died first. I don't want to. I used to go,” my protest.
“Neg. I will not be able to live without you anymore. I used to go,” reply.
“So, you think I can be alone if you're not with me anymore??”
“Gue don't want to know. Anyway, should I be the one who died.”
I heard voices from far away. I put my finger in front of my lips. He was silent and listened. “You heard that?” There was no mistake, a sound in the distance. “Doge greetings. Maybe someone needs help.”
“Where do you know? It could be a neighbor's cabin tenant dog playing in the yard with his master.” Theo put his arm around my shoulder and took me on a step towards our cabin.
“No, Theo. That's not an ordinary barking.” I stopped my steps and looked for the direction the sound was coming from. “Come, we check. There could be someone who is in trouble.”
“Lo is troublesome only.”
“Ayo.” I half-picked his hand towards the direction of the sound.
It's getting closer, so I know we're heading in the right direction. Not far between shady trees and shrubs, there is a very handsome and well-groomed Labrador dog. He changed his voice to small and sad.
Seeing him inviting us near something near the bush, I followed him. But Theo took my hand and walked ahead of me first. Just-there's. From the appearance of the dog can be guessed he is not with bad people.
“Oh, Theo! There's people!” pekikku surprised.
“Looks like he fainted.” Theo knelt down and checked the state of the man with all-white hair. He brought his ear closer to the man's back to hear his heartbeat, then placed his finger under his nose. “She's alive.”
“You live where?” ask the dog. Of course he can't answer. I look around us. Which cottage is his residence?
“No need to find another cabin,” said Theo. “This dog has been barking for a very long time. If anyone was near here, they would have come first.”
“We report to the manager only. Let them take care of him.” Theo pulled out his phone.
“You mean, we let this grandfather lie here until someone comes to help!?” I just don't believe it. He could die being left like this for too long.
“Iya. Where else would you like to be taken? I don't want to check all the cabins to know which one to stay in.”
“Ya, already. We take it to our cottage.” I knelt down and checked the man's situation. There were no visible signs of cuts, bruises, or anything on the outside of the body.
“What if it turns out he's a bad guy?” Theo held my hand.
“We can hit him later. Two against one, we'll win. Now, he needs a warm place rather than lying here.”
“Two to one? Did you forget about the dog?”
“Leave a sausage covered with sleeping pills, done. She won't be able to refuse such a delicious meal.”
“Lo has gone mad,” complained Theo, but he followed what I did. We turned the man's body around, then sat him down. “The body is tall and large. I'm not sure we'll be able to break it both down to the cottage.”
“Try first.” I braced myself and raised him with Theo. The man groaned slowly. I sigh in relief. It turns out he's still conscious.
After standing up, the dog barked, asking us to follow him. I looked towards Theo. He sighed loudly, then nodded his head. We followed the dog fortunately, to the cabin a short distance away.
“Halooo,” exclaim we call from doorstep.
We called repeatedly, no one said, so Theo pressed the knob. Turns out it wasn't locked, so we could get in. We laid the old man down on the sofa, just sitting on an empty chair with relief. Thankfully, we don't have to take it too far.
The dog barked back, asking us to follow him. Theo stood up and told me to stay seated and not go anywhere. Where would I go without him? Not long after, he returned with the dog with a tube in his hand.
“Please, get some water,” he said.
I complied by approaching the kitchen counter and filling the water in the glass I found in the upper cabinet. I gave the water to Theo. He sat down and opened his mouth. After putting the medicine on his tongue, he brought the glass closer to the man's lips.
He laid it back, while I put the glass to the counter. I sat by his side and looked around us. This old man and his dog must be on vacation, just like us. There was no sign of him coming with anyone else judging by the number of dishes and glasses that were on the dryer rack. I don't know what he would have been if we hadn't helped him.
“Lo see him? I don't want to live alone like that without lo.” Just be right. He continued our fight which had stopped.
“Where did you know she was alone? It could be that his wife is somewhere with their son,” my debate. “Maybe they had a fight, then the husband went to calm down.”
“Gue better make love to you so we don't fight anymore.”
“Theo!” I felt my cheeks heat up hearing her straightforwardness.
“Why are you still embarrassed? You have to get used to it. Because you're ready or not, you're mine next year. Once we get married, I don't want to wait anymore. That night also became the first night of—”
“Already, stop. You can't see the situation. Don't you realize we're with the sick?”
“Today is my birthday. It's not my fault we cross paths with this grandpa.”
“Can you guys shut up?” said the old man. We turned towards him.
“Grandfather, are you okay? You just fainted outside.” I approached.
He opened his eyes slowly, then looked around. His forehead creased as he looked at me and Theo. “Who are you? I want to die, why are you helping me?”
“What do you mean? Helped even angry. It could die later. Look, well, your dog until sad can not help when you want to die,”.
“I have nothing left, what am I living for?” He looked at me sharply. “Will you pay for my expensive food and medicine?”
