There was a car waiting in front of us. Edrick opened the door, then pushed me in. He told Sonata to sit in the front, while he was next to me. The car moved, away from the news-hungry crowd of reporters.
“Edrick, I have my own car,” my protest. Theo could be upset if he knew I was being driven home by another man. I'm lazy to deal with that complicated guy.
“Your driver is following us. Just relax. I'll drop you off at a safe place.” He glanced behind us.
“Then what about me? My car was there too,” complained Sonata.
“Why didn't you say? You even resigned to just get into my car.”
“Pasrah? You pushed me to get into this car of yours!?”
“You guys can stop fighting for a minute? You're with a pregnant woman,” my senses with annoyance. They both stopped talking. “What just happened? Who am I cheating on? What photos do they mean?”
Edrick pulled out his phone and opened a browser. I was surprised to see a picture of me and Bastian on the screen. Something in the room was taking pictures of him. Wh who? Why would he do this to me? I haven't managed to find a way to melt my in-laws' hearts into this mess.
Wait for. Today is exactly two weeks after Aunt Ruth's arrival to our home. Could this be what he meant by him not staying silent? If this is the plan, does he know I'm Katelia? No. gabe. He wouldn't do this if he knew my secret.
“You should stay at your friend's house. Your husband must have kicked you out of the house after seeing these photos.” Edrick shuddered.
“Do not carelessly talk.” I returned the phone to him. “You've seen for yourself, nothing happened between me and Bastian.”
“Nothing has happened to your husband so spooky, especially if he sees this,” he said, scaring me. Damnit. He's right too.
I was only close to a man, he was already jealous heavily. What if he sees those hot pictures? I could be burned alive with just the look of his eyes burning with anger. I was scared to go home.
“Not listen to him. Theo wouldn't do that. He loves you too much to hurt you and your son.” Sonata pinched Edrick's leg.
“Aw! Why are you doing that!?” protest the man.
“Because you are stupid.”
We split up in front of a fairly crowded shophouse. I drove home in my car, and Edrick took Sonata back to the restaurant. While living alone, without friends, I felt my heart heavy. Aunt Ruth would do that.
He's working with Bastian to what extent? Just to make a photo of the scandal? Could he have expected more than that? I didn't think it out. How do they know each other? Bastian or Aunt Ruth came to plan that?
That crazy guy would want me to be his, while Aunt Ruth would want me to separate from Theo. So, they had similar goals, me and Theo were no longer together. Theo won't leave me just because of the photos, but if we keep doing this, we could get divorced.
Beyond my expectations, Theo welcomed my return by standing in the yard. He could not wait until the car stopped by opening the door. I looked at his hand in confusion. He helped me out of the car, then hugged me tightly.
“Theo?” many wonder. His attitude is strange.
He didn't say anything, so I returned his embrace. The air outside was getting colder, but I ignored it. The embrace was warm, enough to drive away the cold. I'm glad we're okay with my photo scandal with another man.
I cleaned up and changed clothes once I was in my room. He took over the comb as I was about to tidy up my hair. Seeing that, I put night cream on my face. Then I am ready to rest. I waited because he was busy brushing my hair.
“Gue wouldn't be here if it wasn't for lo,” he said, after a long time just silent.
“What do you mean?” my many.
He put the comb over the counter, then put both his hands on the wall of the sink, locked my body. He looked at my reflection in the big mirror in front of us. “Gue will never forget your services at the home of Willis. If you don't act fast, me and my family may not exist in this world and I won't celebrate today's birthday.”
“Any birthday, it will always I remember it.” He put his right hand on my stomach, and then cut my hair. “Gue loves you, Kat. Forever.”
My eyes warmed up to hear a sentence I liked very much, but he rarely said it. We stood with him leaning his face against the back of my head for a moment. I don't want to interrupt whatever he's doing. Maybe hold back the crying, because I did too.
It was so hard for us to live just because our relationship did not get blessing. I don't want to be called sneaky, so I don't want to take any advantage of what happened at Meghan's house. All I thought about was helping Theo and his family, not rewards.
So, every single thing that her parents did to separate us I would go through hard. This is a test we have to win. They need proof of our love not to mess around, then we'll prove it. I wasn't after Husada's treasure, but Theo wasn't just a momentary love. We got married because we loved each other and wanted to live the rest of our lives together.
“Reverse,” said. He lifted his head and retreated, giving me space.
I did so by twisting my body so that we stood face to face. He opened the knot in front of my coat. “What are you doing?”
“Open my main gift.” He lowered the part that covered both of my shoulders so that the cloth slid from my body onto the floor. His eyes scanned my body from under the thin nightgown I was wearing making my blood runny. “Perfect.”
Unlike usual, Theo took so much time to adore my body. It was as if this was our last activity as husband and wife. I don't like him who is usually tough and doesn't care about anything being this melancholy. What else is he hiding from me?
After a brief moment, he cleaned my body for so long that I fell asleep. He was just busy with his own thoughts and I couldn't guess. Want to ask, I haven't got the right question. It was only when I was laid in bed that I woke up again.
He turned off the room lights, but I could see him lying by my side. “What happened to your parents' past so they put it this way, Theo?” tanyaku.
“It has nothing to do with the difficulty they give blessing.” He shook his head slowly.
I lay down and put my hands on his body. “You mean, any other problems?” I put my head on his chest.
“My bodyguard is investigating. I suspect something. Mama has never been this way and Papa will not act rashly just to defend his wife. I need to know why they hate ordinary people. Venny's time is as bad as it is still they accept?”
“What do you mean?” many confused.
He told me everything that happened on his birthday. Turns out that's what he did until he came home late, not overtime. He's not being honest so I don't take offense. Of course I would get angry and sulk, but I could understand. Her mother couldn't have wanted me to be there. Moreover, they again announced the engagement of my husband with another woman.
“If it wasn't for Willis' home recording going viral, the amnesia I suffered would not have been known to the public as well as the accident. Thankfully, when people found out, I was recovering. So, no one can take advantage of my condition.” He's dyed my hair.
“Lo know what makes me happy today?” tanyakanya.
“Bercinta with me?” answer hence. I was glad to hear him laugh.
“Iya, that's one of them, but what I want to say, the shareholders gave their blessing to us. They do not mind your status as long as our marriage is not full of scandal that could damage the company's reputation.” He hugged me tightly. “One big problem is resolved.”
We talked about a lot of things until we fell asleep, including Bastian. He offended that I was not close to other men, so I promised to obey him. I don't want that to happen again. The experience with Bastian has taught me enough.
After jogging and cleaning myself, I checked social media while waiting for my husband to finish his bath. The incident at his birthday celebration was the most shared news by my world friends. Online news media also made it a headline.
Poor venny. My dear has told him to stay away, still hoping to get Theo. Unraveling their evil rejection in the hospital room. Had they followed what Theo said, none of this would have happened. Theo is terrible when angry.
“Pak, there are urgent guests want to meet,” said the butler as we descended the stairs.
“Who?” asked Theo, looking towards the door.
“Police, Sir,” he replied politely.
We exchanged looks with each other. My heart started beating faster. I didn't feel any bad feeling. Then what news did the police bring to come here?
