Our groupmate did it on purpose? It's only fitting that all the friends just kept quiet to hear he didn't stop being so know-how. It turns out they already knew that. I stupidly served him, thinking that way would make him quiet.
“Stupid me,” mumbled.
“You are not stupid, just do not know.” Nora brushed my elbow. “Come, we'll have lunch. There are still group tasks that we need to work on.”
Theo was rarely around the lecture hall, so we rarely met on campus. He used to hang out in the library with our other seniors. Continuing to study in a foreign country does have its own challenges. The most pronounced language differences.
During the summer, I was always hungry. I can't imagine how it will be in winter. But Theo does not complain of cooking more food portions than usual. I don't know why he likes me so much fat again.
Living with a person who is focused on academic affairs is the perfect choice. We would rather be in a room to study than go for a walk or attend a party invitation. He's also a nice apartment friend. We share in paying daily necessities, monthly bills for apartments, even for laundry and cleanliness of our residences.
He's correct. Living together is very frugal. I thought this apartment was expensive. Apparently not. He chose a special place for the students and observed the rules in detail. In this building it is forbidden to hold a party with a noise especially until late at night.
“Gue noticed you often study groups with the same person,” he said after meals.
I helped wash the dishes. It's Saturday, so I'm free from college business. “You have also noticed me?” godaku's.
“Don't get too close to your boy friend. I don't like it.”
“I'm always with Nora. Don't be jealous so.” I elbowed his arm. “I did not forget our deal.”
“There is one guy who likes you the same, therefore, I say this. Your instincts are ugly, different from mine.”
“You don't have to go to a restaurant?” I glanced at my watch.
Since entering the new semester, she went to her family's restaurant on the weekend. I've never been there, so I don't know what it's like. I just checked on the internet and it was very crowded on the weekends. Om Azarya is really a genius in business.
We finished washing the dishes, so I dried my hands, then turned around. But Theo locked me away by putting both of his hands on the side of the sink. We were standing so close, but I couldn't back down. My bukong is attached to the counter.
“Gue seriously I'm jealous heavily. Don't provoke my anger, Kat,” threatens him seriously.
I swallowed heavily. I don't like to fight, let alone break up with her again. But I have trouble holding myself back when people argue. The rule period added up? What good is the discussion if I just keep quiet?
“OK,” I said, according.
He looked at me for a moment. Seeing her intense gaze, I avoided her eyes with a look down. His finger was on my chin, then he slowly persuaded me to raise my head again. His eyes dropped glancing at my lips, then I gave my permission by closing my eyes.
He was just a kiss, then hugged me and kissed the side of my head. I didn't understand what was happening, but I returned his embrace. His attitude is strange. There was a time when he made me sad for throwing my face away, then on another occasion he avoided me. Seeing her differently this morning, I ignored the rules regarding kissing by giving her permission.
“Theo, what's up?” many confused.
“If I could, I would marry you now,” whispered.
I smiled at hearing it. “We will definitely get married. Don't be afraid of that. Although there are many other men and women trying to separate us, I am sure we will get back together. Just look at it now. Two years apart, we hug again.”
“Gue dear lo, Kat.”
“I also.”
Midterm exams arrived, we both spent a lot of time in the library. We reminded each other of dinner, then met at the campus cafeteria nearest to the library. While eating, we did not escape from the book.
We still could not breathe a sigh of relief when the exam ended as the task grew more and more. I put my pride aside a few times by asking Theo for help, but he stayed on his feet. I have to try myself.
“This conclusion is not smart. Johnson's mother must have asked us to revise her. Why don't you guys trust me and just write down what I'm proposing?” insist when the discussion ends.
As usual, my friends were silent. They were busy tidying up their stationery and books, then stuffing them into bags. Seeing that, I did the same. Nora who was in charge typed the results of our discussion and brought it up on the day of the submission of the assignment.
“So, you all prefer to hear Amaryllis's opinion than mine? Okay. Next semester, I don't want one more group with you guys,” threatened. Still no one cares. He stood up and left in annoyance.
The friends simultaneously sighed in relief after she was far away from us. They stopped doing their activities earlier. I really don't understand what's going on. Why didn't they just tell him so frankly?
“Gossip is right,” said someone, caught our attention. “He can do evil magic. A friend told me one of his victims was free last week after he complied.”
“I was also told by a former schoolmate that he could separate his soul from his body for as long as he wanted until his family thought he was no longer saved. Just before the machine that was his life support was turned off, he woke up,” said a second friend.
“He woke up after fulfilling his request,” said the first friend earlier, concluding. The second man nodded. He looked towards me. “You must be careful, Amaryllis.”
“Why should he be careful?” Nora looked at me and the man in turn.
“He repeatedly blames you as the source of the problem we do not want to accept opinions from him. It could be that he is looking for an excuse to make you his next target.”
My heart almost stopped hearing that word. If there's only one case, then I believe it's just a coincidence. But they gave an example of two things that had happened to the people closest to them. Is it possible that Robert mastered evil magic?
They were right about one thing. He used to say my name every time he protested. Whereas we combine every good idea together, also conclude it together. Did he intentionally blame me?
“Disregard everything they and Robert say. You'll be fine.” Someone walked over as I unlocked my bike.
“Thank you, Mike.” I'm wearing my helmet.
“You must be hungry. How about we eat first in the cafeteria? I'm the one who bought.” He pointed towards his parked car not far from where we were standing.
“No, thank you. I have to go home,” subtly reject me.
“Maybe next time?” tanyanya, not giving up.
“Sorry, I can't promise,” I said, without making small talk.
People know me and Theo are close, but they think it's because we're from the same country. No one knew we were serious about dating. But some people suspect it, because I keep my distance from everyone.
We also always refuse if anyone invites to take pictures together for college business though. They could have posted it on social media. If his mother finds out we're here together, we're finished. Theo is everything to me right now and I don't want us to break up again.
“What's up?” asked Nora who was walking closer to her bike. “Why does Mike look so angry?” He looked towards the man who was approaching his car.
“I refused his invitation to eat.” I lifted both my shoulders.
“You refused Mike's dinner invitation?” tanyanya did not believe. “He's the son of a rich man in this city. Any woman would feel lucky to be able to spend one night with him.”
“I'm not that kind of woman, Nora.”
He opened his mouth. “Don't say you're still a woman,” he said in surprise. “Amarilis, rejecting Mike will not solve your problem.”
“Why did you say that?”
“Didn't you hear? He's the son of the richest man in town.” He brought his face closer to me. “He always gets everything he wants.”
