~Amarily~
I'm tired of being silent to see people acting so arbitrarily towards us. I was powerless when Hillary died, so I did not want to behave the same when similar events repeated. Everyone focused on Clara so no one noticed me.
Daisy taught me everything I needed to take care of myself, and attacked while the enemy was off guard. That's what I did to Clara. I am fully aware that my life is in danger. But the choice was only me or Theo's parents who were hurt.
Even though we don't have a good relationship, we don't have any significant problems either. So, I don't expect any thanks or appreciation from them. Therefore, I signal Theo not to forward his sentence to his parents.
I don't want to be considered expecting anything in return for that incident. My only intention is to help them all, including my best friends. Meghan will be very sad if her brother is arrested by the police. As much as I hate Clara, she deserves a second chance.
“Nah, it's ready. What say?” say that kind dentist. The doctor who for almost two years has been helping to take care of my smile.
I received a mirror from him and palpitated at my new appearance. For months, I stared at my shadow with braces on my teeth, this was the first time I didn't need to see him again. I took a deep breath, then slowly aimed the glass at my mouth.
“Oh, Lord.” My eyes warmed up to see the amazing results. At first I was worried that the little iron that was stuck in my teeth would leave a mark. Apparently not at all.
“You made it through the pain and discipline came on schedule to take care of your teeth. Congratulations, yes. Do not forget to wear a retainer regularly every night before going to bed. You do not need to wear it during your activity. You are free to show your perfect smile to the world.”
“Oh, Doctor. Thank you very much.” I hugged him tightly.
I was very satisfied to see Theo and Matt speechless as I smiled broadly without the wire. Being with Theo also feels very free. I don't have to worry anymore he'll hurt himself every time he gets out of control.
By the next morning, Meghan had already come to help us pack the last item. But Theo did not finish cleaning himself. Worried about her condition, I searched and found her curled up on the bathroom floor.
He never wanted to take his pain medication. I don't know what caused that headache attack. But I secretly wish he was recalling a very important memory so that he could go back to doing the thing he loved: work.
There was no other way that could help ease her pain, so I helped to shift her mind. A manner that always seemed to be effective every time he had that attack. Somehow we will be able to raise a child with this condition.
“You do anything in the room? Why so long?” lamented Matt. “All this stuff has you, why do Meghan and I have to bother sorting it?”
“Lo want a burito, grilled meat, hamburger, or pizza? I'd like to order lunch.” Theo picked up his phone that was on top of the kitchen counter.
“Everything.” Meghan and I exchanged glances at Matt's response. He understood their conversation, because I translated it into English.
“Do not squash unemployment.” Theo looked at his sister sharply. “Quick select.”
As soon as the food arrived, we took a short break compiling the last item that Theo and I had. I embrace Meghan who looks sad. Farewell is not an easy thing to do, but it must be. I came to this country just to study, not to settle down.
I understand how Meghan will lose her only friend. But he'll get a new best friend at work. Although it takes time to find a genuine one like the one we experienced together while on campus, we can definitely get through it well.
Meghan brought all of our items to be sold or donated. I ask that the money be given to those in need. I don't want to trouble him anymore with the transfer business. We parted ways, as he refused to stay together at Antonio's house.
The medicine Theo was carrying was only stored in his nightstand drawer. Either he forgets or intentionally lets me take care of him. The number is not reduced. There is a drug that must be taken three times a day. I understand he doesn't want to rely on that material, but he still has frequent headaches.
From the first night I woke up because of the rain, I could see signs of him enduring pain while we were on the move. Stupid guy. Is his self-worth more important than his health? I wanted to help by putting medicine into his food or drink, but I didn't have the heart.
“Have you decided where to work later?” ask Antonio.
Theo and Matt were swimming in his indoor pool. We sat in the available seats. I am not interested in swimming with cold weather, even though the water temperature follows the room temperature. After all, seeing Theo's nice body was enough to make my heart work out.
“There are some places I will apply to. The lucky ones will get me.” I blinked one eye at him.
He's laughing a little. “It's a shame you didn't settle here. I will gladly open a new branch and appoint you as its manager.”
“Can you stop showing off wealth?” my protest.
He laughed crisply. “I said honestly,” error. His face turned serious. “Theo's parents still don't approve of your relationship?”
I lifted both my shoulders. “I'm just a poor man with no wealth. They hope to marry Theo to a woman who will benefit their business. After all, status is everything to them.”
“The rich are hereditary indeed so. The same thing happened here. Two very influential families would not carelessly marry off their children. Their company is at stake. If they choose the wrong son-in-law, they can go bankrupt.
“I'm just a new rich guy who happens to be a big success, so it's not a problem. I don't even intend to bequeath anything to my son, if only they survive. I hate the drama of the struggle for inheritance.” He shook his head slowly.
“Because of that, I understand the attitude of his parents. Theo is stupid. I told you, our relationship won't work. Our marriage will never be sanctioned, but she remains reckless. Already given a way out by forgetting everything, including me, he still invites elopement.” My eyes were heating up imagining our uncertain future.
“You're sorry?” tanyanya. Buddy barked, along with feeling our emotions.
“No. After knowing what it was like to lose her, I don't want to be separated from her anymore. Even if I don't know how our marriage is going to go forward, I won't give up again. I want to fight with Theo.” I looked towards him who was swimming.
“He prepared every detail well. I suspect that he has a sixth sense to tell him the accident will happen. Because everything planned can still be realized, although he can not remember.”
Antonio held my hand. “Never forget, you have me you can count on.”
“Thank you very much, Antonio. You must come to Indonesia. I will take you to various places that—” said enthusiastically.
“Get my wife's hand!” the screams of Theo surprised us. “You how long you hold him!?”
Oh, dearGod. He had lost his memory, but his attitude was still the same. The jealousy is very bad. Though this was only Antonio, not a foreign man he did not know. Does he think this old man is attracted to women who are more suitable to be his grandchildren?
We separated the next day on the front porch of his house. I didn't know if we would ever come back to visit them again, so I satisfied my eyes looking at his estate. As if understanding what I was doing, the driver drove the car casually towards the gate.
Arriving at the airport as we planned, we headed for the check-in counter. Then we can walk casually without the need to carry a trolley containing luggage and cardboard containing our goods. I stood in front of Theo while queuing at the immigration department.
The attendant who served me checked my passport and VISA for longer than I normally would. What changed from my face since my first arrival was just the arrangement of teeth. But the picture of me not smiling shows my teeth, so the one I had with two years ago was not much different.
His partner came, making me suspicious. Is anyone in trouble with my passport or VISA? My residence permit was extended, there should be no obstacles. I have not passed my residence permit in this country. My passport is still three years away.
Theo and Matt approached me, and Theo asked the officer. The man gave me an answer I didn't expect. There's a problem with my passport. How could? I've checked everything. What escaped my observation?
