~Amarily~
“Spend lo food or I will never cook again for lo,” threatened to make me more upset.
“For you I can't finish my job.” I had to bite the bread in my hand.
“When should the task be collected?”
“Next week.” He looked at me sharply. “What? You know I never put off work. If I don't finish it now, tomorrow I'll forget, uh, deadline arrived.”
“Lo angry as today the task deadline was.” He approached even though there was a table between us and pinched both of my cheeks.
“Aw, pain, Theo. Release!” I pinched his hand to let go of my cheek.
“Gue to not sleep soundly because of the act of lo.”
“You forced me to sleep with you. It wasn't my fault.”
“Lo sleep really hard, already so lo snoring hard once.”
“I don't snore!”
“Lo snoring.”
My cheeks are completely red from being pinched. So obnoxious. I have to cover it with powder so that it doesn't look like people. Why was he angry that I was overtime for the task that was to be gathered next week? Did I get the task done wrong faster?
The atmosphere of the campus is also not pleasant because of Nora. I don't know if I'll ever recover from my disappointment in him. Why should he like Theo? Like no other man lives on this continent. Why he didn't pick Mike, for example. She said any woman would feel lucky to spend a night with her.
“Sit somewhere else.” Robert kicked out the woman sitting to my right. “Again, Amarylis. We lost you in the group.”
“Because there's no one else you can keep blaming?” my tease.
“Your old photo is very different from now. You must be trying hard to lose your weight. Are you never afraid that all your efforts will be in vain,” whispered, “Kat?”
“You think I'll be scared, huh, with this crap of yours? My name is Amarylis, not Kat.”
“Amarilis is your body, but your soul is Katelya Wulan. Ah, your last name is not easy to pronounce. Means pretty. Month.” He's laughing a little. “You're surprised I can know that? I told you, Kat, I know everything.”
“You like me, Robert?” I switched the conversation, trying to cover my nervousness. “That's why you bothered to find out about me?”
He laughed again. “Sorry, my taste is high for women's affairs. You're not my type.”
“What Rob bothers you again?” asked Mike who kicked out the guy sitting on my left side. What else would this man want? “I have good news for you.”
“Mike, don't tell me you're after Amarylis,” ledek Robert. “Have not enough women you slept with since you were thirteen?”
“Urus is your own business,” is Mike's nag.
Oh, dearGod. Why do I have to deal with these people? I just want to go to college quietly, graduate, and then start my revenge on the three evil women. Three semesters more. Though I've never looked for trouble here, uh, trouble always comes.
Fortunately, the lecturer came, so they could not continue to fight. I ignored Nora who occasionally glanced at me. I have to choose to sit in the front row for the next meeting. That way, no one will disturb my concentration anymore.
Mike put his hand on my shoulder when we were in the corridor. “Listen, I have good news for you.” He won't stay away when I push his body.
“You can say it without coming close like this.”
“I've spoken to Professor Bateman. You are in our group and your grades are also listed. So, you don't have to worry about your scholarship.”
“What do you do?” I just don't believe it.
“Tell the truth. Me, ‘kan, one of your group. And he trusts.”
Yes, he was a friend of my discussion group. Naturally the lecturer did not believe me because my name was not on the paper. But as a group friend, if Mike confirms my confession when facing, then his testimony can be held.
“Thank you just not enough. You should buy me lunch.”
I had to agree. He tried to sit by my side, I refused by pointing at the chair in front of me. He didn't stop touching me, it was so annoying. As long as we ate, he didn't stop talking about his parents' possessions. If other women are interested, I am not. My boyfriend is no less rich than her.
After all, this man was only thinking and praising himself. He didn't let me talk at all or be interested in getting to know me more deeply. Bizarrely. What makes a woman want to be with a shallow man like her? Theo is much better than him.
Since he was going to follow the discussion with my group first, we split up. He's still trying to persuade me to rejoin. I-i refused. Why take such a big risk? I don't want to lose my value or my scholarship because there's this bad woman.
Robert was also in the group. I don't want him to poison my mind with all his scary words. What does he want from me? Why would he find out about me? I don't know if it's good that she found out about Katelia?
“Amarily?” call someone, surprise me. “Ah, sorry. I didn't mean to surprise you.” A woman whose face was no stranger stood by my side.
“Ng, yes? Can I help you?” ask me while opening my bike lock.
“You have no discussion with your group. Are you no longer with them?” He looked towards the terrace of our campus building.
“Ah, yes. I just broke the compactness, so, I came out so that their academics would not be dragged into my laziness,” I replied accordingly.
“If you need a friend, I'm still alone.” He laughed nervously. “Nobody wants a group with me. How about we make a group together?”
When I entered the lecture hall for the first time, I was already close to Nora. We always sat down. Therefore, we also formed groups through the people sitting near us. What happens until someone doesn't get a group?
“You've always been alone since semester one?” I just don't believe it. He nodded slowly. “Ng, okay. Sure oes. Come on, we're a group.”
“Really? You won't be ashamed of my circumstances, ‘kan?” He saw his body.
I looked in the direction he was looking and just realized he was very fat. Maybe I'm used to it, so I don't find anything awkward right away. I smiled at him, because I had found a suitable friend!
We discussed in the library to easily find the books we needed. We also examined several journals that could support our paper. Changing your mind with him is fun. Not Nora, but Meghan who is similar to Sonata.
He is very broad-minded and the way he looks at problems is also different from me so we can complement each other's opinions. Arguing with her was also challenging, as she opened my mindset in a different direction.
“What's today on campus?” Theo was done cooking when I finished changing clothes.
“Nothing special.” I sat in my favorite chair.
“Then why did you smile so since entering earlier?” He sat in front of me.
“I have a new friend. We have a discussion group. It turns out that since semester one there is no one group with him.” I took the fries and bit them.
“Heh, pray first.” He held my hand. Oh, aye. We were silent for a moment.
I told her about Meghan. Theo listened patiently. Relieved, I don't have to think about paper assignments alone. Moreover, I got a discussion buddy who made me a little smarter.
“Gue is happy to hear that. This semester is very important, because starting next semester, you will draft a thesis. So you have to concentrate. Lo pass or not, we have to get married next year.”
“Why did you get married that way? I told you, no one will ever be able to separate us again. Just as you and I trust each other.”
“Secreduce? Lo seems to enjoy the attention of two of your male friends. That's called keeping trust?” He raised both his eyebrows. Die me.
“Theo, look at me carefully. Women of this class are naturally pursued by many men. Not only you are being bullied by a little girl like your senior.” I raised one corner of my lips, suddenly upset to remember the woman who was the assistant manager at his restaurant.
“So, that's why you had lunch alone with him?” He looked at me sharply. Oops. I forget. He hired the man who oversaw all my moves. “What's up? Why silent?”
“Basic arrogant guys have no feelings!”
(Amarilis punished washing dirty clothes for cheating 😅)
